Some people, however, take things to another level, thanks to their questionable views of the world. And unfortunately, social media has provided a platform that emboldens them to spew their ideas to the rest of the world.

To begin digging and figuring out how a person’s sense of logic forms, we sought insights from registered psychotherapist and Health & Happiness founder and clinical director, Kevin Greene. As he told Bored Panda, it begins with a person’s exposure to something.
“For example, if a person enjoys French fries, it is because they have had them and it was a good experience,” he said.

Greene then explained how a flawed sense of logic begins, stating that it is usually when it remains unchallenged throughout the person’s life. The example he gave is when someone is raised to believe that all people from a particular country are their enemy.
And because they have not had any personal experience living in the said country, they will stick to the beliefs that have been instilled in them, while also rejecting all counterpoints.

Sometimes Basic Math And Simple Education Will Work
So, is it possible to put some sense into someone whose logic is decidedly skewed? Greene says it is, but it will take a lot of work. Apart from the increased reliance on social media, a significant challenge would be if this person shares the same beliefs with the people they are close to.
“To have this person change would require them to agree to challenge their beliefs,” he said. “This would require them to be given verifiable information from somebody that they trust.”

I am all for taxing the wealthy. Even hundred millionaires are a crime against humanity. But Musks value dropped because the companies he owned lost value, it's not all in cash, so taxing is only part of the solution. We need to drop out of the system that is designed to empower exploitation.

Simply put, it’s a way of selective thinking wherein our brains favor information that aligns with our preconceptions while also disregarding every contradiction, regardless of how logical they are. And according to Dr. Payne, it can reinforce a flawed way of thinking.
“Sometimes it can be confirmation bias that serves the goal of reassuring us that we’re a good person,” he explained. “It’s changing our opinion and taking on the new opinion.”

The lack of logic brought on by divisiveness could be due to the feeling that we are in “survival mode,” according to organizational psychologist Dr. Laura Gallaher. In her interview with Forbes, she said the negative news cycles only make things worse, and it is when optimism and positivity are much needed.
“We need to remember that we can still thrive in this environment,” she said, highlighting the importance of “shifting to thrive mode” and eventually retaking control of your thoughts and attitude towards the world around you.

Reading articles like this remind me that as bad as we think it is here in the UK sometimes, I don't have to worry about; Getting bankrupted because of an illness or injury, getting fired from my job just because, or being gunned down at work because one of my colleagues is having a bad day. Despite what many US propagandists say, the living standards for 99% of the population are higher here than in the USA and I feel truly sorry for you guys who are going through all of that right now, because 1/3 of your population voted for the moronic criminal who is now your president and another 1/3 of you simply couldn't be bothered to vote.

Realistically speaking the 1/3rd that didn't vote wouldn't have helped. It's used to justify voting for a third-party candidate, but in reality the split would still follow similar ratios to the people who did vote. The real killer was the two-party system we're running. It's just not a healthy system. There are a lot of people that despised Trump that voted for him just to not vote Democrat. The two side are bitter enemies and there's not *realistic* vent for when you're dissatisfied with both. The system isn't even built to properly handle more than 2 factions, which becomes clearer when you examine how they structure the house and senate in terms of parties. Not to mention the electorate college, which if you live in a deeply embedded state, it's basically the same as throwing you vote away to vote for the less popular opponent I mean this quite literally since If your state is overwhelmingly left or right, your vote will not be considered towards the party you voted for.
