He'll also need snow booties! My Dobie wears booties when we go the beach (his pads got burned once~very painful) but they also protect from the cold.What a handsome lil' fella!

This is just beautiful, color is so pretty esp for the color of fur. Well crafted, lovely stitching (pearling, whatever you call it). Nice job and he looks like he is enjoying it - as all these animals seem to feel.

A sweater works by helping keep your body heat in. Since a snake does not produce body heat, the sweater would not keep the snake warm except maybe to protect it from direct contact with cold surfaces. I don't think it's practical for keeping it warm, but it is cute.

Because birds aren't supposed to be confined in houses/condos/flats/whatever? They are supposed to be free to fly around nice places without limits. So they are stressed out, have disorders and the result can be this.

Way to go! Not everyone can make overreaching judgements based on one image. There is no way this could be a rescued lemer who needs extra care and no lemer babysitters were available on short notice so that the rescue owner could go pick up some essentials for the rescue...

Animals have been given blankets etc to warm them for years. It's just that blankets that didn't really fit that well transformed into sweaters, better designed to stay on as they frolic. The penguins for instance are given the sweaters to stop them dying after being injured during oil spills (the oil prevents their feathers from being water proof which exposes them to the cold).

It depends on the animal. My vet advised I put coats on my dachshunds when they play in the snow or they could get become much too cold.

Many of the animals need sweaters to keep them warm because they lost their fur or feathers, and pups without or with only little underwool and/or very short fur and/or short legs (then the belly´s close to the ground) need a sweater or coat either, and also some kitties who can´t keep their body temperature upright, but to be honest: No guinea pig needs an ugly Christmas sweater, and healthy cats don´t need a sweater either, oh and that lemur and the other monkey, or the hedgehog??? I hate when people keep wild animals as pets, here in Germany it´s illegal, Justin Bieber´s monkey´s been confiscated at the Frankfurt Airport a few years ago and sent to a Berlin zoo instead.... But th story of Australia´s oldest man knitting tiny sweaters for penguins who´ve been rescued from an oil spill went viral about a year or more ago!!! Even The Animal Rescue Site posted about that...

Humans wear clothing because man sinned in Eden and realized they were naked. Animals never sinned, which is why they usually don't wear clothing.
