This Facebook Group Documents Examples Of Bad Drivers, Here Are 50 Of Their Funniest Posts (New Pics)
Ah, the joy of having a driver’s license. I remember the amazing feeling of sweet freedom I experienced on my 16th birthday when I was told I passed my driving test. Suddenly, I felt like an adult, and the world (or at least my hometown) was my oyster. I felt mature, as I understood the responsibility that the open road comes along with, but I was excited for all of the new opportunities at my fingertips. A road trip to the beach with my friends? Stopping for coffee on the way to school in the morning? Being able to get a job because I could actually take myself there? I was thrilled!
Until I realized very quickly that driving can also expose you to the very worst parts of humanity. From encountering terrifying road rage to dodging erratic sports cars speeding down the highway, any driver will have moments where they question how on earth some people were able to get their licenses. Thankfully, the members of the Bad Drivers Facebook group are never too far away, and they're prepared to mock the worst offenses they catch. We’ve gathered some of the most hilarious posts from Bad Drivers for you to enjoy down below, but they may also serve as a reminder to be careful on those streets. It’s a dangerous world out there, so be sure to upvote the pics you think are the best cautionary tales, and then if you’re interested in checking out Bored Panda’s last publication on the same Facebook group, you can find more bad driver content right here.

The Bad Drivers Facebook group was created in January 2018 and has amassed over 633k members since. Clearly, there is no shortage of horrible drivers out there, or Facebook users ready to mock them at every chance they get. But the page does beg the question: how are there so many terrible drivers out there? It must be a miracle that anyone can get to their destinations without a maniac with a mattress on top of their car or a Prius going the wrong way crashing into them.
In fact, it might be a miracle we get anywhere safely. According to the Bureau of Transportation, approximately 13 car accidents occur in the United States every minute. This means that annually, about 6.75 million accidents happen in the US. There are plenty of factors that increase or decrease a person’s risk of being in an accident though, including their age, the time they are driving, how the weather is and where they live. Apparently, Fridays are the riskiest days to be on the road, and for any other day of the week, the hours of 3pm-6pm are the most dangerous. It makes sense, as most people are commuting from schools or work during that rush hour time, but it’s a reminder to never let your guard down when traveling home.
These work even when people know they’re fake! It reminds everyone about what they *should* be doing, and that’s enough to work most of the time.
We have cardboard police officers in some shops for the same reason.
Load More Replies...when CB radios first came out i asked a highway patrolman if he hated everyone knowing where he was. he said 'no'. i can get on the road for 10 min. and they will be talking about me for an hour and it slows people down.
We had such carton police cars in Bulgaria years ago. Very frequently, behind the carton car was hidden a real one with camera or/and radar.
They have a better version of it with a 'robocop' officer standing right next to the robocar. There are everywhere in Turkiye. Nightmare.
Yes, also the robocop has a real flashlight pointing at oncoming cars.
Load More Replies...Down in the Florida Keys they put police cars every mile or so. They're real police cars you just don't know if there's anyone in them until it's too late to slow down. Just goes to show that we only follow the rules when we're being watched.
Kudos to the driver of the truck for taking the pic while driving, otherwise we would never have known!
Could be a right hand drive with the pic taken by a passenger…

