With over 300 recognized dog breeds today, you'd think that the breeding process and the outcomes of it are already firmly systematized and highly predictable. Alas, that is not really the truth. And though the whole dog breeding thing dates back around 5,000 years, mutts are still surprising both with their looks and character traits, so we here at Bored Panda would like to share the most awesome mongrels that we could find.
Not only are mixed-breed dogs supposedly healthier than their purebred counterparts, but they are often superior in cuteness. One might argue that no other dog but a husky takes the cake in dog beauty standards, but to that, we raise a Pitsky, Alusky or a Chusky. And if you think that a short-legged, long-bodied Corgi is the most adorable, then how about a Shorgi, Dorgi or a Corgidor? And if you have a predicament that a Poodle is the most royal of the bunch, take a look at Jack-A-Poo, Cavapoo and a Goldendoodle. Sure, there's a fan for every crossbreed dog, but we would like to just own them all, because how can you choose just one if they're all the most adorable puppers ever?

They are all super cute but is this messing with nature? I know sausage dogs as well as many other have so many medical issues from very early in their lives because of the genetic modification. But so very very cute.

Probably one of the huge poodles. One of my aunts got one named pingo (Portuguese for drop - as in water drop as it was supposed to be a micro toy). Turned out to be the largest one I've ever seen not only tall, but also "bulky".

This could be a tricky personality mix. Chows are aggressive guard dogs, Shepherds are herding dogs. You could easily end up with a much bigger, rotten tempered animal.

Fun fact, a English Pointer mix of Dalmatians was done by Americans trying to fix the breed in 1970. A so called pure dalmatian has so much acidity in it's urine, that many die from it. Stones form in their bladder even while they are just born. 2009 The cross looks just like a pure breed, yet the clubs and so called breeders wont allow them. 2009 was also when one woman brought a few tot he UK to try and cure the inbreeding issues.

Most purebred Dalmations are dumb as a sack of hammers, too. Golden Labs aren’t much better, I’ve seen them get lost at the end of their own leashes. ...///... Breeders have destroyed so many breeds by going for looks that it’s sick. These WERE wonderful dogs. Now they might as well be bookends.

I’m pretty sure that they mean pit bull, not bull dog because of the features. (Pit bull = box shaped muzzle, large barrel shaped rib cage, leaner body shape vs bull dog = flat short face, wrinkly muzzle, short legs, wider larger stature)

My uncle has a lab couple. Last time Bella was preggo we found out she somehow had intercourse (is it right to use this word regarding animals?) with one of the neighbors Rottweilers, as one of the 8 puppies was completely a Rottweiler, not only fur pattern, but the bone structure. Never wanted more to live in a house than to adopt him...

My favorite!! I owned one for 13 years, and still miss her terribly! My darling Missy. What a character! So much personality! Everyone adored her! Truly a special breed. She had the 'pansy' Yorkie face, a wavy coat and loved to chase squirrels. Very much the terrier. Great watchdog! Would love to get another one!

Breathing and eating . It's sad that they were bred to have a flat face when in fact they were not suppose to. They may be cute to some or all people but they do have problems that should not have been aloud to happen. There is nothing wrong with pugs they were bred that way, Not to breath and get food in their noses. Poor things.

I hope these were by accident and not to create more new breeds. There are way too many dogs bred like this to achieve dogs with traits that are not compatible with a good quality of life. They need to stop breeding pugs and bull dogs, and sorry, even most Frenchies. If a dog can't be conceived naturally and delivered naturally, the breed has gone too far down the wrong path and the dogs suffer tremendously. Same for cats, except they don't have giant heads that can't be delivered naturally.

She is Blacky. She lives with my mum and her mother is a mini dachshund and her dad is the neighbors labrador. She is already 12 now and has some grey hair, not so many teeth, but still loves my mother to the moon and back. <3 168668_180...14816d.jpg

Crossbreeds and mongrels are absolutely the best thing for the dogs. Deeper gene pool means healthier dogs. Many breeds have health problems which nature removes when given the opportunity, and of course these dogs are all gorgeous.

Yes. That's one of the reasons I love mutts (and crossbreeds) as pets. Some breeds make sense as working dogs (sled dogs etc.) but even then you have to be careful they're not overbred
