Loving how business owners & managers are starting to clap back at these idiots!
Good Grief Exactly
You Get What You Ordered
FINALLY AN OWNER WHO TELLS A CUSTOMER THE ACTUAL TRUTH. (ok I know like half of these are that but let me be happy) "will you please open your eyes" "mind reading the stupid is not one of our skills."
Some customers develop a deep sense of entitlement, a belief that their wants and opinions should automatically take priority, because they’ve been conditioned to expect exceptional treatment. In today’s consumer culture, businesses compete fiercely for loyalty, dangling perks like free returns, 24/7 support, and personalized service.
While these offerings can delight genuine patrons, they also send an implicit message: “You’re always right, and we exist to cater to you.” Over time, some buyers internalize that promise too literally, expecting limitless accommodations without regard for fairness or feasibility.
Imagine Complaining About This…
Parent Needs To Reenroll In School I Guess
Another Ramen Creep…
Social media and online review platforms amplify this dynamic. When one customer’s dramatic complaint earns swift apologies, compensation, and public sympathy, observers learn that complaining loudly, sometimes even dishonestly, can yield generous rewards. The viral nature of customer‑service callouts creates perverse incentives: a minor inconvenience becomes an opportunity to leverage maximum concessions.
Bystander Review
Oh, I have no experience, but I saw something, and misinterpreted it, and I'm in the RIGHT, obviously. Assuming is always dangerous. Have this even here on BP, when people knowing almost 0 about a subject, are eager to jump for judging and arguing about BS.
Where To Begin At This Kid's Play Area
Why Oh Why
As a result, entitlement flourishes, fueled by the perception that volume and visibility trump courtesy and goodwill. Personal psychology plays a role, too. Individuals with high levels of narcissism or low empathy are more likely to see service providers as faceless tools rather than fellow humans.

Omfg, I have seen examples f someone saying that they hate racism and someone else acting like it’s a personal attack
I'm Dying Lmao
Don't Be A Creep
They view every interaction through the lens of what they can extract, discounts, freebies, upgrades, rather than what reciprocal respect demands. For them, the customer‑is‑always‑right mantra becomes a license to bully or manipulate, because they feel no obligation to consider the stress and cost their demands impose on employees.
15 Minute Wait For Food Is Too Long
I Think People Are That Stupid
The idea would never have occurred to me. Bc it's obnoxious, entitled and literally makes no sense. They are a store not a moving company? Should I dig up the makers of my antique furniture and demand them relocate as well?
I bought some take out food the other day, ate it at home and threw the container out. Why isn’t the restaurant coming to take my kitchen trash outside? In my opinion all that restaurant does is cook and sell food. Don’t expect anything else after that 😂😂
Load More Replies..."They sold us some nice ground beef, but two days later when we were hungry they refused to help us cook hamburgers even after we offered to pay for it. So in our opinion alllllll they do is sell groceries. don't expect any else after that."
"We bought a bed, and when we moved, we asked them to do something they had no obligation to do. so in our opinion, all they do is their job. dont expect any else (I cant fix that grammar) after that
I tried really hard to come up with a comment, but this is just so far out there that I give up...
Several years after we bought it, we need to move a very heavy bed from one room to another so It could be replaced with a medical bed. We offered the owner of the furniture shop money to move it, but he insisted on doing it for free. (We had been customers of that store for 30+ years, and he was a former student of mine.) The workers he sent out did get well tipped for their 20 minutes of work.
U bought it, it's yours and nobody else's responsbility. Or has that never occurred to you?
Wow The Entitlement
Cultural factors contribute as well. In societies that emphasize individual rights over collective responsibility, consumers are taught from a young age to advocate for themselves at all costs. “Know your rights,” “don’t settle for less,” and “if you’re not happy, take your business elsewhere” become battle cries.

What A Great Ad For This Attorney
While these principles protect against genuine mistreatment, they also foster a transactional mindset in which any perceived slight is grounds for escalation, rather than an invitation to dialogue or compromise.
This Is Insane
Superbowl Sunday
I refuse to go to a restaurant within ~ 15 mins of their closing time. It’s 8:43 and they close at 9:00? We’re picking another restaurant lmao 😂 I’ve had friends argue with me about this but I refuse to be THAT customer.
No Sh*t Phil
Finally, inconsistent enforcement of policies can deepen entitlement. When companies bend the rules for some customers, expediting a return past the deadline, waiving fees, or offering special treatment without explanation, it creates a patchwork of expectations. Future shoppers assume they, too, will receive the same exceptions, even if they don’t merit them.
Annoying Receipt

Imaginary 1 Star
This inconsistency erodes trust in fair standards and emboldens customers to demand preferential treatment, convinced that leniency is the norm rather than the exception. Understanding why some customers become deeply entitled doesn’t excuse poor behavior, but it does point toward solutions.

OP NEEDS gluten free, but will take regular if they are free. I think the clerk's response was appropropriate.
Clear, consistently enforced policies; empathetic yet firm communication; and a balanced approach that values both customer satisfaction and employee well‑being can curb entitlement before it becomes toxic. In the end, healthy commerce relies on mutual respect: customers who appreciate good service and companies that deliver it without encouraging unreasonable demands.

There is a bathroom obviously for the staff to use. But is not allowed for guests to be used. If some accident happens over there, those parents would jump to sue.

In Europe, we try to season our food well enough so it can be enjoyed without having to smother it in a white, goopy substance so we can force it down our throats. And maybe one day the errant colonies will advance enough to learn to operate the cutting edge technology that is "the knife"...

Oh No. Why Don’t You Let Us Do What We Want?
My family has done several birthday meals out at restaurants and brought our own cakes, because we call and ask in advance if it's allowed. And we like to leave some cake for the staff if they want it! It's quite simple, their establishment, their rules. We would never just take a cake in without asking first.

Officer Not Happy
This is currently languishing at position 78, and it's the first one where I thought the complainant had a point. My business doesn't have a public lavatory, but if a police officer, firefighter, ambulance crew, nurse etc asked to use the loo, they would most definitely be allowed.
How Will They Know
All their fault? 1. WHO has the allergy? 2. All ingredients in a dish are not listed on the menu.

A lot of people have trouble with the notion of opening hours don't they. I mean, I've always thought the clue was in the name.
"I showed up 30 minutes after closing and they wouldn't serve me!!!”
So many entitled gaslighters out there who are not in touch with the real world
Personally I think the state of Arkansas is awful. I helped my kid move away from home. After driving 1100 miles to the door of her new place, I was heartbroken. Wanted a drink, but was left without a car...at the hotel she dropped me at. Walked to a gas station and went to grab a beer, or anything. Clerk yelled that they couldn't sell liquor on Sunday. Was it really Sunday? Fortunately, the hotel clerk had a partial bottle of wine. It helped, but I still cried myself to sleep. No, I don't blame Arkansas for my broken heart, I blame my insensitive kid for dumping me at a hotel without a second thought. The state is beautiful. I'd love to go back and see the sights.