Load More Replies...That's how it looks to everyone, not just trucks. I believe most states have a lights on when raining law.
Just was about to say the same thing. Turn your fücking lights on! And I'm referring to nitwits who are driving on a German Autobahn!
Load More Replies...FaithD, I don’t know if it’s true with all cars but my 2015 Jeep turns the headlights on when I turn on my windshield wipers. Also, from what I’ve seen, most cars just automatically turn on just day time running lights during the day and the full headlight system at night.
Load More Replies...some states have laws 'lights on when raining'. doesn't matter though - still some do it.
I recently found out that my new (to me) car has a setting where it will automatically turn the lights on when the windshield wipers are turned on.
Load More Replies...Holidays also tend to be the most dangerous times to be on the roads. Whether it's due to the massive amounts of people traveling, increased drinking and driving rates, or drivers being so relaxed that they stop paying attention, holidays are notorious for their increased car crash rates. During 2021, the holidays that saw the most fatal car accidents in the US were Memorial Day (the entire weekend), Labor Day (the entire weekend), the Fourth of July (the entire weekend), Father’s Day, Cinco de Mayo, Columbus Day, Mother’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Veteran’s Day.
Clearly there is a trend of three day weekends leading to devastating accidents. I would have expected New Year’s and Christmas to be on the list as well, but perhaps on Christmas, drivers tend to stay put the entire day. And I would hope that on New Year’s people are smart enough to use ride-sharing apps to minimize the amount of drunk drivers on the road. As funny as it is to mock bad drivers, it’s important to remember how dangerous driving poorly can be. One small mistake can ruin a holiday forever.
Don't worry, if they fill potholes like where I used to live, they'll be back in a week!
That was a promise, not a threat ( feels like a threat thought, amirite)
We need this sign around here....(near Boston, MA and it's notoriously bad roads designed by 17th century cows)
Funny. If the repair is not well done the potholes WILL reappear on their own at no cost to the taxpayers.
I think this is the best comment response I've ever seen.

I used to have a recurring dream that I was driving at night and could not see a thing. It scared the c**p out of me! In one of these dreams, I was following my SIL's taillights so I could get home and he started pulling away from me until I could no longer see his lights and I was again driving in the dark, unable to see again! When I told him about this dream, he laughed but I gave him hell for doing that to me!
Except... nobody will see this when the trailer is attached. How will they know what to do?
I joined my OTR driver for about 6 months. Boston traffic was the worst I have ever seen, but people in general have no respect for these huge trucks. Once in Boston, a car was trying to get on an off ramp and drove right into our drive tires. I guess that big old red Pete wasn't quite big enough to be seen! There was no accident, they just bounced off those tires like nothing happened and somehow went on their merry way! (In bumper-to-bumper traffic).
People have forgotten what the little blinky things are used for!! And oddly enough, it's the people with the luxury cars...Hmmmm!! Must be an expensive option!!!
Except when they're going right on a sharp corner had have to bang out to the left to keep from clipping a pole - stay the heck back period -
So how does someone become a bad driver? Are they doomed from the start or do bad habits creep up over time? We all needed to have a basic understanding of the rules of the road when we initially got our driver’s licenses, and someone had to sign off on our skills claiming that we were ready for the responsibility of the open road. Are people just great at concealing their reckless behavior, or are the employees handing out driver’s licenses just as bad at their jobs as some people are at driving?
Well, according to one study, being a terrible driver might actually be genetic. The study involved testing how well 29 participants drove on “a simulator that required them to learn the nuances of a track with difficult curves and turns”. 7 of the participants were born with a certain gene that limits the availability of a protein called BDNF. BDNF is responsible for “[strengthening] a person's memory by supporting communication among brain cells and keeping them in peak shape”, and according to lead researcher Steven Cramer, a neurology professor at the University of California, Irvine, the participants with this gene “make more errors from the get-go, and they forget more of what they learned after time away.” So it might not be your fault if you can't stay in your lane on the road! But if you have this gene, let me know, so I can be sure to steer clear of you.
Must be from the last time they locked the keys in the car. " I don't want to have to break another window like last time."
These three definitely do not qualify for Mensa.
Load More Replies...I could very well be wrong, but since this is a coupe, it most likely only has one moveable front door window and then a window that doesn’t open for the backseat—some of the back window isn’t taped over or broken, so I feel like maybe they covered it because it leaks water and not because it is partially broken out? Who knows!
I don't know why but I immediately pictured Kermit the Frog and Fozzie Bear on/in this
This is kind of cool, I'd love to sit in the little car - or take my cats with me
Certain groups of people are also more prone to being bad drivers. Stereotypically, elderly people are thought to be poor drivers, as their eyesight, memory and reflexes might not be as sharp as they used to be. But according to the insurance company AAA, young people might actually be worse. AAA conducted a study analyzing drivers from various demographics to see who was engaging in the riskiest behaviors, from texting while driving to running red lights or speeding. They found that over 88% of the participants between the ages of 19-24 were guilty of committing a traffic offense. In fact, almost 50% of this young age group even admitted to blasting through an intersection right after a light had turned red, when they actually had time to stop. But they do know right from wrong, as only 14% of this age group said they consider that behavior acceptable. Perhaps they are more of the “do as I say, not as I do” type.
Whoever had that license plate made is indeed a real an*s tart :).
Please don't tell me he's also using that hose on the horse. That will blast the hide off the poor creature.
Poor horse! That is probably too strong a jet. Remember that gets baked on dirt on cars. Amish not kind to their animals. :(

