Here's the thing...criminals get noticed...corrupt politicians get noticed...out of control celebrities get notice. Getting noticed isn't always a good thing. Especially if you lack humility and come off as a pompous entitled person because then you get noticed for all the wrong reasons.
From my experience women are the worst enemy of other women. I grew up with a sister, work in a field with a lot of women around - and the majority of the conversations is gossip about how bad some other woman is.
My sister noticed that too. She became an HVAC tech in a field predominately occupied by men. She said men may tell vulgar jokes and can be a little too flirty, but they will never gossip about you or stab you in the back the way female co-workers do.
