Trevor Lahey, AKA Greaseball1987, is one Certified Caulk Installer with a wicked sense of humor. His parody Instagram account, which gives little other information save for his hourly rate ($17.40/hour non-negotiable, if you must know), is a collection of hilariously bad construction fails and DIY home improvement jobs over which he writes hilariously funny captions.

Assuming the role of the worker, Trevor proudly presents his interior design 'projects' with tongue-in-cheek hints and tips, whilst lavishing praise on his own creative ingenuity. The funny photos are rounded off with your stereotypical 'inspo' hashtags, with #keepcraftalive, #problemsolver, and #themoreyouknow being particular favorites.

Check out some of his best captions and tell us what you think about these hilariously bad designs. Do you have any DIY epic fails to share? Do you know any 'experts' like Trev here that might not be as skilled as they think they are? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

Given Trevor's frequent use of the word 'darts' to refer to cigarettes, we can only assume that he is Australian. Bored Panda has reached out to Mr. Lahey for further comment.

"Generally speaking toilets are poorly designed, way too many twists and and turns. I like to elevate the shitter as much as possible so when you’re dropping bombs it’s a straight drop to the city! Feeling like a Gargoyle up on your perch is just a bonus!"

Could be that throne has to be elevated because otherwise it would be lower than the minimum for the sewer system

Leo Petipas
Community Member

The person who called out the drop in the sewer line is the closest but failed to notice the sewer line here exits the building part-way up the basement wall. This place was probably built long ago before building codes or the basement was retrofitted like: crawl space expanded to full basement or something like that. There are workarounds to have the toilet and floor level but they require a separate sealed chamber and electric pump.

By the way, the only reason this thing shows up a lot it's because the toilet pipe requires a certain slope in order to drain correctly, and if the main pipe is too far away, well, one easy thing you can do is to put the toilet higher in order to get that slope...

Naomi Armitage

I had this exact setup in a place I lived in. Some quack "contractor" was trying to turn my mom's basement into an apartment, and this was how he did the toilet. The tub and sink were across the hall.
