Geez, it’s the basement, that’s the creepy crawlies’ home, let them be!
Just yesterday, I took a painting from the balcony that got a clear coat prior to masking, in order not to rip of the more sensitive kinds of paint used there, like metal colours, sparkle and so on ... and I found one little spider hat gotten trapped on it, but was alive, still. She'd grow to be about 3 cm long (body only), but had just reached like 3 mm. I removed her as gentle as I could, but still ended up amputating two of her left legs, so she now has six remaining, the two hind legs to te left being torn off. I'm sorry. I don't want to do that, I don't see why I should harm them. I like spiders, actually. I spent about 10 minutes removing her, and not amputating ALL her left legs wasn't easy ... and still, I don't know if she made it, or will make it, as she can walk of course, but walk just as good as before, she won't for a couple of growth cycles (depending on where the leg is torn off, it may be able to regrow), ... and those $&/%%s do that, deliberately and unprompted. AHs!
I leave the spiders in my house alone, as long as they're not in/on my bed or in my shower when I'm using it.

They look like common house spiders to me... Once in a while one will sprint across the carpet and startle me. If I find one in the bath, I will use a glass and piece of paper to trap it and release it outside in the back yard.

Well, I for one like spiders. Glue traps are just plain cruel. They prey on harmful pests in your house and garden. I only put them outside if they're in danger of being eaten by my cat.

Those are definitely wolf spiders. Recluses look similar in shape, but you can also tell by the legs. Recluses have long slender legs while wolf spiders have the thicker legs pictured.
