Can confirm. Got an autofeeder for my kittens because they eat like human teenage boys. BOTH of them stuck their faces right into the top before I was able to even fish scooping food into it, lol. Wilson (AKA mama's little space cadet) had food on his head and didn't even care. :p

When we had to move to a new location, I moved first with our two cats, my husband would come a day later with all our stuff while I was “locked up” in a room with our cats (I’m disabled so couldn’t help). Point is: one of my cats got underneath a board that were placed in the corners of one room. I had to get my 4kg cat from under there through an opening of only 4-5cm, that was a real hassle but even that was possible without any damage to cat or that board even so I’m sure this cat got out just fine <3

My husband had horrible allergies when he was young. He was highly alergic to cats and it agrivated his asthma. 16 years ago a young cat walked in through a tiny tear in our screen slider. It was a Friday night and I said I’d take him to the shelter on Monday. He was a she and was pregnant. We have 2 out of the five babies still with us. Husband out grew his allergies appearantly! He went from never having a cat to helping birth kittens, go to regular vet appts and he is a great fur baby daddy!

Some years ago I read genetists could succesfully breed a race of hypoallergenic cats, I can't remember well but it was like a change in some genes so the thing that makes the hair to produce allergies in humans wasn't present, so people who are usually allergic to cats could keep them without any issues. OP, you should look for it on Google in case you want to bring Legolas a partner in the future :) (Sorry but my fever doesn't allow me to think properly in English, I hope it made sense)

I know what this is like! I am also allergic to them but managed to talk my Hubby into us getting one.well he rescued him out of the middle of traffic. I have to stay on an allergy med all the time anyway so might as well have a cat!

I wasn't able to have kids either. So I've devoted my life to rescuing kitties and doggies. And have never regretted it. I have 1 cat, 1 dog and 4 parakeets...all rescues.

I once asked my mom how she did it, she was patient and knew how to care for us PERFECTLY she said: " Honey I had 7 cats 3 younger siblings oh and 5 of those cats had atleast 4 kittens"

Besides, cats don't need diapers, feedings at oh-dark-thirty, school supplies, tons of toys, new clothes every six months, bicycles, video games, braces, summer camp, college tuition, etc.

You don't need to biologically produce offspring to have a positive impact on a child's life. Get involved with the youth group at your house of worship, volunteer at the library or pediatric unit, be a Big Sister, be a foster parent or be an Auntie to a friend's foster child. There are many benefits to not being a parent, and there are multiple opportunities to be a bright light in a child's life.

I couldn't have children either, but I've had many, many lost children in my life. I worked with abused children for 15 years, and many of those kids still come to see me, still text, still tell me what an effect I had on their lives. I guess that this was God's plan for me, to be an "adopted" mom :)

One of my cats brought me a mangled up mouse. I freaked. A few nights later I was asleep when clunk I was hit in the face by something. I opened my eyes and Noddy was standing over me. I found, with some trepidation what he brought me this time. It was a Sylvanian Family mouse - in clothes. He looked so proud of himself when I stood it up on my bedside table, bless him...

Aaaawwww! Cats can be so affectionate. Sadly, many people think they're not. As soon as I get in bed 4 or 5 cats pile in with me & each one has "it's" spot on my bed & me. This photo is precious & contrary to popular belief cats do not "take babies' breath away". Looks like the baby is lovin' this affection too!!!!

On a more serious note, don't try to feed your cat a vegan diet. No matter how many articles and videos you've seen of other people trying this. That's torture for obligate carnivores and there's no getting around their biology; they will suffer and die much faster than normal. If you want a cat that eats vegetables, get a rabbit (they even have claws).

I've lived most of my 65 years with cats. Here's alternatives. A kitty size box near the keyboard. A hot water bottle covered with a towel in the box. Or a heating pad on low setting, the kind that shuts off after an hour.
