“Madame Web” Might Be Bad But At Least It Inspired These 30 Hilarious Jokes
Marvel’s new Madame Web movie premiered on February 12 before being released on Valentine’s Day, grossing $52 million worldwide and, essentially, completely bombing at the box office.
The Hollywood Reporter claimed the movie, which features big names like Dakota Johnson as Madame Web, Sydney Sweeney as Julia Carpenter, and Emma Roberts as Mary Parker, had the worst opening for a Sony movie featuring Spider-Man-related characters.
Moreover, the Reporter noted that the movie continued the trend of underperforming superhero movies from both Marvel and DC.
Madame Web currently holds a 13% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, 3.8/10 on IMDb, and 2.2/5 on Filmstarts.
Even the movie’s protagonist has seemingly echoed critics, as Dakota has said she hasn't seen the movie during an interview in the UK, while also essentially saying she's got no plans to watch it any time soon, TMZ reported.

I’m female and I LOATHE female characters like this. This is not how to “represent” or “empower” those who identify as women. I’m even a superhero comics/movies fan (grew up on the 90s X-Men and Batman) and I cannot stand superhero movies/shows like this :(

I think if you're going to make a movie with B (or C or D or whatever they are) list characters you have to pick ones that are visually interesting and have potential for a "spectacle". Guardians of the Galaxy nailed that. Most non-comic fans had no idea who they were but the visuals were great and the action sequences and humour carried the movie. If you don't have that then you'd better have a great script and great acting if you want to make it anywhere...

Don't even know what it is.. and could not read the text in the beginning. Because of 'dark mode' the text is black and background dark gray. And will kot change 😌

I was so looking forward to this and avoided all the trailers and advance commentary to be able to go in spoiler-free, so the eruption of horrified hilarity at it's awfulness totally blindsided me... I can't bring my self to watch it now 💀

Same. And I know some people are going to say Marvels and Web did badly because "Men can't handle female superheros (or women leads in general)" but that is so far from the truth. Madame Web is one of my favorite Spiderman characters. I've been screaming for years that Madame Web and Gwen need to make an appearance. Gwen was done really well, both in the Garfield SM movies and Into The Spiderverse. Madame Web, not so much.

WHY DO THEY KEEP MAKING THESE!? I think it's a tax write off cause they make loads of money elsewhere besides movies. We know Sony can make good movies if they try, like "Into the spider verse" But these are just awful. I only got three minutes into Morbing Time and had to stop it.
