I'm a pro travel photographer, based in the Netherlands. During my travels, I've spent quite some detour km's in my car to make extra stops at lovely churches and chapels. I just love how they fit in the different cultural landscapes. Please let me know if you have visited or recognize any of these beauties!

One Of My Favs In The Austrian Alps. This Is Maria Alm On A Crisp Winter Morning
As pretty as these photos are, I would say the forest, not any building, is the most beautiful church. I walk my ranch every day, and to quote "Colors of the Wind,'" love every rock, every tree, every creature. I was totally appalled to hear that in restoring the Notre Dame church, they were searching for ancient trees to cut down and destroy, for rebuilding it. It would be better to remove any dangerous situations left from the fire, replace the inside area with good soil, and plant some native trees and flowers. Make every living creature..including humans, welcome. Do not replace the roof and let the giver of all life on Earth, our Sun, shine as it was meant to. Let it grow, let it thrive, and make it a statement that THIS is the best way to connect with the universe! Here is the view from the front of our ranch. Now THIS is truly magnificent! south-mtn-...4771c6.jpg

Plechelmus Basilic In Oldenzaal (Netherlands) During A Lunar Eclipse
Pretty picture, but...that is a normal albeit beautiful full moon, not an eclipse
Literally one search: A total lunar eclipse occurred on 21 January 2019 UTC (Coordinated Universal Time). For observers in the Americas, the eclipse took place between the evening of Sunday, 20 January and the early morning hours of Monday, 21 January. ... As this supermoon was also a wolf moon (the first full moon in a calendar year), it was referred to as a "super blood wolf moon"; blood refers to the typical red color of the Moon during a total lunar eclipse.

I once rode my bike along the entire rhine and in the middle rhine valley I felt like I was trapped in a model railway. Every few kilometers an old castle, half-timbered houses and small, old churches. It was like time travelling. Church or not, it is beautiful..
I can relate! a beautiful part of the world indeed
