All of us want to do good! And with all that's been happening in the past few years, every kind deed is more than welcomed, no matter how big or small.
From spying on your friend's Spotify to check on their emotional state to disrupting an anti-abortion protest, there are plenty of ways to let people know you care. Some even choose very chaotic ones. As if they're acting solely as their conscience directs them, without any concern for what others expect of them.
The subreddit r/chaoticgood is exactly the place for all of you do-gooders whose methods are a little disorganized. This online community with almost 180K members is the place for you to post your chaotic actions.

No, You Get Candy!
The moderators of this subreddit explain that chaotic good is a character that "values freedom, for herself and others, and views the welfare of all as her business. She cannot tolerate cruelty or intimidation, and works to dismantle hierarchy and domination.”
Like stealing another person's underfed dog in order to save its life. Or dressing up as the Grim Reaper to remind people that there's still a pandemic going on. These are only a few examples of how this community does the right thing with little regard for laws and regulations.
Absolute Dominance
One of the subreddit's main symbols -- its name -- is a clear reminder of a popular fantasy tabletop role-playing game called Dungeons and Dragons (commonly abbreviated as D&D or DnD). As the title suggests, it's a magical world of over 300 creatures like giants, dragons, warlocks, dwarves and many more.
First published in 1974, D&D has long been part of popular culture and still remains one of the best-selling games in the US. During its forty years of history, the developers have created captivating board and video games, also novels written by its fantasy authors.

"We Have Found A Witch, May We [applaud] Her?"
As stated in their official website, “The core of D&D is storytelling. You and your friends tell a story together, guiding your heroes through quests for treasure, battles with deadly foes, daring rescues, courtly intrigue, and much more.“ In short, one player, the Dungeon Master, facilitates the game, controls the monsters and narrates the story. Others develop the characters and improvise on how they react to the story.

Feel Like This Belongs Here
It's a great place to be anyone you want to be. Not to mention a perfect environment to discuss the concept of good and evil. Dungeons and Dragons even has an alignment system to help you create your little fantasy creatures. It also helps you categorize your character from an ethical and moral point of view.

Chaotic Friend
Stealing A Person's Dog So It Can Actually Live
In the original version, players were allowed to choose among three alignments: lawful, chaotic and neutral but since then it has evolved into nine alignments (and a 10th option for creatures operating on instinct, not moral decision-making).
Guy Does To Bank What Banks Usually Do To Other People
Youch
Chaotic Farming
You've guessed it, Chaotic Good is one of these alignments. In the official player's handbook, its even got a nickname—Rebel. These type of "creatures act as their conscience directs, with little regard for what others expect. Copper dragons, many elves, and unicorns are chaotic good“, as is stated in D&D's basic rules.
What Is Up My Fellow Homosexuals?
Genius Idea
Chaotic Rub
To get an idea of what such a character would look like, we could imagine a modern-day Robin Hood. Rebelling against authority as a way to protect the poor from poverty and suffering is one of his key traits. On top of that, he believes that the only way to do good is to dismantle the hierarchy and he can never be tied down to any organization.
Holy S**t
What To Call Your Straight Aunt's Husband
This is why it took me about 20 years to realize my aunt was a lesbian. To be fair, she moved 2000 miles away when I was 10 or so, and I didn't see her for ages, but Steph was only ever her "...friend".
maybe Im too old to get the hashtag thing but I had to read this 5x to get the point
I have no idea either why there are so many hashes in this post.
Load More Replies...What's with all the hash tags? Can't anyone write a complete comprehensive sentence anymore?
Apparently this is tmblr etiquette, you add 'additional thoughts' and tangential things to the hash tags rather than make a new comment. Never seen it before, but the folks at reddit were just as confused as us, so someone explained it there (I may not be getting all the nuances). So this entire post would have been an addendum to some other post, written in the hash tag box.
Load More Replies...Nope. It's common for homophobic families to call same-sex partners "friends." This person was sick of her aunt's partner being called her "friend," so she's started calling all spouses/partners in her family "friends."
Load More Replies...People.... it's not hashtags.... they're tags on tumblr... they just look like that and are remarkably hard to edit... chill
What the f**k is up with the hashtags in this? You don't just randomly throw hashtags in. That's not how they work.
I had an aunt who lived with her "friend" for decades. They died before marriage equality, but based on my family's remarks, that still wouldn't have changed attitudes.
This is so funny! In my family a have a cousin and everyone calls her LITERALLY WIFE her friend. As a result, I’ve been calling all my straight relative’s spouses their friends. Is aunty sue and her… friend jerry coming? Oh. Will Brian be bringing his… friend Sarah?
It’s crazy how family tries to “protect” kids with whatever bullshit. Severe medical issues? Dont mention it. Someone died? Keep quiet. Someone is in love, hush. I mean really? Give kids some slack for once! I wish I knew when my great-grandmother died!!!? Not 3 years later “oh the funeral was 3 years ago” I would have acted differently if grandpa was not “sick but getting better”, but “he has cancer and might die in a few years”. And yes my godmother is lesbian, and I didn’t know, though, I never cared, not before I knew not now that I do. Had some of my happiest memories at hers :) What I learned was: honesty is most important to me. Family can’t be trusted. Live today, but think about tomorrow aswell.
I had to read this twice before I realized that OP wasn’t saying that they referred to the spouse as “LITERAL WIFE.” I spent a few brain cells trying to figure out why they would do that.
If people find it awkward calling them wife or husband, why not just call them partners, or is that offensive?
The bigots will most likely not use this either because it acknowledges the relationship between two women as fair and valid. And the gay couple/ally will not use this for the straight married couples because that would also validate those relationships. Sometimes you gotta fight fire with fire. If their marriage makes them friends, yours does too.
Load More Replies...The amount of # in this #Drove me crazy. #Why can't #People just type out #what they mean? And then, the hashtags don't even make sense. Like you hashtagged "This" and #in and #is. I don't think they #KnowHashtags
Chaotic Good Burglary
Well, supernatural beings and fantasy worlds aside, we all know that it feels good to do good. The concept of “good“ might be thought of as something worth having or doing and enhances the life of those who possess it. But as the moderators of r/chaoticgood say, good is a relative term.
Amazing

