Relationships—we’ve all been there. To some degree, anyway. And though it’s to some extent rainbows and butterflies, romance and all that good stuff, it’s also in part being dumb and making mistakes ‘cause we’re all human and relationships are hard, man!
Well, former journalist Christie Smythe’s recently confessed her love for Martin Shkreli, former hedge fund manager and now convicted felon—securities fraud and racking up HIV meds’ prices by 5,000%—explaining how she left her own husband for Shkreli, quit her job, and even froze her eggs for him.

Some people are just don't have the mindset or heart to listen to lyrics or understand the meaning of your playlist. For me that does not make you a dummy. It makes you one of a dying breed. A true romantic.

He would put engagement rings on my finger, take them off, then say, "I don't know why you think our relationship is more serious than it really is." I continued the relationship a few more months until he told me he would be working 6 days a week, on his day off he'd be doing laundry and would have no time for me. He expected me to sit by the phone and wait for me to call and be ready to run back into his arms. Finally realized he was a pompous-all-about-me jerk and I deserved better than that.

Thank you bored panda: an article that actually makes me feel good about being single. This was a great reminder of how awful intimate relationships can sometimes be. Definitely don't need any of that crap in my life!

It’s amazing how challenging it can be to even love a good person, let alone these incredibly shîtty people. I’m not single, I’m actually in the best relationship of my life but it’s still not always easy. I don’t blame people for wanting to go alone, but I also understand why people like me want companionship.

of all the times I felt fortunate I was born Aromantic and not crippling disappointment why I'm not "normal", this is one of them. man, relationship is too big of a gamble to make it worth my while.

it really is a gamble :( you never truly know what you got unless you put some time in it first (also why im always worried when i hear ppl get married after 1-2 yrs of relationship)

I dated somebody who convinced me that me asking "can I call?" was intrusive and selfish. never mind the fact that he had me asking permission to make a phone call to him.
