That's... exactly a photographer's job description? "Effectively use light and focus". And composition.
Load More Replies...The sad joyfulness of the parents in this picture was beautifully captured, it's almost as if you can see their hopes and dreams for their daughter's future in this photo. Love it. <3
It's a beautiful picture radiating joy but the parents' sad smiles make it even more raw and emotional.
This makes me miss my dad so much. It's been 7 years and I don;t cry about it as often but I'm crying now remembering his emotion on my wedding day,
I lost my dad 16 years ago, on my birthday. I still talk to him. To miss your dad means that your father meant a lot to you. There is a lot of solace and gratefulness to be had from grief, because, unfortunately, quite a few people did not have a dad, or mother for that matter, who was ever a positive part of their lives.

Load More Replies...okay seeing this one made me cry too! Im sooo happy these two go to have this moment!
You have no idea how she's feeling just from her face. Odds are she's trying to control her own tears. GIVE UP the notion that you know how someone is feeling by looking at them. Women keep getting judged for things like "resting b***h face" because people keep thinking they know what they're thinking or feeling. STOP.
Load More Replies...To me it looks like he just told a dad-joke, and the bride is all "really?"
Exactly what I was thinking. I thought the father was doing an exaggeration of someone crying and the bride was like "come on, even here?"
Load More Replies...The bride looks mad. I think it would be a tender moment between a daughter and Dad. It was between my Dad and myself.
His expression epitomizes what it means to be overcome by emotion.'
This one should be higher. He's just trying to be the goodest boy be can be
why are they pouring water on them? not being rude, i just don't understand
It looks to be a Hindu wedding tradition called Mangala Snanam, which involves covering the pride and groom in turmeric (you can see the spice powder all over their faces and arms) and giving them a holy bath. Just like in other traditions, like Western baptisms and Buddhist ablution baths, the water is meant to purify :)
Load More Replies...In older times, Indian wedding were about a week long and the Haldi ceremony was done on one of the days. The idea behind this ritual is that the turmeric is supposed to help make your skin glow, so the bride n groom are radiant on their wedding day. This was of course, before we had salons selling us expensive wedding grooming packages! Plus, turmeric is believed to have spiritually purifying properties, so we have the haldi ceremony.
The water washes away the bad luck so they start their lives together with good luck. Like Asian new year. I love that their hands are clinging together and they have the same expression.
Actually, I see in my brain, the water on them being separate but when it is on the ground you can no longer separate the whole because it is now one.
Hi, I am Alpar, the photographer of this wedding and of this photo, of course. No worries, he is a great father and he loves the groom, they are in a good relationship ! He was very emotional that day, especially on the ceremony because he was the major of the town too and he had to officiate the ceremony ! You can see the wedding here: https://alparlukacsi.ro/fotograf-de-nunta-mures/
Load More Replies...I actually love this one. I don't think the dad is thinking something outrageously negative. Perhaps he's acknowledging it's time to let go?
Surely we made the right decision, he'll make her happy and keep her safe.
I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but that is a standard wedding photographer's shot. I bet every Pro in the field has dozens of similar.
I was going to say the same thing. Pretty, but unstaged is not a word that applies to this picture.
Load More Replies...I am not sure about this, looks like the groom did not turn up and they are still waiting for him...........
You know the groom waits for the bride inside the church, right?
Load More Replies...Students we have here an example of how many things can be wrong in one picture.
The bubble solution won't kill you or anything, might give a mild stomach ache if you drank the entire bottle, but it's pretty much dish soap, water, and maybe a little glycerin, so it wouldn't taste good.
Load More Replies...She must have patted herself on her own back with sun screen on her hands before attempting to get some color from the Sun.
They say, rain on your wedding day means you'll have a long happy marriage. It rained on my parents wedding, and they just celebrated 36 year this last April.
Rained on mine also... Seperated in 2004, divorced in 2005 🤷
Load More Replies...WELL WHAT IS A LITTLE RAIN ON A WEDDING DAY SOMETHING TO REMEMBER ALWAYS ;=]] THIS WAY NO ONE KNOWS YOU ARE REALLY CRYING ;=]
That actually happened at my cousin's wedding! Thank God the groom was cool.
Load More Replies...Maybe he's seen one of them grow up and is proud to be part of their wedding.
Highly likely. I got married at 22 and the priest who married us I had known since I was 3. I went to school and church and was involved in the youth group that he was a priest at. He was so thrilled I selected him versus the younger priest that many of the younger crowd like.
Load More Replies...I'd like to know the background of this scene rather than our conjecture.
I can relate to this photo. My father had passed by the time my little sister got married. Father Calais had been a part of our lives since I was 7 when he gave me First Communion. My sister was 9 years my junior. When it came time for her to decide who would walk her down the aisle, she chose Father Calais. He walked her down the aisle, handed her to her soon to be husband, went behind the altar, changed into his vestments, and proceeded with the ceremony. There was not a dry eye in the house!
OH WOW ;=[] REAL GOOD FATHER YOU WON'T FORGET THIS ONE FOR SUNDAY MASS ;=]]
Marriage is so moving. This man takes his calling very seriously to heart. Bless you, sir. Bless you.
Beautiful focus on the bride's profile and the girl almost looking like it's her profile, heads both bowed.
Thank you for featuring my photo here! One of my all time favorites! 🥰
At my sister's wedding I was sad at that age because I thought I had lost her. Little did I know I was getting 2 amazing nephews down the road.
:-) This girl was really happy with the white dress just like her mom.
Load More Replies...It was intentional. I’m always looking for shadows in hard light. I was waiting for the two of them looking both at their shoes, because I heard them talking about it.
Load More Replies...What a ridiculous thing to say, were you AT that wedding?
Load More Replies...Unless you're a woman, then you learn to hold it. :-)

When I got married, I was walking down the isle to my 6'3" future husband, who was also a Marine and Law Enforcement Officer. He was standing at full attention while waiting for me. When I finally reached him, his bottom lip was trembling like a little child. That is love.
Wished I'd gotten a notice for this post... I have a couple nice Wedding pics.
