Tattooing Freckles On Your Face Is The New Beauty Craze, And They Look Surprisingly Beautiful
Ever looked in the mirror and thought, "Hey, I really want to cover my face with tattoo freckles?" No? Well, me neither, but as you can see from the pictures below, a lot of other people clearly have.
Freckle tattoos, otherwise known as "freckling", seem to be quite a big thing these days, and even though the idea of cosmetic tattooing isn't exactly new (eyebrow tattoos anybody?), people seem to like these tiny ink freckles because of their semi-permanent nature. Although they look quite obvious at first, they gradually fade to look more natural over the course of a few months, and they apparently disappear completely after about two years. What do you think? This must be the first tattoo post on Bored Panda where negative comments are not downvoted. Normally, people stand up and say "It is their individualism", "respect their personal choice" etc. To be honest, these "10+ Typographic Tattoos" will also mostly fade into nothing readable within a few years, but criticising those would get yourself bashed.
Woah, yeah, I'm surprised at the negativity too. The only problem I see is the execution of the tattoos: too many on the nose and too symmetrical. The girls and tattoo artists probably didn't know what they were doing, since it's not common. If you google some more pics, you can find some very well done freckles, with more spacing and a more natural feel. Maybe they were going for a more synthetic look. Aside from that, it's just another way to experiment with your look. I've seen some awful tattoos, and I'd rather see someone get these fake freckles (if properly planned out and done well), but that's just personal taste. I think freckles are cute. People are probably just freaking cause it's an unfamiliar idea, and it replicates a genetic feature. People go crazy over body image stuff. Why can't a person just have fun experimenting with looks without it turning into a body image/insecurity topic.

Tattooing freckles on yourself is like tattooing a "scar" onto yourself or, taken extremely far, tattooing yourself a different color entirely. These folks deserve the mockery they're receiving.

I do not understand this trend. I can understand that having a tattoo is interesting and beautiful to look at, and yes, some of these do look pretty. But the biggest thing is: They are fake. Why does that matter? Well, freckles are natural, therefore the people who tattoo this on their face completely miss the point. Freckles are beautiful, "because" of the natural way it developed. Show more love for the facial skin which you already have. Another strange thing about these tattoos are that it's a "trend". Trends are temporary, a tattoo is permanent. Removal is possible, but it doesn't turn out nice all the time. If you want to try a tattoo out, try henna or jagua (for darker skins), since these are also temporary, just like a trend. If you want a permanent tattoo, choose wisely and choose from something you feel you really want to have on your skin, a thing that tells a part of your own story. The moment you choose something that is a trend, can be a thing you will regret later on.
I'm not so sure this is a trend. Like the "Glitter Beards" and other stories, I sometimes think that people are trying to start a trend on this site rather than show one. This could be nothing more than an advertisement for tattoo freckles offered by a tattoo artist.
But Glitter Beards are temporary. This is permanent.
That doesn't matter if the correct naming isn't "trend" or not, in my opinion. The fact remains that it's related to a trend and more importantly: this is a temporary thing.

It's funny how when me and my friends were growing up we would try and hide our freckles because it wasn't a trend, the beauty industry said it was ugly. Smooth, even toned complexions were the thing. I remember using lemon masks on my face to try and bleach the freckles out I hated them that much. This is why following beauty trends do's and don'ts are pointless. The one thing you hate about yourself in 10 years will probably be all the rage so dont stress. But honestly i was feeling like a potato beauty standards ten years ago as someone that had freckles and now im supposed to be of envy? Fuck off

But that's okay but having a few freckles isn't? I think it's cute, especially if it fades and looks more realistically. the placement appears too intentional which is not how freckles work in real life. just ask the one on the bottom of my foot. cheaper to use makeup or dip a toothbrush in soy sauce and flick the bristles at your face before you leave the house. tasty too.

They look like black heads. Sorry. Also most people with freckles have them on other body parts as well and they develop a darker colour in the sun. My son has them on his eyelids and upper lip, arms and neck also. Just putting them on the nose and cheeks is a bit cartooney in my opinion.

I find it surprising that this is a trend. Especially with the huge contouring makeup craze of completely covering your face in makeup. I've seen fake freckle "tattoos" that go on with airbrush or the wet stickem style. I hope that they tried these options before diving in. Over time as they settle and fade I think most of them you wont even notice. I like freckles. It's their hot bodies they can do what they want. :)
Clearly some artists are better at it than others. But overall I think everyone looks very cute with their new freckles. I had them as a kid and I wish I still had them. Regardless, when tattooing them - less is more.

Why should we freckle faced beauties be the only one to enjoy the camouflage of freckles? They hid a lot of imperfections, acne scares, ugly moles etc. The more the better.

I was viciously bullied as a little kid and teenager. One of the things they'd bully me for was the fact I'm mixed race and have freckles. I wish I could've had the opportunity to suddenly decide to get them tattooed as an adult, instead of having the shit kicked out of me for having them as a child.

Here were my thoughts. At first I was critical at the idea of synthetic ink going into your body, let alone your face... well, that concerned me. But as I scrolled through the examples shown, I began to see it as cute and even pretty. It feels more of an art form to have them because they're synthetic natural features of a humans natural form. Somewhat. They still seemed pretty unnatural what with size of the freckles. Not all freckles are the same sizes.

I think that would be a great idea, but the shade of the freckles and the Artist can do better or worse. I will do it this summer and my Artist can tattoo so lightly that you nearly see it.

This pisses me off! As a person covered in freckles these come naturally to me and mine. It sets us apart from everyone else. I don't know other people but I have rosacea and I would love to have a smooth and clean skin. When I see young people with perfect skin ruining it I wonder why they just don't use a eyeliner pencil. Put some dots there, go around, get some compliments and when the trend is over, they will still have a perfect skin.
