Just when we think we’ve come far in our fight for equality, some sexist idiot rears their ugly head. Warped ideals, statements and posts aren’t always blatant. Sometimes they're hiding in plain sight. Masquerading as totally normal and acceptable in society. Some people aren’t even aware that their comments and actions are sexist.

Thankfully, there’s an online community that makes it their business to call out people and things that need schooling. The subreddit r/TrollXChromosomes has amassed over 835,000 members since its inception in 2011. It’s a place for “rage comics and other memes with a girly slant.”

For the past few weeks and months, we have been subjected to some crazy sexist posts on social media. So we found it fitting to put together a list of pics from the TrollXChromosomes community. Just in case anyone needed a reminder to sit down, shut up and listen. Many of them deal with covert sexism. Things that are still blatantly accepted but really shouldn’t be. Keep scrolling and don’t forget to upvote the ones that stand out for you.

As a bonus, Bored Panda has included some info on jobs that are closing the gender pay gap in 2025. You’ll find that between the pics. As well as an interview with Eva Chan, a career expert from Resume Genius. We spoke to her about sexism in the workplace, the gender pay gap and a newly-released report on the subject.

A woman in Texas was stopped for driving alone in a carpool lane and her defense was that she was pregnant and, by the state's definition the fetus was a person, therefor she was innocent. It would have been a good test case but the charges were dropped.

Good luck with that. I mean how many fathers actually pay child support for their already born children and how good are courts at enforcing that? And at the end of the day it doesn't change the fact that if I don't want a child/be pregnant, I don't want it. It is not an alternative to being able to get an abortion.

I supported my own child for eleven years by myself even though the father got a DNA test and still wouldn't pay child support. But single mothers are a problem apparently. This a*****e still has a child and so do I. But his contribution was about 5%. Why call up your kid if you didn't want to know them when they cost you money and time but once they're a full grown adult you think that's OK?

If you want to see blatant sexism, look no further than the workplace. In particular, payrolls. And the positions held by women versus men. A 2023 Pew Research Center study found that American women typically earn 82 cents for every dollar men earn. While we still have a long road to walk, the experts at online career platform Resume Genius believe progress has been made over the past decade.

The company recently released its 2025 Highest-Paying, Women-Led Careers Report. The researchers used data from the Women’s Bureau and the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics to arrive at a list of 10 careers where the gender pay gap has narrowed the most between 2014 and 2024.

"The gender pay gap is the difference between what men and women earn for doing the same or similar work," Resume Genius' career expert Eva Chan explained during an interview with Bored Panda.

Chan says while the figure of 82 cents for every dollar earned by men might sound small, it actually isn't. "Over a lifetime, it adds up to hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost income," she told us. "It's also worth mentioning that this is an average — the gap is even wider for women of color and women in certain industries. And while the numbers have improved over the years, progress has been painfully slow. At this rate, experts estimate it could still take decades to fully close the gap."

And then it's the child or teenager that has to raise a child for the next 18 years or get called a sinner or a s**t going to the clinic. Meanwhile that fully grown a*s adult male gets to walk away, no judgments because they can't see what he's done by looking at him. He could be in the picket line in front of planned parent hood or giving a sermon the very next day. It's a sad and unfair world for our girls.

Maybe they should try saying something funny

The International Labour Organization (ILO) estimates that women across the world are paid about 20% less than men. And according to data from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), South Korea, Israel, Latvia, Japan, Cyprus, and Estonia are among the developed countries that have gender wage gaps above the global average. The U.S., Canada, Finland, and France each have a wage gap of 15% or more.

Chan tells Bored Panda that there are quite a few reasons behind the gender pay gap. "Part of it comes down to the types of jobs women have historically been pushed toward, such as roles in care, admin, or support work, which tend to pay less even though they're essential roles," she explained. "There's also what's called the 'motherhood penalty,' where women face career slowdowns after having children, while men don't."

The expert adds that there are also differences in how men and women negotiate pay, how they’re promoted, and how leadership roles are distributed. "Unconscious bias and old-school attitudes about who should be in charge still linger in a lot of workplaces," says Chan. "The bottom line is that the gender pay gap is a structural issue, not an individual one."

Resume Genius released its 2025 Highest-Paying, Women-Led Careers Report in March. It includes a list of 10 jobs or careers that have shown the most improvement in closing the gender pay gap over the past decade. Chan says one of the most encouraging things they found in their research is that some jobs are making real progress toward pay equality.

