So are we humans the only s****y animals that cannot do this with our eyes? :(
“Baa-ram-ewe! Baa-ram-ewe! To your breed, your fleece, your clan be true! Sheep be true! Baa-ram-ewe.”
Reminds me of the story my great-uncle told of his first trip up the Amazon to minister to the Indians his first year in Peru....he thought it was very nice of the villagers to put out lights to guide them in at dusk. His paddler looked at him and said "Padre, those aren't lights....those are crocodiles." It was the reflection of the torches.
Is anyone else highly reminded of the "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark" tale about the guy who takes refuge in a church during the rain, only to find terrifying white shapes with long oblong faces lurking inside. He'll never forget the terrifying sound that came out of their mouths: "BAAAAAAAAA!"
Holy.s- - - I thought 5ey we’re sheep, but no, they are goats! Love it

Giving "like lambs to the slaughter" a whole new meaning....

I'm sure it's not as threatening when they're screaming they're lungs off at you
It reminds me this Jean Michel Jarre 's album https://images.recordsale.de/600/600/jeanmicheljarre-equinoxe(2).jpg
Posted this as a reply but also doing so here for better viz. "Eye shine, in this case. Animals have a reflective layer in the back of their eyes for better night sight. Humans don't have this layer so no shine."
They're not "doing" anything with their eyes, it's just the camera flash reflecting off the back of their pupils. We do it too, it's called red eye.
Ah, thank's for the explanation. You have just ruined the party, now go home

You think you can count all of us? In the dark? Oh you sweet, tender little lamb....
This is scary because crows are smart. Give them time and they will figure it out.

Geese are the scariest birds ever! And anyone who thinks different ought to take a closer look at their teeth!
This one is really sad. The bread can rip their skin off eventually and leave some very rough wounds. If you are to toss the bread slices to birds, please, PLEASE rip them apart.
*important business cough. "Now, humans, in this document my secretary has summarised all the latest reasons I consider you to be c**p.
Two crabs were sitting in a cafe. One of them lighted a cigar. The other one screamed: what the heck are you doing? If you smoke, you'd end up with human! P.S. One of the crappiest jokes ever.
I have a window next to my living room door, just happened to look over one night and saw my cat staring in at me like this! Shat myself! No idea how long he'd been there just staring at me!

My grandma’s eyes used to reflect like that in the dark (due to cataract lens replacement). It was scary as hell to see this little curly haired old lady down a dark hallway with her eyes glowing.
There's an inherited health condition - something to do with connective tissue? - that has been diagnosed that way. People who have it show reflective retinas in flash photos.

i once saw red little eyes in my dark play room with a sliding door and a doggy door in the door to go outside in the room found out it was a raccoon and little babys
Teleporting horses. Truly terrifying when you think about the possibilities.
How did all those frogs get on the roof? How did that Turtle get in the wall? Things that make you go hmmmmm......?
Some of these just make me so so very sad about the way we mistreat animals then laugh about it. I mean yeah, a lot of them are funny or even cute, but like the poor turtle in the wall or the horses trapped in tiny places.
