Dating is complicated. After all, being selective has never been easier with the myriad of dating apps and websites that let you filter people based on their descriptions. But let’s say you decide to go for it. You message back and forth, awkwardly wait to be asked out, think of different conversation starters… only to discover that the person you’re interested in is way too picky to begin with.
So today, we’re diving into the not-so-pleasant incidents where people ran into dates who were ridiculously entitled. From insisting you own waterfront property to demanding a free Korean BBQ dinner, some people have unrealistically high standards.
We have combed through the internet and collected some of the best stories of people who think they inherently deserve more than anyone else. Continue scrolling and, if you’re up for it, be sure to share your own experience in the comments below. Also, check out our most recent posts about entitled people right here and here.

He Had A Date With Destiny, And She Ordered The Lobster
Guy Went On One Date With A Girl, Waited 3 Months Of No Contact Before Deciding To Pick Out Every Insecurity She Probably Has About Herself. Claims She Hurt His Ego, Then Proceeds To (Kind Of) Ask For A Second Date
“Dating is the discovery period of getting to know someone. It’s an opportunity for you to decide if you want to continue seeing this person or if not,” Elizabeth Overstreet, love strategist and relationship expert, told Bored Panda.
She explained that if you discern that someone is entitled, you have options. “You can decide to proceed in this relationship or to move on. It’s better to know sooner rather than later and it will help you increase your self-awareness as you continue the dating process and figure out who is the right partner for you.”
When asked how to interact with people who think they inherently deserve more than anyone else, Overstreet mentioned that they might be feeling some inadequacy with themselves. “It’s important that you provide boundaries with them. Treat them the same as others. You may even feel some compassion for them too.”

You’re an athlete only if do athletic things. You’re a writer only if you write, a singer only if you sing. And you’re a nice guy only if you actually do nice things and are nice to people!
Girl On Tinder Wants Korean BBQ
“Often, people who are entitled are not the happiest and even at times are insecure. While you shouldn’t allow their entitlement to rub off on you, you can show them by setting boundaries with them and treating everyone equally,” the relationship expert said. This way, you can shine a light on “how their behavior is actually not the right way to do things” and show them healthier ways to treat others. “However, realize it’s not on you to fix or alter who they are as a person”, she added.
Whether or not you can see a future with an entitled person is ultimately your decision. Overstreet wants you to understand that “in a relationship, while a person may make some changes and be impacted by how you treat them and the behavior you model for them, they inherently have characteristics and behaviors that are their blueprint.”

First One I’ve Run Into On Tinder
If that person would want to become mindful of others, they need to become more self-aware and have a desire to change who they are as a person. “Otherwise, the change is temporary.”
Elizabeth Overstreet asks you to remember that dating is a trial period to get to know someone. “You can learn a lot in the process of what you want, need and desire and what isn’t the right fit. That is what should make the process less stressful. Take your time, enjoy the ride, and allow things to build organically. The best relationships are built over time,” she explained.
Cb Mad Because Her Date Won't Buy Meals For Her Kids

Sounds Like A Dreamy Guy To Date
Bored Panda also reached out to Emily Zitek, a professor at Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations, to learn more about why some people think they deserve more. “Entitled individuals view themselves as unique, and they believe that they should receive rewards and benefits, such as more money, better grades, or preferential treatment, regardless of their performance or effort in comparison with others,” she explained.
According to her, a sense of entitlement could come from lots of different sources. Previous research has shown how messages in the media, an organization’s culture or reward system, or certain parenting practices may contribute to the development of a sense of entitlement.
Unsolicited Feedback From My Sisters Date. Spent The Whole Time Talking About How Smart He Is, And Ordered A Kids Meal At Lunch
Women who work are a turn off? Who can afford not to work these days seriously? Single income families are rare, I actually don't know any. Also I'm the breadwinner in my family and my husband does part time work whilst looking after the kids. These people need to get back to the 50s
Yes, Because Paying For Someone’s Food On A Date Means That You’re Entitled To Get Some
“Furthermore, having a high status in society” and being told you “possessed a rare skill” could also lead to feeling more privileged. “Thus, it seems that one reason that people may become more entitled is that they have received a message … that there is something special, valuable, or worthy about them,” the professor said.
While we might hear talks that entitlement in our society is getting more severe, Zitek mentioned that there is a debate about this among researchers: “Some people think the data indicates that entitlement is going up, and others think that entitlement is staying the same.”

And for the love of God, never come within 20 feet of me at a hospital!!! MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL??? I choose death, thank you very much!
Load More Replies...Medical professional? Sorry, Karen, crystals and essential oils don't count.
I was thinking receptionist at a hospital or something else doctor / nurse adjacent, but she does say spiritual so you might be right.

Load More Replies..."Gimme gimme gimme a man for a servant. I don't like to pay for anything myself"
But who wouldn't want to date a Trump loving furry?! (obvious sarcasm if that wasn't clear)
First impressions are important. First paragraph: "I Like Trump." 'Nuff said.
Most men dont have regular hair, massage, and nail appointments or expect their girlfriends to wash and maintain their cars...but I could be wrong lol.

