Buying stuff is so last year, thus more and more people turn to DIY projects for anything and everything they can. And with the help of the internet, many DIY craft tutorials are only a couple of clicks away - from holiday decorations and toys to clothes and makeup, all of that and so much more can be done at home. Or so they say at least.
With so many Do It Yourself tutorials flooding the Internet lately, you'd think people would have the hang of this DIY craft thing by now. They don't. They're still delivering some pretty epic fails, and it's still hilarious. We get that directions to even the easiest DIY are sometimes hard to follow. It's totally true that things rarely look the same as on the screen. Come on, though. Did these people even try?
Have a look, and a laugh, at some of the worst Pinterest fails we could find below. If your DIY project didn't go as planned either, add it to our list below, because there's no shame in funny fails if you at least put in 50% effort.

Oh, as a crocheter I want to talk to the person who did this. They’re most likely in Australia or the UK and don’t know that there are actually multiple crochet “languages”. They’ve used the wrong stitch, and our yarn is thinner too, so the recommended hook size is too big…

There's actually a technique called watermarble where you drop the nail polish in water and it floats ... You swirl it and then you dip your fingers or toes in it ... And you get your nails painted all good ! Or like the second one 😂😂😂

The key is to not remove it from the balloon until the glue is 100% hard. If you are using classic white school glue humidity can rehydrate the glue and cause the structure to melt/sag.

Why would anybody "expect" a bowl full of buttons would look like the first one? Buttons don't work that way unless you just collect them and use glue.

I have done many of these, they are not that hard....though...that being said, you need the right crayons. Not all crayons are created equal. The higher the wax content, the better the melt. Some crayon makers use soy or other ingredients, and they might melt poorly or not at all...

Those aren’t terribly hard. Need to saturate the yarn and shape it around a balloon and let it completely dry and pop the balloon.

did...they used a hot glue gun? you do those like paper mache you soak the yarn in flour/water and put it around a balloon and then pop the balloon when it drys.... I made those in second-third grade!

Try various simple designs before you tackle something so difficult. If the instructions stump you or you aren't sure what they mean stop and look back at everything again. The folds really do need to be perfect.

I have a very strong feeling that the "fork" in the Expectations picture is metal that someone (a metalsmith or jeweler probably) shaped to look like a real fork. No real fork I have ever seen has tines that long, other than a pitch fork, and that is clearly not what this is.

I made these. its easy. Put water in a ballon and add food coloring. Tie it shut. Freeze over night in the freezer and cut the balloon off. If you live in the north as I did in Minnesota, just put them outside overnight and they are done.

There's fabric paint that can give things a new look... unlike traditional spray paint that covers everything. It seeps into the fabric kind of like fabric dye still leaving you with fabric not a paint finish.....it doesn't cover anything. Thus the chair fail.

I don't understand why there is so much melted crayon craft. Some plastics get out of shape also at higher temps. Crayons are thick and cumbersome to pour to get a good effect. Crayola Crayons begin to soften at around 105 degrees Fahrenheit and they have a melting point between 120-147 degrees Fahrenheit. The melting point is the same for all regular Crayola Crayons, however, because of the density and amount of pigment included in various crayons, the thickness or viscosity of the melted mixture will vary.

I love how people cannot see from the examples (and this isn't the first example) that the caps need to be offset, so they nestle within the space made by the previous row. That way, the surface of the table is covered. Of course it is going to look like c**p if they line them up in straight lines. Duh.
