It's in Staryi Solotvyn, Ukraine. And this webpage on the village has other buildings that look just as intriguing: https://travels.in.ua/en-US/locality/18417/staryi-solotvyn-village

Would it be weird to say I'd love to live in an abandoned amusement park? Because if it's weird, I won't say that.
The vegetation adds a nice touch. Add a pinch of imagination, and you can just see them prancing across the scene of greenery.
For some, old and abandoned locations are sort of like driving past a car crash, most of us will at least look, but for some, it’s a fascination. Generally, the things we see are representations of when everything goes right. Abandoned and broken things are the fail state, something less commonly found out there.
It’s a unique opportunity to see the effects of time, from peeling and decaying paint, to the impact of nature on man-made structures. Some folks are fascinated by the eeriness of the structures, or perhaps like documenting the signs of human day-to-day life before the entire place was left alone.
An abandoned estate left behind in Poland
Another one purportedly for sale. From the witcher reddit: "Finlay44: For those interested in the backstory: The Zobeltitz Manor, located in Glinka, Poland. Built in the late 18th century as a home for a noble family. Renovated in the early 20th century. Unfortunately, the owners fled during that little scuffle those wacky Nazis started in the 1930s, and didn't feel like coming back once the Reds took over. The mansion and its grounds became state property and, since no one in government had any interest in the place, fell into disrepair. It's actually for sale. If you're interested, contact the Agricultural Property Agency in Warsaw."
That's Francis Dolarhyde's place. "You are privy to a great becoming!"

Absolutely beautiful! It's said that an Arab group bought it for just over 15 mil.
After all, when someone says they are into urban exploration, we tend to understand that as investigating old, mostly unused buildings, not just walking around a city. While some part of urban exploration is just a desire for adrenaline, as these locations are generally closed for a reason, it is still very human to want to discover something new and unseen.
Interesting: "Scola Tower, also called the Tower of San Giovanni Battista, is a military structure located in the Gulf of La Spezia (The Gulf of Poets) in Liguria, Italy. Lennox Castle was built in the 1830s and later converted into what would become an infamous psychiatric hospital. The hospital had 1200 beds and has been compared to American Horror Story: Asylum, due to the allegations of abuse, neglect and horrific conditions. Lennox Castle Hospital finally closed in 2002 leaving the institution’s sad history to be forgotten. In 2008 a fire destroyed most of the building, leaving it as you see today."
Incidentally, Marie Clear, thank you hugely for the info you are providing!!

Abandoned Villa Du Satyre in Italy
Why are so many of these in Italy, was there A big event causing these to be abandoned
I did a quick search of Google, and some of it started with immigration 100 years ago because of economic reasons, natural disasters in the area, cost of renovations (leading to a tipping point of just letting it go because you may not be allowed to demolish an historical building), multiple people inheriting the building and unable to decide what to do until time passes and no one wants to spend money or one person holds out for not selling..

So many beautiful abandoned places in Italy. Wish they were preserved and open to the public for viewing as a tour of ancient Italian architecture. I would spend all my money for such a tour!
It will cost more to preserve it and make it safely accessible than could be earned by such tours
Load More Replies...Any idea how far it is between these places? And they got so many because they got roughly 3000 years of human settlements. They can't preserve and open it all. There are loads of tours all around Italy, austria, Switzerland, Slovenia,... that show "The Lost Places" of the region. I really enjoyed and still enjoy lost places but I like to "find and discover" myself. Come visit "the Alps" and its surroundings and take such a tour. You will probably love it.
Because this one doesn't look like a haunted mansion at all. 👻😧
And the clock is to let you know of your time of death...
Load More Replies...Well, the simple fact that it has a clock over the door to tell visitors how late they are arriving (or to wait outside if they're early) tells me this is in Germany and not in Ireland, the land of my people (who are always late, and no one is very bothered by that). Unfounded and overly broad generalizations about cultures aside, you could visit this on the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf Neighborhood Walks which feature local architecture. At least in 2010, the neighborhood walk notes don't mention anything about it being abandoned, and the front door was a LOT nicer than this photo here.
An old villa left behind in Italy
I was just there in October - this isn't a villa, this is part of a mill complex smack in the middle of Sorrento, Italy. Walk down main street, and there's a bridge, not over a train line, but over this cleft in the earth. Very surreal. It's a flour mill from the 13th century and a saw mill. When they built that central square in Sorrento, the Piazza Tasso, this very low lying area was cut off and then abandoned. But super weird to be strolling down the busy tourist-filled street from the main square, look over a railing, and this is down below you. The photo is taken looking over the railing from the busy main street.
I loved Sorrento, such a neat city. I'd seen urbex reports on this mill and it was such fun to see it in person, and yes absolutely surreal to be standing on a sunlit bridge with the bustle of life all around and look down on this darkly gloomy and quiet piece of history.
Load More Replies...I remember this spot from our walking tour in Sorrento. What a lovely city. We went in November and it was a bit chilly, but not a lot of crowds.
You have some sort of thing against actually learning about these places?
Load More Replies...I think this one is Forte Richermo, in Pieve di Teco, Liguria, Italy. They're bunker forts in the Italian Alps, and there's definitely more than one in this style. Some you can enter and tour (the gap between the walkway and door is covered for access by a drawbridge in the doorway).
War planes left behind in a field
The ones in front look like Antonov AN-2s so this must be former Soviet territory. Can't make out the insignia on the side though. Those look like Mig-15s behind them and after that, I'm not sure. I can't make them out.
40°11'14.8"N 116°21'44.5"E Copy and paste this into Google earth. It’s in China. Some AN2 float planes, some MiG jets, a couple of Li2 (Dakota built under license) if you widen the Google earth image then you’ll see loads of other interesting aircraft. I enjoyed finding this info, there’s a world of misinformation out there that I filtered through!
It’s the China Aviation Museum in Beijing btw. Have a look at the photos that are on Google earth. Higher resolution but sadly not of the collection seen here.
Load More Replies...Oh, I found this bigger picture of the same area: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=214110961594684&id=100089873431161&set=a.110517861953995
The insignia looks like China, but with only the yellow background left. I think the red inner color of the star and bar is worn away. But the yellow bars and star are the exact outline of the roundel of the People's Liberation Army Air Force.
Look up Beijing Aviation Museum or see the co-ordinates I’ve posted. Your identification skills are a little lacking.

