And this time it's about rude people, who just cannot ever feel satisfied, mainly because of their huge sense of entitlement.
You know the saying 'beggars can't be choosers?' It turns out it's wrong! Some people, when receiving generous help with their everyday problems by strangers, choose to push for more instead of showing some of the deserved gratitude. And these people, my friend, are just the worst. While some of the helpers decided to kill them with kindness, others delivered the best comebacks for the ungrateful.

Wow, this bringing in of people in need. I remember I had one buyer online who tried to tell me the tablet I was selling was for her sick mother she cared for. After a few dialogues she lost the story and told me about something else. Being confronted with the incosistency, there were no more replies. Depicable people who want to give you a bad conscious.

I had a similar experience like this on eBay--I was selling 3 brand new, still-in-package sets of Hello Kitty lights (on strings, like for Christmas or around your room), and some lady begged me to knock down my price and hold them for her until she had the money so she could buy them for her daughter's birthday party. I agreed, but she kept stalling and stalling, and I told her if somone wanted them for the full price AND PAID FOR THEM, I was going to sell them to the other person. Well, that's what happened, and of course, *I* was the bad guy for ruining her daughter's birthday party, because she PROMISED her daughter she'd have them. Maybe I'm wrong, but I have a hard time feeling bad about this.

I was living in the US and used to see a lot of veterans at intersections holding cardboard signs asking for money or means to go on with their lives. I always felt so deeply sorry that they had to endure a war, literally having their lives on the line. One day I found a guy who looked older. I pulled down my window and handed him a $20 and said "Thank you for your service, God bless you". He faltered. Looked me in the eyes, but accepted. No 'Thank you'. As soon as the light went green, he banged on the side of my car 3 times and yelled "Go away! You're stealing our jobs!". I was shocked. I had been relocated from my country to the US *by the North American company* where I used to work because my specific skills were a fit for the position. I was not 'stealing' anyone's job. I feel so sorry that Veterans have to go through this, after all they have endured. They should have proper social and health care. His rage was not against *me*. It was against the lack of dignity he deserved.

Unfortunately, some of these panhandlers are dealing with mental illness. I've seen them fighting over who gets what corner to beg from. They can be angry at life or just whatever.

A "friend" came over and told me a sob story about how he was going to lose his car because he gave all his money to charity that month (yea, right). The man is able bodied, so I offered to help if he would agree to help me paint my house. He signed a contract that detailed hourly rate & all. He worked off about half the money I gave him in advance. Then he skipped town without a phone call, an offer to pay at a later date when he was back on his feet, or an apology. The jerk had the nerve to call me up ten years later saying he was moving back in town. He said he needed a place to stay. He said he needed money to rent a storefront and open a business he wanted to start. Hmmm...He didn't ask for help, he just told me his needs. I was supposed to leap to the rescue of the poor dear. This guy only expects the best out of his friends. Funny how he won't give so much as a phone call in return. I told him to give me a call when he was settled in, and we could go for coffee ...

Once I stepped in at the last minute to teach a cooking class when the regular instructor was stuck in traffic. When he thanked me I made the mistake of saying "no problem!" which he interpreted as "no need to pay me!" 4 hours I will never get back

On a reverse of this, I made a relative a necklace as a gift and someone asked her where she got it. She told them it was handmade and they asked her if I would make one for them, they would pay $50 for it. Without even asking me she told them no because I am too busy to sell my crafts, it's just a hobby. It is just a hobby, and her piece was the first one I made, but shouldn't it be my choice who I make items for?

I was selling a wardrobe for $200 (it was an antique and worth a lot more but I'd had ZERO luck selling at higher price) and some guy contacted me expecting me to knock $120 off the price cause he had to hire a car to come get it. I said "not my problem mate, if you can't pick it up I'm selling it full price to someone who can".

Recently, when moving, I listed a bunch of stuff to give out for FREE (receiving end to pay shipping, but I still have to pack them and ship them out), including $200+ handbags and $500+ home appliances, all in good condition. I could just donate them to charity, but I would like friends and acquaintances to enjoy them, because I sure did when I had them! I also listed them on some message boards, offering them to strangers. In the end, not one of those "friends" who took my stuff even sent a "thank you" message after receiving the items, while the complete strangers took their time to thank me and tell me the stuff are useful to them...

We are just about to move and have put some stuff we don't want for very low prices online. I was selling a school bag at half the price it was bought for, almost perfect condition. A woman asked for it for $4 and said that was ok, because frankly, I prefer not to waste things. Then the lady said I had to bring it to her....to catch public transport to her location would have cost $2 and taken an hour return. Thank you but no thank you.

It's actually not something I'm used to seeing, especially the online convos(I might be wrong but I think this kind of sh*t is less widespread here because people on the whole have lower life standards and are usually more grateful for what they do have/get) so that was a very entertaining read. It makes me wonder...are those like op unique cases or is this actually a common kind of attitude? This whole attitude...it's like very very infantile and it seems that's becoming a common thing in modern adults, especially in developed countries. With the coddling to kids' whims, with whole 'you can be whatever you want and do whatever you like'(yes, but there are certain limits to this...), with generous social support...to an extent all these things are great and much needed, but is this actually what we are getting on the big scale? A generation littered with people who want the world to comply to their every whim, adults with mentality of 5 year olds? That's alarming...

It's a common attitude, just not quite on this scale all the time. People complaining about getting the wrong gift, wanting a specific free coupon, complaining about free content not being as they expect, things like that.
