Comical, cuddly and capricious, Corgis have continued to rule the internet with their various hijinks. While they might seem ridiculous at times, did you know that Corgis were originally the pets of warriors? Yes that’s right, the first breed of these snuggly dogs were brought over to Cardiganshire, Wales by a warrior tribe of Celts around 1200 BCE. Now, over 3000 years later, Corgis seem less like warriors and more like comedians. Pretending to drive cars, sledding in the snow and dressing in ridiculous outfits, these rotund pups have brought many of us countless moments of internet joy. Beyond the web some Corgi enthusiasts love these animals so much they organized a Southern California annual Corgi meet-up. Here at Bored Panda we like to spread the cheer, so we have put together a list of some of our favorite Corgi moments. Don’t forget to up-vote your favorite photos!

I'm glad there are people who love these animals. They seem sweet. I just don't understand the attraction of any animal (dog, cat, etc) bred to have super short legs.

They're bred for herding cattle (if you can believe it). They nip at the cows' heels to get them moving. I guess unlike sheep cattle are going to be hard pressed to see even a large dog as a predator and be herded so small, agile, and able to nip at their heels works better. I don't know if anyone uses them for that now, but that was their original purpose. Most short legged dogs are bred for being able to get down rabbit/badger/fix/whatever the specific breed is meant to be hunting holes, but in the case of corgis, it's cattle herding.

I can't get past the first page. I love corgis but I do not understand why it is standard in America to dock their tails. It's unnecessary and cruel. Stop it!

Security for living creature (human or animals) is important. These animals have got love and they are fully secure for love and food, and hence and their behaviour is even much better than human beings. So security in life is important. When we are secure, we behave differently. And when we are insecure- our behaviour changes. Those dogs on the streets (at least in rest of the world, not in western world) or animals in forest behave differently, if same animals are pets and secure in home, they behave differently. Make everyone safe and secure in your home or work place (your spouse, your employee, your servant, your child or your pet, your neighbor)

Please don't buy one. They probably have one at your local shelter or rescue group. I got my guy at a shelter 10 years ago 6/7.
