Truck driver that delivered my flooring gave me this gem: The push for green lawns in the US is by Big Pharma. The cliff notes version is that to get green grass, you need pesticides, pesticides cause cancer, cancer is good business for drug companies. It was like a 20 minute long rant to get to that conclusion and it was an adventure.StillBald reply

14th february 2023, the parliament of Finland approved a new law which allows people to change their legal gender with no need for therapist diagnosis or anything. 🏳️🌈🇫🇮Hey Pandas, Restore My Faith In Humanity
From the top of my head, I can't recall any good deeds- but I can tell you this, fellow panda. Despite all our wars, all of our oppression, all of our acts of violence, we humans are an amazing species. We found math and are now decoding the universe through science and numbers, we've created a multitude of works of beautiful music and art, we've used our minds we have been blessed with to develop medicines and machines that greatly improve our way of life... Though we do many wrong things, we are the only species that is able to see, through the law in our hearts, that we are doing wrong, and we are able to correct it if we work together in good spirit. Though we all make mistakes, and there are certainly bad people among us, we can vanquish any foe when we band together in the power of community and love: this is something that humans alone can do. We are able to appreciate the beauty of our world, we are able to comprehend the natural order and design of many things: from the greatest mountain to the tiniest cell, we are able to be in awe at the complexity of our world. We alone seek for a higher purpose, we alone look for a greater meaning: we alone can seek to comprehend the questions that no other creature has thought of: "How did it all begin?" "Did it all come from nothing?" "What is the meaning of it all?". And more importantly, we've searched for answers: religion, science, and many other things have given us an insight into the spiritual world of our hearts and the physical world of the universe; what other species could do that? Despite all of our flaws, humanity is beautiful, and if we work together in the spirit of love, then we shall be beautiful forevermore.Hey Pandas, Restore My Faith In Humanity
In the1990s I was flying out of Minneapolis, and the line was long. People started talking about missing their flights. A woman behind me said that she needed to get on this flight because the hospital was about to take her mother off life support and she wanted to say good bye. I knew she wasn't going to make it. So I went up to the front of the line and asked people to let her go ahead of them so she could make it. All I said was that she had an emergency situation. Heard people grumble and said "I would never expect that response in Minnesota." Got back in line. A few minutes later, people were saying "you can go ahead of me" and she got up there. I ended up missing the flight, and asked the staff at the check in counter if she made the flight. Yes, she did.Show All 6 Upvotes
