My dog used to do that all the time LOL at first we bought the cats wicker baskets and the dog would try and sit in them and ended up breaking them all LOL this was the look on her face every time.

Because domestic cats are mostly solitary or only like smallish groups, whereas canines, even domesticated ones, are essentially pack animals and therefore copy behaviour from the rest of their pack.

The ones sitting on the fence amd roof is something new to me, the rest, i've seen a lot of dogs (who didn't grow up with cats) get comfy in carton boxes and sit and lay down atop shelves .