"Full progress still hasn’t been made yet, but it shows that when industries commit to transparency, equal opportunity, and valuing expertise, the gap can close," she told Bored Panda.

The Resume Genius report revealed that a decade ago female Marketing Managers earned just 71 cents per dollar compared to men. Now, they’re up to 96 cents, which, is a huge leap forward. Furthermore, 61% of marketing manager positions are now held by women. And the average annual salary is around $85,327.

"These are the people behind critical healthcare research, and the pay gap here has shrunk from 79 to 95 cents on the dollar over the past decade," she says. "It’s a field where expertise and advanced education have helped drive parity."

When it comes to Training and Development Specialists, the gap has improved from 75 to 91 cents. "These professionals help others grow their careers," explains Chan, "And it’s great to see their own earnings getting closer to equity."

Patriarchy absolutely has a gender, it's there in the word. However, the people negatively affected by the patriarchy are of all genders. Fighting it benefits men as well as women, but men have been so groomed to hate women that they can't see it. They chime in with things like - but what about how high male s*****e rate are (yes, that's because men are encouraged not to express any emotions but anger or they look weak - PATRIARCHY). Men don't get equal custody (firstly, not entirely true if you look at men who actually fight for custody, but secondly, it's because raising children is considered the woman's job. PATRIARCHY). Women aren't eligible for the draft int he US (uhuh and since Congress has never in its existence even been 50% female let alone female dominated, which gender do you think passed those laws? PATRIARCHY) etc

Disagree. There's no reason a man should pay for everything, it should either be 50-50 or depend on how much money they both make. It's a ridiculous idea that if a man and woman go on a date, the man automatically has to pay. In this day and age, it's absolutely ridiculous. I can't imagine expecting the man to pay for my dinner just because he is a man and I'm a woman.

We asked Chan what advice she has for women who feel they are performing well but still being grossly underpaid... "If you’re delivering results and suspect you’re being underpaid, start by gathering the facts," she replied. "Research salary benchmarks for your role, your industry, and your location. Knowledge is power — and it’s harder for an employer to ignore clear, data-backed evidence. Once you’ve done your research, have a professional but direct conversation with your manager or HR. Advocate for yourself and make a strong case for fair compensation."

Reminds me of that TV character whose wives keep "inexplicably" leaving him after becoming "mean and bitter". Eventually his last ex points out that actually the problem is him. He keeps dating women who are in their twenties while he's in his forties or fifties, so they keep outgrowing him and leaving because they're sick of his stunted, juvenile behaviour.

The searches on google for international men's day is massively higher on international women's day than on the men's day, because it's not about having an international men's day, it's about trying to shut women down on international women's day.

If I'm allowed to be a doormat, I will be. I was raised in the 1950s/60s, and that was the norm. You pleased everyone else and did what you could to make life pleasant for your family, husband, friends, and co-workers. You cleaned the house by yourself, raised the kids, had an outside job, and did all the errands, sports pick-ups, and running around your husband needed you to. You couldn't have a checking account without your husband's (father's) permission. Those things were the tip of the iceberg.

Too many men think they're the good guy if they cover up the r**e but not take part in it. And it has been shown again and again that men r***d in front of other men - who just watched (at best - often enough they got so hard on watching a screaming, begging woman getting r***d that they joined in). But boohooo, women dare not to trust all of you instantly. Complain to your rapist fellow men - but everyone: how often have you read a tweet or comment a'la "if you f*****g rapists wouldn't get us all into bad light, we wouldn't be this lonely" or something to that effect?

They are doing this to Imane Khelif and half the world is cheering them on. I wonder if she also has to pop out a few kids to "prove" that she is a woman cause "only real woman can have babies". If Imane turns out be unable to have children (like many cis women are) they will probably see that as proof that she is indeed a man.

According to the wiki page- The s*x test used for European Cup women's track and field competition in Kyiv in 1967 wrongly identified her as not female, and Kłobukowska was subsequently banned from competing in professional sports. This was surprising considering she passed the anatomical s*x test a year prior to this competition. A year later, in 1968, she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. According to the IAAF, she had "one chromosome too many", likely referring to detection of a Y chromosome in some of her cells.[ However, if she had been tested one year later at the Mexico Olympics, she would have been eligible on the grounds that she was Barr body (inactive X- chromosome) positive, having a Barr body in each of her cells. The Polish Olympic Committee has stated that athletic federations from the Soviet Union and East Germany targeted Kłobukowska for sportingreasons.Kłobukowska's humiliation led to a change in the s*x verification policies by the Olympic committee which from then on kept test results secret.