At least he'll run out of partners in the next 2 years as everyone's waterfront property disappears.
My basement floods sometimes. Is that waterfront enough? She wouldn't even have to leave the house.
I am a little concerned that many people in this comments think, this were a man's profile.
Look lady, I'm gonna break it to you gently: you want Bruce Wayne. Bruce Wayne isn't real. And if he were, he's way too into Robin to be interested in you.

Is there anything else you desire, dear Queen of England?
I mean yeah, this sounds like every MAGA asshat, but am I the only 1 lost on "love fur people"??? Do they really like "furries", or do they mean "for" bc proper English escapes them... I'm for some reason really confused by that, but sadly not surprised by the rest of the B.S....
This lady is too much. Me and the above ground pool that I own will just enjoy someone else's company then .
This is like one of those home shows where the people want a 300,000.00 dollar house for 100.000.00
Funny how so many of the comments assume the OP is a man when she's obviously a woman. Sexism, anyone..?
I love it when people post this type of nonsense but can't even be bothered to share a photo of themselves...
LOL, I get the feeling that it would be nightmare fuel! But Trumpers can't be picky.
Load More Replies...Wow. Have I been doing dating wrong this whole time? 🤯 some if these demands are next level outrageous.
"Not Everything Is About You"
Zitek found that entitled individuals “are more selfish, follow instructions less often, are more likely to think things that are unpleasant for them are unfair, get angry about bad luck, and are less likely to comply with the health guidelines of the pandemic. But on the flip side, people who feel entitled can also be more creative and better at getting what they want in negotiations.”
He Kept Asking Me On A Date Even After I Told Him I'm A Lesbian
Jonathan, The Choosiest Of Tinder Beggers
Needless to say, interacting with such people can be challenging. The professor mentioned that individuals who have to deal with entitled others report lower well-being and burnout. If you ever find yourself in such a situation, you “should remember that this person’s claims are not based on merit and that if [you] reject this person’s request, the person will likely get angry/upset.”
“However, in one of my papers, we argue that just giving in also isn’t a good solution because it could lead to more entitlement later,” she concluded.

Well if you can't send her the money she wants/needs. Then STOP wasting her time. She needs money; not your pathetic help! 🤣 Good grief what a rude b***h she was. I hope her car did get towed, and I don't even know her.

Social media has unveiled a lot of freaks that need professional help. The mask that a screen provides gives them wings to reveal their true colors, at least that gives time to analyze them before meet them. But oh boy some folks are f***d up. Stay safe and look for red flags, friends!
These freaks already existed offline. What do you think catcallers are doing?
Load More Replies...Some random dude messaged me on Facebook saying hi. He looked decent enough so I replied. After a few short messages he asked for a photo (not nude). I said I won't do that. He asked again and I didn't answer because I was at work and really busy (which I had already told him in the first few messages). He then asked me if I was sleeping. I said no, I'm at work and can't really talk. He asked again for a photo. When I said I'm at work (for the nth time) he got really mad and started calling me names, like 10+ messages of ranting and name-calling, all because I wouldn't send a photo And then he blocked me lol
They always start being polite but when they get a NO they go apesh!t.
Load More Replies...Honestly having tried it and found online dating to be awful, I don't know what's worse trying to hold one sided conversations with matches or some of these lovely examples above but clearly there seems to be a massive difference between tinder in Scotland and tinder in the states. Though to be fair it seems to work well for some and then for others its a massive algorithm scam designed to get cash from people who are lonely and looking to meet people. No excuses for some of the absolute melts who are on there though XD
How is Tinder in Scotland compared to the US? Just curious :)
Load More Replies...Once again, waiting for the incels to show us what a-holes they really are lmao. They'll be here any minute!
I was talking to some guy, he seemed nice and polite but when we made plans to meet up for coffee he kept resheduling (work called him in, he forgot he already had an appointment etc) and suggesting he'd come by my place after work, late at night, instead. Told him I wasn't comfortable with that, he kept asking, so I told him look I have a lot going on right now, sorry but it's not happening. All is well, he seemed to take the hint. A couple of months later I got a message asking how I'm doing etc, I told him I'm not interested. Got a couple more messages, ignored him first then blocked him. Six months later, a friend request on Facebook. Ignored it. Two years later (just recently) another friend request out of nowhere. Idk if hes just a very polite stalker or just very hopeful, he's def been more presistent than is normal but not really so much that it's been a bother.
It's still awful and also a bit stalker-like. Take care Potato.
Load More Replies...Despite the issues my marriage I'd currently having, I am so happy not to be single and trying to date. I think I'll give him a hug. He's my jerk, but I adore him.
Seems COVID is not the only pandemic floating around after reading through these... Boatload of people seem to be highly insecure. I would never make fun of it, I've been there! Just sad really. Mental health needs to be taken w a y more seriously!
People give description of the person they are looking for like they are an amazon package or something, I mean come on
If she has booty and +115IQ, I could prolly manage
Load More Replies...Good Lord, I'm so glad I'm married smh. Y'all single people be safe out there and good luck!