Absolutely. It's horrendous. Statistics are not kind in regards to sexual abuse either unfortunately.
Load More Replies...Trust me, no Amish worth the name is going to hitch a mustang to a wagon... They're too skittish, and can be quit aggressive.
It depends on the mustang. You can't generalize breeds. But that horse is a Morgan. I'll bet on it.
Load More Replies...Young drivers are more likely to text while driving or be caught speeding as well. Perhaps it’s because they are always in a hurry and used to instant gratification, but they just don’t seem to be able to wait to send a text or allow their trip to take 5 minutes longer than they anticipated. AAA found that drivers between the ages of 19-24 were 1.6 times more likely to read a text while driving and almost twice as likely as other drivers to send text messages while behind the wheel. This risky age group was also 1.4 times more likely than older drivers to speed by 10mph or more over the posted limit. It is natural for teenagers and young adults to feel invincible, but that’s no excuse for putting themselves and other drivers at risk.

Another reason some drivers make risky decisions behind the wheel is because they are suffering from road rage. While this condition does not require a medical diagnosis, the symptoms are obvious and can be detrimental to your health. People who are afflicted with road rage tend to tailgate, honk frequently, yell at other drivers, use profanities, and pose a risk to themselves and drivers around them. Whether it’s traffic or the behavior of someone else that sets them off, road ragers are more likely to speed and cut off other cars, leading to a host of dangerous accidents.
Can you imagine if this was NOT on purpose, and some poor soul has to drive aorund with a license plate like that??
Well we've found Leeroy Jenkins. His plans may not go well, but at least he still has chicken.
My sister refuses to buy anything other than Fords. She had a few hand me down Fords that shared a lot of parts for 2 decades. Yeah, they break down but she can fix almost anything in them now!
Huh? Me living in Europe considre a FORD being a solid car. I got disappointed by Opel and even VW, and I would for sure never by a Citroën again. But beside minor problems Ford has never disappointed, and I'm paying for spare parts/fixes 500€ instead of 5000€ (like it is common for Audi, BMW, Mercedes).
This was my first thought as well 😂 Looks like a good amount of space for ...... activities.
Load More Replies...When it comes to who is at a higher risk for falling victim to road rage, men are more likely than women. AAA reports that higher percentages of men than women admitted they have engaged in speeding, preventing another driver from merging, gesturing at other drivers, honking, driving through red lights and switching lanes rapidly out of anger before. But there is also a generational divide. People between the ages of 25-39 were the most likely to exhibit patterns of road rage. Interestingly, the summer is also the most common time of year for road rage incidents to occur. I would expect people to be more at ease if they are on holiday, but perhaps the warm weather really gets drivers heated, even in their air conditioned cars.

They still have to toe the wheels out so they are only driving in 1/2 inch of the inside tread
We have a neighbor with a Supra that has the loud muffler. I. Hate. That. Car. He starts it up & just sits in the driveway for 5 minutes, then slooooowly backs out onto the street. Then sits there for another couple of minutes before finally leaving. Another neighbor's daughter has a boyfriend with a loud muffler on his car, I think it's a Honda (?) - at least he only comes around once or twice a week & doesn't sit with the car just running. And they'll both be gone to college soon!
There will be no doubt in their mind when they have an accident. Maybe a few rhinestones....
Thanos would have a whale of a time if that went off and he found out the driver was Vision
The air bag is underneath, that part flips out of the way. If it did hit you, at the speed an air bag inflates, it wouldn't make much odds whether you'd stuck stuff on it or not.
BMW drivers aren't always the brightest- they never learn that the stick next to the steering wheel means turny-turn right or left
I don’t think they care about ANYTHING considering how many dash lights are on😅
The reverse is true when they pass you, then pull in front of you. Grrrrrr
Because bad drivers, or drivers in general, are so fascinating to try to understand, there is actually a field of psychology called Traffic Psychology. According to Best Psychology Degrees, “Traffic psychologists are involved in studying the underlying behaviors that cause certain behavioral actions and emotional reactions when behind the wheel. Throughout the stages of their studies, traffic psychologists are focused on increasing understanding on the processes by which drivers decide, control, and act when operating a motor vehicle. Traffic psychologists may conduct studies on the behavior of drivers on the road, the relationship they have with their cars, the routes that they often follow, and the interaction between different drivers. Studies are often centered on studying the human factors of attention, memory, spatial cognition, inebriation, anxiety, inexperience, stress, exhaustion, and distraction to investigate drivers’ experiences.”

