The “Memes I wish I could tag my cat in” Facebook page is dedicated to hilarious posts about having a feline friend. We got in touch with Trev Lewis, one of the founders of the page to learn more. My black cat was evil. He'd climb inside packages with loose Styrofoam beads, which would cling to his fur, then he'd jump into my bed or comfy chair or run pell-mell through the house releasing those beads everywhere.

I just watched a video on cat personalities in relation to their fur color/patterns, and they said researchers found that black cats were actually sweet and affectionate

I have a black cat and her name is Four, you can probably guess why she is called that. But, she is not evil. But, unfortunately, she is not much smarter than a rock. Still, I love her.

Ours was cool and owned our dogs even though she was only 8 lbs and they were 100+ lbs. We lost her at 15.

I hv 2 black cats!! They are loving, funny & oh so adorable!! I adopted them 2yrs ago when they were 2yrs old. They are brother & sister, one is a short-haired & the other is part Main C**n. They hv different fathers but were born together. I love them Oh so much!!

Bored Panda got in touch with Trev Lewis, a broadcaster and comedian who is also one of the founders of “Memes I wish I could tag my cat in” and he was kind enough to answer some of our questions. Firstly, we were curious to hear his thoughts on why the group is as large as it is, currently just shy of a million followers.
“I think the page's main draw for our group is a passion for debating the different schools of thought within modern economic theory. Kidding! The main draw is cats, of course.” You can also find his previous interview with Bored Panda from last year.

“People will always love cats and anything that incorporates cat content. It's a fun place to spend some free time, as opposed to more-serious corners of the internet. Cat memes endure because they make the perfect indoor pet, and those of us (myself included) who are chronically online don't like to go outside much. So this particular crowd is wired to appreciate and own cats.”
Naturally, we also wanted to know why he thought cat memes in particular were so enduring and ever-present. “Compared to other animals and their respective memes, cats simply have more of a meme-worthy personality. They are fiercely independent at times, and very antagonistic.” he shared.

Trev shared some parting thoughts. “The only other thing I will add is that my family's oldest cat, Nugget, is currently in ill-health. It's always difficult to lose a pet, and I think this group has helped me, and hopefully many others, have some bright cat-related moments in difficult times. Our cat will occasionally have a panic attack in the night and come into our bed, screaming and howling and batting our heads till he is,convinced we are actually alive and no longer need his medical attention
