They don't have to. It's on record when your phone pings a tower. They just need a warrant and they know exactly where you've been and when.

The fact is that they can but it would be a huge data dump and waste of resources. They selectively track for evidence in criminal cases and fugitives are tracked this way pretty effectively. If you are not up to anything or on their radar no worries. However if you have history of being in interesting company or places, even if innocent they could easily add 2 and 2 and get 5 making your life a living hell. The more terrifying prospect is stalkers with access to your phone records, gps data from usage or internet sites usage and internet history, that is way too easy for the determined and I hate that the most.

Now that DOGE has access to most all data, including FBI and NSA, and is turning it over to Palantir for analysis, a lot more is possible.

They can, but it's not worth the time and effort involved. They track people they're interested in and the rest of us are just tracked retrospectively if we become suspects in something via them getting the data through a warrant.

It's a pretty indeterminate method of trying to k**l someone, people survive crazy accidents and it's a 50/50 proposition the car will hit the right object at the right angle and spot to ensure actual death. It does not seem feasible, especially with the immediate public response and life saving actions plus all the accident sites scrutiny.

Also she and Dodi mostly died because they weren't wearing seatbelts (which is why the bodyguard did survive) so how do you guarantee that? And the driver was drunk which means even if he was in on it (which since he died is unlikely) his behaviour is completely unpredictable. Like you say way too many variables.

The car had been modified (armoured) badly and with seatbelts it would have been possible to walk away - too many factors needed to fall in line to make it anything other than a tragic and preventable accident,

I used to think this was dumb. Case Closed made an excellent case against it. But the assassination attempt on Trump has me a bit more shaky on this one. I'm more inclined to think that the Trump assassination was more about people not caring if he were killed than participating in planning it. There was a "conspiracy" of sorts: LBJ did not want another Communist Scare, and so the government deliberately smokescreened and played down the certainty it was Oswald and that he had been in contact with the Soviet Union, and instead, the Warren Commission just stirred up as much confusion as possible.

We do, but the necessary infrastructure isn’t there to enable it. Most of the workers were skilled craftsmen, not slaves, so were capable of working quickly with the tools available. Now, if you want *really* amazing structural engineering, look at the walls and temples of South America, where the stones have lots of curved joints that fit together so perfectly that a thin knife blade can’t be pushed into the joints; they’re not just square blocks stacked on top of each other.

Not a conspiracy theory. This one comes from some of the sharpest minds in Physics, and its based on the fact that matter is astoundingly unsubstantial, phsyical laws don't work at the quantum layer, and when you therefore look at the material world as a form of information and suppose that the universe will collapse into one big black hole eventually, all of reality is just the projection of matter off of black holes. The chief problem with this theory is that the universe doesn't appear to have nearly enough matter to collapse back into black holes.

I admit some aspects could be suspicious if you read them in a certain way, but that is how conspiracy theories work: they cherrypick real events and link them together with paranoia and fear. We simply have to admit that, sometimes sh¡t just happens. I think some people will get some confort in thinking that is was an inside job rather than the alternative: the most powerful country in the world, with the largest army and most expensive security measures could possibly be attacked in a civilian target within its territory by a fringe terrorist group in the other side of the planet.

There is an old saying, "if more than one person knows, it is no longer a secret". Most people have an urge to tell others things that they know. Like the Moon landing, any planned 9/11 scenario would have required the input and participation of hundreds, more likely thousands, of people. The odds of everyone involved keeping such information to themselves, for decades, are infinitesimal. That is the hanging point for most conspiracy theories, there are too many humans involved to make it perfect.

Of course they collapsed the same way, the cause was identical in both cases - a large, fast flying jet with a lot of highly flammable and explosive liquid on board, punches a huge hole into the side of each building, compromised any fire retardant materials used to protect the steel structure, high temperatures soften the steel structure until it could no longer support the thousands of tons of material above, causing it to collapse in on itself. Once it’s moving, gravity dictates it won’t stop. The structure of the towers was basically a vertical spine carrying the floors internal walls and the external walls which were more or less concrete cladding - sheets connected to the outer frame to hold the windows in place. It’s not a difficult concept to understand, if you know anything about how moder high-rise towers are built.

I’m sure it’s been talked about, God knows there’s enough science fiction written about it, but humans just can’t get along with one another for long enough for it to work - it inevitably collapses under its own dead weight of arguments and useless paperwork.

Hitler was the first politician to publicly use the word "New World Order". His way of achieving that would have been to conquer a continent and have Germany be the center of the world. The Soviet Union wanted to spread Communism across the world to basically achieve the same goal. Bush sr also used the word "New World Order" publicly. A New World Order is not exactly the same as One-World Government, I understand, but people often see it as the same thing. A New World Order is not necessarily a bad thing, it depends on what the goals are. A One-World Government, on the other hand, would be a disaster, and it's unfeasible anyway. I doubt anyone has ever seriously considered the possibility of it. The furthest people have gone, and sometimes achieved it, was to just become the continental or global superpower, not to directly rule over the entire world.

Of course there are rich people who have more power than others. But it's not a conspiracy that has everything under control. It's very powerful people fighting among themselves for power. They have a common interest in keeping the poor and working people down, but that doesn't make it a conspiracy.

