On my Instagram profile a puddle reflects a painting by Van Gogh, the girl with a pearl earring replaces Uma Thurman in Kill Bill, and so forth.
My name is Mehmet and I was born in Ankara, Turkey. I work in the field of advertising and fashion, dealing with post-production and graphics.
However, it's what I do in my free time that attracted more than 60,000 followers on Instagram. I use the technique of digital collage photoshopping some of the most famous paintings and masterpieces of art. In my photo manipulations, I combine ancient elements with the protagonists of films and objects or characters of contemporary pop culture.
The real challenge for me is to mix the various visual elements in a single composition that would look credible in the eyes of the viewer.

I am the least religious person you may find but I think this mix is really sad and hurtful for people who are believers. But as said, the first thing that came to mind when I saw this was...how sad, such a waste. Caravaggio reduced to a wateland by modern times.

Sorry, I will probably be downvoted massively, but I feel that the disrepect for amazing works of art for the sake of a quick 'like' unpleasant. Amazing art through the ages disrespected..

I disagree. There is nothing wrong with adapting classical art to make someone smile or to show off what you can do. This person is obviously very talented, and if this is how they want to use their skills, then so be it. They aren't mocking the art; they aren't lowering its value in any way. They are simply using it for comedy purposes. There is no disrespect involved.