autumn colors in an abandoned monastery
This could have happened in China, but it happened in Turkey. More than five hundred nearly-indentical castles appear to be copied and pasted into this Turkish hillside but not a soul lives there. Developers meant for these uniform villas to be luxury vacation homes for healthy tourists when they began construction in 2014. However, when the company went bankrupt in 2018, investitors pulled out of the deal which put constuction on hold.
Yeah I LOVE going on vacation so I can be CLOSER to strangers! Lol
Load More Replies...Well, it might be abandoned, but before the developer went under, you too could have owned your own fairy castle for between $370,000 and $530,000 US. A bargain! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burj_Al_Babas
Did the developers not maybe consider wealthy people, or anyone for that matter, would not find such structures even remotely appealing? They could have asked a few rich people what they thought of the idea.
As noted in Marie's link, half the houses sold in advance.

The park was an open-air museum where people strolled among the heads, gazing at the enormous size of them. But a lack of visitors caused the park to close just six years after opening in 2004. Instead of allowing the busts to be demolished, Howard Hankins, who helped construct the park, claimed all 42 heads and lugged them back to his private family farm for safekeeping until someone could think of what to do with them. With each bust weighing 22,000 pounds, it took nearly a week to move them all just a few miles to the large field where they now sit, and some of the heads sustained minor damage to the backs of their heads and noses. You’ll find every president here today (excluding Obama, Trump, and Biden) on his farm rotting away exposed to the elements of nature

I went here in the 1990s. They had a chair lift like you see in those crazy photos where it looks like the people can easily fall out. They had staged gun fights in the streets and you could get your picture taken like you were in jail. Not a lot of attractions but it was a good time for kids.
At one time this old Victorian mansion from the 1880s was a local family’s pride and joy. Their Buick Centurion 455 convertible still sits out front and a pair of matching Impalas nearby in the yard. Sadly, the mansion and cars are now covered in graffiti and completely trashed. When explorers don’t share locations, this is one reason why. It’s too hard for people to appreciate the beauty and history of a place without destroying it

This is Villa Cosulich, in Trieste, Italy. Apparently, it's smack in the middle of a nice public park with gardens, and the gardens even have areas for kids. But the building is obviously done for. Another shame - not enough tax dollars to keep it up. In fairness, though, you can't walk a step in Italy without tripping over 2,000 year old stuff, so a villa that was built way after Jesus might have visited isn't going to be high on their preservation list. I can't imagine what Italy's preservation budget runs.
It is a sport to avoid paying taxes. There are many contestants for the few that do come in, old buildings with no special significance are indeed no priority.

So many châteaux, churches, monasteries and chapels that it's impossible to preserve them all. The villages and small towns they're in do their best, but without grants from the state it's hard. And some are private properties that just aren't maintained any longer.
Indeed. Also, the law in France makes it very difficult to refurbish heritage buildings. You need to resort to specific workers ("architectes des Bâtiments de France") who are allowed to plan renovation so as to keep the building in its original shape. But it costs so much, many people can't cope with it and are not allowed to renovate by themself.

Hemmoor Kreidesee, Germany. It's an old limestone cement quarry that was abandoned and turned into a scuba diving venue. Taken from Deserted Places instagram feed. They provide very little information sadly, you have to rely on comments to get any information, mostly people don’t comment with anything useful ☹️ https://www.instagram.com/deserted.placess?igsh=MTRqZTVic21ud2xuMA==
Load More Replies...Understood about not giving away the location but a decription of what a lot of these are would be nice without having to reverse Googling 100 or so images. Some really neat and beautiful stuff here.
I've created an App to list ALL the abandoned places in the world: download "Abandoned World"
Special thanks to all the pandas who provided more information about each of the photos.
Am I the only one that thinks that so many of these places could be restored and house so many people in need. There are so many war refugees living in camps, homeless people on the streets, orphanages filled to the brim,... These places could be given a second life while giving those people a second chance as well.
The cost to make them habitable would be far greater than any new build, and the running costs colossal. Not to mention that they're mostly in bad locations with no infrastructure, no jobs, no opportunities... There's a reason they're all abandoned.