All this chromosome stuff is just a smokescreen for transphobia. If people are genuinely concerned about whether women in sports are "competing on an even playing field", they should just divide up competing groups by physical size and strength instead of bothering with chromosome tests. You know, like how boxing is featherweight, heavyweight, etc. And then do that for men's sports as well! BTW, how do non-binaries even compete, their existence isn't even acknowleged?? They're here, they're enby, get used to it, y'all!! In fact: Instead of dividing people up by gender, just divide up ALL the contestants by physical size, strength, and approximate ability, regardless of gender identity. THAT would make things truly equitable. But the anti-trans brigade don't actually care about equality in sports. They just care about excluding trans people from as many levels of society as possible.

Men aren't usually coerced out of fear to give someone a number, just because men are usually larger and stronger than women. But of course, if a small man was being bullied by an aggressive woman, that would be wrong too! Nobody should be coerced into anything they don't want to do.

I'll correct, I know my fake number well. (The last time, the number wasn't sold, that guy was desperately trying to call me, while I was standing in front of him, and I repeated over and over the number, and that should work. Then why did I give him a number? Otherwise he wouldn't let me alone.)

I don't get this. In general I don't get men who keep on annoying or threatening or attacking women who aren't interested in them. Why are they wasting their time? Do they enjoy being humiliated? Do they enjoy wasting time that they could be spending with friends or on themselves?

I use the same fake number (which is close to the real one so if I later need to say it was just a typo I can). So this wouldn't work on me. I'm taking about not wanting a company to spam call me, but any women who are worried about this are free to use my tricks too...

I see that somebody doesn't understand the context of the stories that they read. Cassandra's story was about her being cursed. The reason that she wasn't being believed wasn't because she was a woman, it was because she was cursed that she would see the future and that nobody would believe her. She was a priestess and people back then believed priestesses, so her gender made no difference in people believing her. The story is about what gods do to people who refuse them.

the type of slttish reaction that belongs to the same family as karenism, maga, hamas rallies etc.: "no matter what happens or how it got there, you stand up and leave; then, our organization will contact you for orgies". decades ago, when families were a thing, violence wasn't a rule, not even the majority or a multitude of cases - a simple change of attitude put everything in their place. but you don't produce women in eprouvette to let them humped by any normie, aint?

So. When someone brings up something "bad" that men do, saying "women do it too!!" is 100% counter-productive, as all it does it end the conversation and detract from the point the OP is trying to make. Sometimes, issues *do* disproportionately affect one gender over the other. Acknowledging that can be very helpful when evaluating possible solutions. You can go bring up men's issues on another page, and that would be completely valid.

Short version - women were asked if they would rather be in the woods with a man or a bear, and a large number (I think the majority) said a bear: "When asked to explain their decision, many women responded that they know a bear would either leave them alone or k**l them, whereas they fear the details of exactly what a man could do to them". This triggered A LOT of men.

now honestly, in the animal circles where such beings circulate, these exact values are promoted, so if she would write this like an equation this would be: exploitation without money vs. exploitation with money, now subtract the exploitation... the only logical flaw is to equate love and pro-stitution and call both exploitation. and that empty large smile, coming so naturally to species that lost any connection with the divine that only live in their solid concrete.

Bra size helps too. Will this shirt fit my b***s right or should I go up a size? When you find a positive review from someone with your height, weight, and bust size it's like a beam of light illuminates the room directly from the cosmos above and you buy it.

This might sound dumb, but it also helps in more ways then just making sure it will fit. I'm an 18y/o girl and it's hard to feel confident in the midst of this "women must be 110 lbs and 5'2" society. Like it makes me feel better to know other women are the same height or weight as me and I still deserve cute clothes!

My grandmas were, genuinely. But then, my grandfathers were all men, and not little boys. There are no stories in my family about men who wouldn't change diapers, or do dishes. This wasn't celebrated. It just was.

I have one grandma who was happy with my grandpa and one who had the means (and as something I've heard, many women have the strength just not the means to leave horrible men) to leave several abùsive men. It's a very interesting parallel looking at their lives and taught me a lot at a very young age.

