30 Times Car Owners Had Such A Terrible Day, They Went To The Internet For Comfort
There are few things more terrifying than when something happens to your precious. By ‘precious,’ I mean your car, of course. And by ‘your,’ I mean that you may or may not have just made your final car payment before something horrendous happened to your beautiful gilded horseless carriage.
It might have been your fault; it might have been a darn seagull that dropped a catfish on your windshield (true story); it might even have been the Universe that messed up. But either way, some car owners are having such a horrible day that they can loudly proclaim that it sucks (and it’s way worse than yours)! So it’s no wonder that they posted their experiences on the ‘Well That Sucks’ subreddit.
Check out the photos of some of the best worst car disasters that Bored Panda collected below and remember to upvote the ones that made you cringe or forced your heart to skip a beat as you scroll down. Bored Panda also contacted the 'Well That Sucks' moderator team to learn more about their subreddit, so check out our interview with one of them, redditor Chaos_a, below. Car Crashed And A Parking Ticket
With over 2.3 million members, the ‘Well That Sucks’ community posts a bit of everything for everyone. The subreddit is dedicated to all the unpleasant things that happen in life and make us say, “Well, that sucks,” and has been up and running since the Spring of 2013.
Chaos_a attributes the vast popularity of the 'Well That Sucks' community to crossposting. "The creator of this subreddit went around making posts with 'cross post /r/wellthatsucks' in the title. It's a pretty common tactic on Reddit and clearly worked out for us. They gained enough [attention] to get the ball rolling. Redditors must enjoy joining in on other peoples minor miseries, and we've grown to well over 2 million users since then," they told us.

It's Not Just Junk Flying Out Of Your Truck. It Could Be Someone's Life. Secure Your Load - As If Someone You Love Is Driving Behind You
Well, the defining difference is that in reality, people get hurt.
Load More Replies...This is why I won't drive behind anyone with stuff sticking out of the back of their truck. I once watched a truck with a little trailer attached, with a city logo on the side, with boards with nails sticking out, just driving around town with nail boards bouncing off the trailer. they didn't even try to strap them down.
Also don't tailgate. If you don't have time to dodge something that flies off the car in front of you, then you're too damn close.
Exactly! Whenever I'm behind any truck with a load I imagine the worst case scenario and keep a LOT of distance between us.
Load More Replies...I have always had a nightmare scenario playing in my mind about a large truck tipping over on the motorway and falling onto my car when I drive by them (especially the extra tall ones) in high winds... a few weeks back I saw the results of my scenario as a truck had toppled onto a delivery van and crushed half of it on the opposite side of the road (three lane highway).
If you are behind a truck with unsecured load, stay far, far back. You should always keep a safe distance. Stay even further back than that. In my home town an ANVIL (yes, an anvil) bounced out of the back of a truck and killed someone. Shame on any drivers who don't secure their loads.
This makes me so anxious. I hope the people that were in that vehicle were not hurt/killed.
Obviously this is the fault of the driver who didn't secure their load, but this is also why I stay well back from anything like that
There was a horrific accident exactly like this some years ago with school children on an excursion. The bus met a truck with a load that was not properly secured in a curve on the road and several children were beheaded. Gruesome to say the least. Always see to it that the tires are good and that any load is properly secured.
Reminds me how I should be EXTRA careful when I carry my junk to the dumpster:
I don't know if it's national or not, but they enacted a law in WA state after this same very thing happened to a woman. She ended up losing her job and home because the insurance company wouldn't cover her medical expenses. It took YEARS before she was finally compensated.
Holy mackerel, how did this board go through the metal as well? And barely missed the drivers head!
Yeah! wow. I often dodge thin rods expelled from the back of work trucks that are not secured. Luckily my car handles well enough to dodge them and speed up to give the driver a stink eye.
Had a wheel fall of a truck once and wreck my parents' car. Had to go to court to get the damage paid
And that it why I am terrified of driving behind an open truck. I knew I'm not just paranoid.

If you think that getting into an accident is scary, imagine how much trouble you can be in if you don’t have any insurance. But navigating the world of car insurance practically requires a Master’s Degree, a wise and friendly mechanic, or an engine-minded uncle who’s been behind the wheel since he was tall enough to reach the gas pedal.
If you’re living in the United States, then the most important coverage is your state’s minimum liability and property damage coverage, writes The Balance. Remember, you have to pay your insurance so that you can drive around legally. And you can land in hot water if you don’t. You can get fines, be eligible for damages, and might even get sued if you get into an accident without insurance.
However, there are plenty of other types of insurance that you can (and might want to) get: physical damage coverage, comprehensive coverage, collision coverage, and others. It can make your head spin. So get to grips with all of your financial things before you end up having a worse day than others. And don’t forget—if all else fails, there’s nothing shameful about riding a bike to work!

Load More Replies...Paint on a car isn't a nightmare to remove if caught in time. I woke up once to find my car spray painted with graffiti, however it was simply removed with a wet cloth. I'm pretty sure a power washer could remove a lot of the paint in these photos, if not all.
about a couple of years ago or so, my mom got a new windshield, and a week later our neighbor's/landlord's tree broke in a storm and a huge branch fell on our truck. he was supposed to pay, but he did a crappy job and now our passenger door sounds like the window is cracked all the time and when it rains it starts to leak from the sunroof unless we put something up there to stop it.
My car got stolen and the person got into a minor wreck in it barely any damage but it was found in Atlanta, I live in Kentucky. And I had to pay nearly $200 to get it out of impound even tho it was stolen and not my fault.
I was on a bus going through the Sydney airport when a woman carelessly opened her car door right in front of us. No-one was hurt, but the door ended up looking like a concertina and the woman got a nasty fright.
OK, this happened 2 weeks ago = I bought a very nice SUPER CLEAN used minivan and had had it for three days. My friend noticed a loose bolt under the driver's seat, grabbed a can of spray paint I'd just bought (new; ie: FULL) and used it to hammer the bolt home. Bolt still needs repair. Interior, including ALL windows were redecorated. I can't make this s**t up. spraypaint...1b030b.jpg
