It's often said that drawings, no matter how good, can't fully reflect reality. Sheila R. Giovanni, a Brazilian from Bebedouro, São Paulo, begs to differ. She draws extremely high-detailed colored portraits of well-known celebrities that are indistinguishable from a photograph, or perhaps even real life.
What makes it even more impressive is that she does all of her work only with colored pencils, which requires extreme precision. It goes to show that the quality of her works is anything but illusory and random. Over the time she has gained 244k fans that think so, too. But as always, truth is in the eye of the beholder. Can the artist travel centuries back in time? I always wondered what historical figures actually looked like. Portrait artists' work from back then lack facial nuance and it's hard to imagine that's how the models actually looked like (even Holbein models).
