Librarian here, I honestly just love to see people read. Trashy romance novel? Fan fiction? Graphic novels? Kafka? Go for it. They all have value. I’m not saying they’re all good—I’ve definitely read romances and fanfic that should’ve been tossed in the fireplace instead—but every genre has some amazing works. Wth’s wrong with Colleen Hoover? “It Ends With Us” is second-to-top on my to-be-read stack.

And some people in an entire generation wait for the movie to come out so they can pretend to be like the others and then the book publishing world only publishes books like the books people pretend to enjoy and no one realizes this is happening not even when the general public hates the author for being TERFy ….say your truth. Own your truth and you don’t need to lie and say you love to read if you like movies instead because readers will suffer for decades.