Dunno about the Simpsons, I’ve never watched it, but the writer William Gibson certainly wrote about things that came about afterwards, he coined the term Cyberspace in his early works like Count Zero and Neuromancer, but he was reading a lot of technical literature and was aware of things like DARPAnet and the work of Tim Berners Lee, who developed the software protocols that formed the WorldWideWeb.

Area 51 is an Air Force base where they test and train new technology and pilots etc. In other words, it's a testing/ training/ experimental base, hence why it's a top-secret facility. During WW2, the Germans experimented with disc-like aircraft that kind of resembled flying saucers. Remember, this was before helicopters were really a thing. After WW2, both the Allies and the Russians took technology and scientists from defeated Germany back to their countries. It's highly likely that what people in the 50s saw (if they even saw anything) was not UFO but instead experimental aircraft the Air Force was testing before settling on the helicopter for military purposes.

They managed to keep the F-117 a secret for years; when one crashed during testing, the site was cleared as much as possible, but fenced off and guarded to prevent any possible fragments of the specialised coatings used to help its stealth performance. Area 51 is still used, but there’s another site deeper in the desert that can’t be overlooked, unlike Groom Lake. There’s lots of empty space out in the Nevada desert…

It’s an area prone to hurricanes, rogue waves, and other ocean hazards, so of course ships go down and lives are lost. Plus, it’s the ocean, ships sink and are buried in deep sand on the ocean floor, and are considered lost as if they just disappeared. But they’re there. You just have to look hard or wait for a heavy storm to shift the sand off them. Lastly, if you use the number of lives lost as the only qualifier, you could very easily create a “triangle” just about anywhere.

I would possibly believe it could be a weird anomaly caused by magnetic ferrites, weird sea currents and large stores of frozen methane that sometimes occasionally erupts causing the water to lose most buoyancy. Instantly sinking ships or causing planes to stall and fail. But no magic or aliens.

I made the passage Atlantic Ocean-Duluth and vice versa in September of 1972. I found the lake freighters too narrow to my liking, compared to their length (ratio 1:10), while an ocean going ship is much wider (ratio 1:7 or 1:6). 'Edmund Fitzgerald' faced a near-hurricane storm, developed a bad list and was overwhelmed by waves. The master FAFO. An ocean going "might" had survived.

Yeah, but that's through selective breeding of similar plants or animals over a long period of time. Genetic manipulation is just going too fast with too little understanding of what they are actually doing IMO.

The truth is practically we have been doing this for thousands of years through cutting and patching and mixing different breads. Modern genetic modification is not that different is it? (From the shady scientist patching strawbery genes with SARS cov in the dark lab)

Define 'giants'. The tallest living man on record stood 8'11.5 inches and was still growing at the time of his death. Is that 'giant'? Because by that definition, yes, humans of that size or similar definitely existed throughout history.

It's interesting how people think that we've been getting taller all the time, but that's only true for the last couple of thousand years. In 16000 BC for instance, people were actually taller than now.

The hunters/gatherers of the past had better nutrition than the farmers after the Agricultural Revolution (circa 10,000 BC). And this chart proves it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Human_heights_over_the_long-run,_OWID.svg

I pretty much doubt it, but it is interesting that pre-agricultural humans were larger and healthier than agricultural ones, for a really long time. And that many Bronze Age and Iron Age cultures had stories of giants in the long ago time.

They got Stanley Kubrick to direct the footage to make sure it would be believable. Now Kubrick, the professional that he was, decided to do the shooting on site so it would be as realistic as possible. Anyway, jokes aside, Exactly this what you said. No way the USSR would have just accepted what America says without believing it happened. And I'd say it would be impossible to keep such a secret between so many people for so many decades.

As I understand it, it was discovered that people in towns which naturally had relatively high levels of fluoride in their water had less tooth decay. Nowadays, with the widespread use of fluoride toothpaste, people sometimes get too much fluoride. It's a trade-off. (Same with chlorine in water.)

You stole my response, but I will elaborate: chlorine (along with many other things we encounter daily) is a known carcinogen, but it is in every public water supply. Do you want dysentery now or the chance of cancer down the road? Do you want strong teeth or to gum your food by your 50s?

Perioral dermatitis is a thing. It takes months to get rid of,, even with treatment. It makes you miserable, and can make things you did not react to before cause flare-ups. Since I stopped using fluoride toothpaste years ago, at the suggestion of a dermatologist I have not had any more incidents.

There were vapour trails in the skies over London in the 1940’s, caused by propeller driven fighter aircraft and bombers flying the high-level daylight raids over Germany. It’s water vapour, same as what comes out of your mouth on cold days, and combustion engine exhaust pipes as well. Any trace chemicals in jet aircraft exhaust is purely as a result of burning kerosene and minute amounts of lubricants used in the engines. Anything else could seriously compromise an expensive engine, and possibly destroy it.

Again, Badum, tish, and thank you, I was about to say the same thing! There’s a spit of land called Brean Down, just south of Bristol that sticks about a mile into the Bristol Channel. At its highest point it’s 97m, 318 feet above sea level, and you can sometimes watch the huge ships carrying cars into Royal Portbury Dock at Avonmouth. With binoculars, and some patience, it’s possible to actually watch them disappear gradually over the horizon, something that would be impossible if the world were flat. With a wide enough horizon, it’s possible to see the actual curvature of the earth.
