I left my original, working Super Nintendo and a collection of games at my parents' house when I moved in with my husband. I assumed it was safe in the attic for the past 5 years. When I came home for Christmas this year, my brother tells me it’s ruined.
How, you ask? He had used it at some point apparently, then brought it back to my parents' and left it in the side yard in a plastic storage box. He said he’d check on it periodically, but never told me it was there. If he had, I would have flown home just to move it to the attic myself. From the comments section of the OP --- Nah my parents aren’t making her pay for it, she doesn’t have any money anyways all she does is lay in bed and watch Disney. She didn’t say anything, she was trying to throw books at me and then just turned and threw one right at my monitor, it’s a really s****y situation :/ I looked for months for just a simple monitor, it was hard because there was no stock coming here and everything was sold out because of people working from home, it cost a lot of money too and I barely got to play on it for even a month. The warranty won’t pay for accidental or criminal damage and repairing it will cost a lot, my hopes to get a replacement from the store.

I know his fear is irrational but he asked me to accept his rule, and if I don't, he’ll consider me disrespecting him. I don't know how to get him to trust her.

And she is right. Quiet down at night, no voicechat at night and be considerate of those who do work. You're rude to knowingly disturb her sleep. Even if she sleeps during the day: be considerate! I didn't even take into account the type of work she does which can be mentally draining as well as long shifts. Being considerate to people who work is what a "good person" does.

I blame the parents for raising brats. We were taught to respect stuff and each other. Our family were all on the same team and looked out for each other. Having said the my sister's eldest boy is horrible. Got into d***s and it ruined him.

In most of those cases, unless you're dealing with young kids, you should just have them repay for what they did. You break, you pay is the law everywhere, full stop. I for one would find a way to repay myself on their account if they happened to disagree.

Wow. When my sister & I were kids yes we'd fight but we'd never intentionally distroyed something of the other one; that's just wrong. Well technically my sister broke my back brace (I have scoliosis, had to wear it at night) when she was mad at me, but that was a different situation. She was a toddler & got mad at me for something so she threw it down the stairs & then jumped on it, breaking it beyound use.) Joke was on her though I HATED wearing that thing. So between seeing the pediatric orthopedic & getting a new brace made I didn't have to wear it for about a month. LOL.

I blame the parents for raising brats. We were taught to respect stuff and each other. Our family were all on the same team and looked out for each other. Having said the my sister's eldest boy is horrible. Got into d***s and it ruined him.

In most of those cases, unless you're dealing with young kids, you should just have them repay for what they did. You break, you pay is the law everywhere, full stop. I for one would find a way to repay myself on their account if they happened to disagree.

I admit I am shocked at what I have just read. There were 5 kids in my family and I never once saw behaviour like this, even when we had our (expected) disagreements over the years. Please someone tell me this is atypical behaviour.

Wow. When my sister & I were kids yes we'd fight but we'd never intentionally distroyed something of the other one; that's just wrong. Well technically my sister broke my back brace (I have scoliosis, had to wear it at night) when she was mad at me, but that was a different situation. She was a toddler & got mad at me for something so she threw it down the stairs & then jumped on it, breaking it beyound use.) Joke was on her though I HATED wearing that thing. So between seeing the pediatric orthopedic & getting a new brace made I didn't have to wear it for about a month. LOL.