That is again the problem with many people on the left. They always judge people in the past, based on their own personal experiences and ethics and mores today. Grandmas were happy because they grew up with a different set of expectations, and if those were met, they were happy. Also, they were happy with their grandkids. My brother was in a miserable marriage with an PoS wife. His grandkids all know him as a happy grandfather because he is happy when he is with them.

Perhaps if women/men, regardless of their gender/age, would help others to express themselves better or even to talk about things that are clearly kept quiet, perhaps many things would become clearer and would help us to better understand many issues... (yes, men and women keep their mouths shut equally for fear that this information will be used against them, or for fear of not being taken seriously, or a thousand other variations...) think a little before criticizing without further ado.

I see this over and over on Reddit. Man thinks he's all that and a bag of chips and demands an open relationship. Woman reluctantly agrees. Man can't get a date to save his life. Woman has dates lined up around the block. Man demands to close the relationship. Woman doesn't want to because she's having the time of her life and getting laid three times a day. Man goes on Reddit whining about it's so unffaaaaaaiiiir and there are 2000 comments saying "what did you expect, moron?"

That exact thing happened in my marriage. But I stayed true to him and never left him. 5 years later, he finally has a girlfriend, who eventually says "it's her or me" and guess who got the boot? I should also say he was almost 40, she was 21. I wasn't 21 anymore, and 6 months pregnant. I guess she looked like more fun. Happily, she dumped his dumbåss before the baby was even born. Lol

Also, after a certain age, there are more women, however, women of that age are more likely to be looking for relationships, while men are happy to have casual s*x. So a man would have a better chance at finding a partner at that age, but a woman would have a MUCH easier time finding casual s*x. The market is better for divorced or widowed men looking for a new partner, but it is MUCH better for women looking for flings.

I have a rare perception with the same results. My male friend has a horrible wife. He went to England for school and the wife decided like a week after he left that she wanted an "open relationship". Mind you, she did not sleep with him for at least a year before this. She's the type who ALWAYS got her way and he reluctantly agreed to make her happy. He came back from England and the wife still wanted to be "open". While she found crappy men online, my friend found himself a girlfriend we all love dearly. We don't understand why he doesn't leave his wife for the girlfriend. She brings out the best in him and vice versa. He's happy and fulfilled and most recently, the wife has no one. She tried hitting on another friend's husband (they're monogamous) and she wouldn't take "no" or "please stop" for an answer because, again, the wife is used to having her way. Now she's ostracized from the friend group. I hope you see this Marie because you suck as a person and wife.

If it wasn't for the fact that the other husband would definitely notice her being pregnant, then I would bet there would be some women with a secret second family too. So true. I heard of men saying a female judge shouldn't handle a r**e case, because as a woman she's impartial. Completely ignoring the fact that a male judge would also be impartial because he doesn NOT have the same experiences as women. Both are equally impartial, both have their own experiences and lack the experiences of the other gender.

Why wouldn't you want an impartial judge? Isn't being impartial (as much as possible) the prerequisite to be a judge? I believe cases can be dismissed or need to be tried again if the judge is not impartial.

That's the point: the guy in the photo is Luigi Mangione, the guy who gave that f*****g murder-by-health-insurance-policy CEO what he deserved. He is treated like a terrorist, so the post asks for him to be treated the same way as rapists.

Yup and the system had no problem with that (and it is an attitude that is constantly shown in the legal system) but suddenly this guy is public enemy number one (or at least they're trying *really* hard to make him that. It's not working well)

I used to do a sword fighting course. The trainer had to ban several guys from fighting without the trainer's supervision because when they fought against a woman and lost, they lost their freaking s**t and started to stab or aim at the head (as you can imagine, highly forbidden actions). And of course more than half of the men made horrible comments about the women's bodies.

No matter how frustrated you are, blaming misogyny for all your problems isn't going to solve anything at any point. The only thing you can do is take responsibility for your own decisions and actions, for why they really aren't turning out the way you expected, and stop believing it's because of misogyny.

There are times where it IS because of misogyny though. Always automatically assuming that it's your own fault, is just as naive as always automatically assuming it's misogyny's fault. We know that misogyny exists, so assuming that it's never misogyny, just isn't realistic. And in some cases you can clearly see that it is misogyny that's the problem, and in those cases it needs to be called out.