Ok, i did a reverse image search and found more about this. It happened in Tirana (Albania). Apparently there was an accident between this bus and a car. The car landed first in the river, then the bus kind of rolled over it and got stuck in that position. The car had already been removed on this picture. On a sidenote, local authorities asked residents if they wanted the bus taken away or turned into a makeshift bridge, and 70% voted for the bus to stay.

And when it comes to what traffic psychologists do, Best Psychology degrees explains that, “Most often, traffic psychologists act as consulting professionals in the field of traffic safety for educating, encouraging, enforcing, and engineering new improvements in road systems. Traffic psychologists may be hired to work with organizations or government agencies in the transportation industry in an effort to reduce traffic dangers. Some traffic psychologists also find career opportunities for working in rehabilitation centers to evaluate and counsel individuals who have a history of repeatedly committing traffic-related offenses, such as drunk driving. Within the automobile manufacturing industry, a number of traffic psychologists are hard at work to apply their research findings to improving the development of new vehicles and advancing technology to enhance the safety of driving.”

When I was a bartender, the guys from a near-by shop would come in at lunchtime every day. One day, one of them kept asking me if I needed a lift and I said no, I had my car. John Oliver recently did a great segment on how the trucking industry completely screws over truck drivers. That's why there's a shortage in the US. It is now nearly impossible for truck drivers to actually make a living anymore. https://youtu.be/phieTCxQRLA
Tbh, I feel like truck drivers & trucking companies should be provided fuel for free. This would free up funding, products would be cheaper, truckers would be happier & healthier. The trucking industry literally keeps North America running. It's even how fuel is delivered. There is no reason other than corporate greed for why they can't do this.
Load More Replies...You could probably add a long list of occupations to that list.
My grandad was a truck driver. Ended up getting skin cancer on his left arm because that was the one that got the most sun on the driver's side.
My friends mom was a postal worker for 40 years and the right side of her face (in America the mail trucks are opposite so they can put mail in the boxes easier) is waaay more wrinkled and tan than her left side. Same with her arms. It's almost like the right side is 20 years older than the left side.

I thought I had placed it wrong, dad comes over (he had been a nascar car mechanic once upon a time and new quite a bit about cars). Nope, it was the right place, it was just that rusty! Managed to pump up the tire just enough so I could drive it to a junk yard, it smoked the entire time I drove it there, but I got an extra $30 for it being in "driving condition". Wish I could say it was the last time I bought america but at least it was the last time I bought Ford!
This is why when you get a car it should be mandatory to take a basic maintenance/ repair course. Just like a quick 30 minute to an hour demonstration showing how to change a tire, put in gas and where the fluids go under the hood (wiper, antifreeze/coolant and oil). Nothing crazy.
Not gonna lie... I would like this just for tailgaters. But the rest... seems like a lot and a decent way to get shot in some areas.

Another way to test your airbag! Hmm... That's got me thinking actually... Will the airbag work in the vertical position?
This happened to me once. The pin fell out and the trailer dropped on the freeway. Luckily no one was around us as the trailer violently swung side to side and slammed in the back of our vehicle. Will always use a locking pin from now on.
So is this the usual way a trailer is hitched in the US (I assume this is the US? Sorry if not). Because in Germany - and I think most of the EU - it is instead a hook-thingy on the car where you put a ... cap-thing from the trailer on. Basically like a ball-socket. It CAN detach but it's not hanging on a single pin like this one is (well.. there's also a safety cable that immediatly pulls the breaks when the thing unhitches and other features, and I'm glad to see this at least has chains)
