It is probably impossible to find a food that everyone loves, there will always be someone who hates it with all their heart. Even the most common things that a lot of recipes may contain. It is interesting how different people can eat the same thing, but have a different reaction to the taste or even perceive it differently.

Even though the Latin maxim says that there is no point in disputing tastes, people love to give their opinions on food. Reddit user jamboamericano wanted to know people’s opinions on foods that are hyped up but “quite simply suck.” They received 3k responses so take a look at the most popular ones that quite a lot of people agreed on.

Consistently mediocre, albeit overpriced. If I go there for a cup of tea, I know about what I'm going to get for four bucks. In most locations, most of the year, I can order white hot chocolate with peppermint and cinnamon, and get as much. It's a safe bet.

Like a lot of shellfish, it has to be fresh from the ocean. If you have it in a tank at the supermarket where they just sit there it's not worth it. Back on PEI, Canada; 70% of houses are having fresh lobster on Mother's Day right off the boat. Can't beat it.

I also really dislike raisins. For me, it's the very strong flavour, and the wrinkly, chewy texture. Especially when they've been baked into something. I probably wouldn't detest them so much if people didn't insist on putting them in carrot cake (as far as I'm concerned, as soon as you put raisins into carrot cake, it's no longer carrot cake, it's fruit cake). For everyone who likes raisins; you do you. You can have all of mine!

I hated raisins until I got a food dehydrator and dried some grapes that I had too many of......OMFG......home made raisins and commercial ones are not the same thing at all! Its like the difference between wild strawberries and commercial, or hot house tomatoes and home grown, wild turkey to farmed turkey. Home made raisins are amazing! Really! Try them! .

I HATE raisins - but - my mom foisted her food dehydrator off on me recently because it "takes too long" to dry fruit (she is 78 and is still in selfish-instant-gratification mode, lol) I've got some Concord and green grapes (...that my mother also foisted off onto me, come to think of it...) and I'm gonna try dehydrating them! Thank you for the suggestion! How long would you recommend drying them for? The dehydrator my mom gave me is smallish and doesn't seem very strong/powerful.

What's not to like about raisins? They're simply dried fruit and they're sweet and good to eat. I don't eat them a lot, but when I do, they're good. I'm not fond of them IN anything - like don't give me a raisin cookie - but on their own they're a tasty snack.