Here Come The Furries
When we help others, we actually help ourselves. According to Dr. Stephen Post, "The evidence for the benefits of giving is now extremely powerful, and suggests that healthcare professionals might wish to recommend such activities to patients.“ Helping others fills your life with happiness, improves your health and can even make your life longer, as his research shows.

Another study came to a very similar conclusion; “doing good” may be an important avenue by which people create meaningful and satisfying lives. That's why so many people participate in meaningful activities such as volunteering. This only confirms that pleasure-seeking behaviors do not bring us as much happiness as... making others happy.

So it seems that the ends justify the means after all. It all becomes even more magical when the nature of chaotic good acts become alive in real life. Just remember, kind deeds make everyone feel a little bit better, so do one whenever you get the chance. Even if it's in the most chaotic way possible!

Good Guy Tipper “Doesn’t” Tip *wink* *wink*
I used to be a carpet fitter and one day an old lady gave me a tip of a folded bunch of notes. When I got in the van instead of £1 notes she had given me ten £20 pound notes. This was in the mid eighties and was probably the equivalent today of about six hundred pounds. I went back to the house and her daughter had just turned up. When I told her she said it wasn't the first time it had happened and gave me one of the notes. I worried about it for quite some time after.

The world is full of very good people, and these are the ones we need to hear more about.
Example: The case of Hamburg-based politician Andy Grote, who was insulted on twitter as a "Pimmel" (lit. "d**k" although slightly different connotation... but fairly tame as insults go). Police went full force against the writer of that tweet - search warrant, phone confiscated, all that noise. Because someone called a politician a d**k on the internet. Made the news all over Germany and now there's a subtle war raging in Hamburg with people leaving stickers that quote the tweet all over the town. Put up a huge sign, even. Police keeps removing them or covering them up... but, unbelievably, they keep reappearing... ;)
Load More Replies...once, my friend (who lives in the south) f*cking scaled a building to steal and burn a confed*rate flag :D
your friend is amazing! Tell them thank you for their hard work!
Load More Replies...An example of chaotic good that I would do: breaking into peoples hoses to pet their dog and leave positive sticky notes behind
That didnt happen for me, might be a problem on your end, I think it's been happening for other people too. .maybe you can contact the help line?
Load More Replies...Yes. just like those 'criminal' partisans and "terrorists" of WW2. Nothing but shameful lawbreakers. There is a huge difference betwixt law and justice.
