Bored Panda has reached out to Reddit user u/wayofcain, whose Christmas card you can actually find in the list. It's the one where he, his wife and their not-so-satisfied kitty cat are posing as if they're anticipating a call from the '80s who want their retro wood-panel wall back.
"Cain told us that this was actually their first Christmas card. "We saw some vintage clothes at a reseller and ended up coming up with the idea," elaborated Cain. "The cat was obviously tired of being held and the perfect photo was caught. Afterwards, it was so popular we make a new theme every year."
And if you're wondering, the cat's name was Lift. Sadly, she passed away a few years back, but her legacy lives on in the form of an angry feline stuck in a retro holiday card.

My husband was diagnosed with cancer (55% cure rate) just before my dad's birthday party. All party long he was joking with my brothers and dad that he got the last cookie, beer, etc because he had cancer. It made a horrible scenario much more comforting to laugh about what we couldn't control. Happy to say he's still surviving 10 years later. Just two years left before he's deemed cured.

this is great. it shows they want to make humor out of their situations instead of b upset about it. i give them my respect both situations arent easy. i kno ppl who have both of these situations. my friend who lost her arm in a car accident is constantly depressed bc her favorite thing to do in life is pottery. we try cheering her up but its hard kinda like she wont let us. my friend who got a masectomy she lost all her self esteem. constantly saying how ugly she is now. i had my fashion designing friend help her. she made her a bunch of gorgeous outfits and had her b the model for my friends fashion final at school. thankfully she is doing much better now thanks to that. my friends professors looked at her in awe and would say beautiful or stunning etc. thanks to that she realized shes still beautiful.

I feel like the 4 people in this photo represent the 4 stages of life. The baby represents childhood - young, oblivious, naive. The child in the middle, id our teens to late 20's - happy to be growing up, away from school and now can finally be their own person. The crying child represents our 30's and 40's - We underestimated everything! We want out!. The Santa represents us as we age - We've seen it all, and we know you'll be just fine.

Hate to disappoint everyone, but this is actually a remake of appropriately titled “Live From Death Row,” VIBE ’s February 1996 cover featured the already-notorious label’s faces: Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Suge Knight and Tupac Shakur in a Goodfellas-inspired collage.
Since then, Cain and his wife have been doing annual Christmas cards.
"Usually [the process is] spontaneous. We have to start in August to make sure everything is done and each year they get more outlandish," explained Cain.
For example, 2020's Christmas card references E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, specifically that one scene where E.T. and Elliott take off into the skies with their bike. While it does take a jab at the whole pandemic thing with the caption "Everything's Terrible 2020" (either that, or it doubles as a critique of the E.T. video game on the NES that many people love to hate), otherwise it's solely a tribute to the classic 1982 movie.

Mind you, most people who create Christmas cards do it on an annual basis, and Cain's family is no exception. He admits that the most challenging part of it all is coming up with ideas that would, at the very least, match the previous year's card, and ideally beat it.
But challenge means payoff, and that's what Cain highlighted: "The most rewarding part is the response we get after they arrive in people’s mail." He explained that some who get the physical cards might end up keeping them up on their fridge all year round because of how good they are. This is besides all of the success they end up getting among Cain's friends on social media.
Speaking of social media, you should probably share this list on your wall. Or whatever the kids call it these days. Otherwise, keep scrolling—there's plenty more where that came from.

People keep forgetting that the LDS renounced polygamy around 1890. The group who wanted to continue practicing polygamy were rejected and excommunicated from the church pretty quickly. My husband and I left the kids church about ten years ago, but I still occasionally find myself protective of it. When people I meet find out I’m from Utah, and indeed grew up LDS (they almost always ask), I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to explain that NO, Mormons don’t believe in having child brides, or multiple wives.

I can relate, being the Emily of my siblings (5 of us). On the plus side, I have the best relationship with our Mom, having helped her raise my sister's 3 kids, and now helping her raise 2 more kids (biologically both from one of the nieces we raised together). My Mom is a trooper, a hero, and a Mom in the truest sense (if you counted correctly, yes, that means she's currently raising her 3rd generation of kids)!

Looks like a freeze brand. Usually used to identify who the horse belongs to, usually, but I wonder if this one might indicate that the horse is positive for a genetic condition called HYPP and shouldn't be bred. The disease started with a Quarter Horse stallion, but a lot of Paints have Quarter Horse blood. (The stallion, Impressive, fathered hundreds of foals before anyone figured out he was passing on this condition--he was either asymptomatic or had a very mild case--and it was another decade or so before a genetic test was developed, so it turned into a huge problem that affects a lot of American horse breeds, especially ones used for Western-style riding. This all started back in the 90's; the affected breed organizations are still working on getting it out of their bloodlines. Some horses that have the gene can have few or no symptoms, but they still pass it on, and their offspring could end up being severely symptomatic.

My dog hated when I said "he/she's gonna get you". She'd growl and eye anyone near her like they were after her. Then lick me in good fun. Oddly, if I did it and my mom was nearby she'd run after her and nip at her legs. Found out later she was having an affair. The dog knew.

When my cat is feeling playful, I'll tell him "I'm gonna git you!", then he goes "mrrp!" and runs away, but he always lets me git him and smother him with kisses. It's at that point he starts questioning his life choices.
