If a huge silverback gorilla will run in terror, the eagle should have quietly backed away
Load More Replies...I _hope_ that most of us would have better sense than to attack the goose in the first place.
Load More Replies...I would like to apologize to the entire country of Canada for the behavior of The Orange One. You have been the very best neighbors, and I hope someday we can rebuild that.
For the remainder of this presidential reign of terror I suggest that the US national bird be a chicken. After all, TACO. And the majestic eagle would be highly insulted that he represents such refuse.
My SIL grew up on a ranch. Because of where their land was located, people would often dump their unwanted animals on their ranch. Usually, they would gladly take in the animals, and all the kids in the family enjoyed caring for them. Until the day two geese were dumped. For several months they tried to feed and live with these extremely aggressive geese. The geese terrorized the humans and all the other animals on the ranch. It got to the point where all the humans and dogs were afraid to go outside. Finally, my SIL's mother had enough and "accidently" ran over the geese with her pickup truck!
I feel ya. I've always had horses. Once I thought I wanted to have geese--you know, majestic birds, eat bugs and weeds, good watchdogs, yada yada....I was offered 2 geese and a gander for free. What a deal!. Tied their feet and wrapped their wings and put them in the back of my car to bring them home. Was a miserable, stinking, s****y, noisy 45 minute ride. Let the geese out, they ran/flew to the back fence and over. Horses took off and ran through the fence. Cost me a big vet fee, and the horses were so traumatized while they were on the property we could hardly ride. We never could keep the geese in their pen, and there was goose s**t everywhere. Our ad read: Free geese. WILL DELIVER!!!
Load More Replies...If this photo is oatentic, it represents a truly foalless, haythy relationship, where the two partners are treated as equine. This is not some kind of a one night stud, they are clearly able to have a mature coltversation, maybe even, hippothetically, about horsetorical fillygures such as Joseph Stallion or Golda Mare.
That's an amazing picture. They look so comfortable and trusting.
There's something delightfully absurd about the fact that a picture of a cat sitting in a cardboard box with the caption "if I fits I sits" can generate more emotional resonance than most professional therapy sessions. Animal memes have become the internet's comfort food, and like actual comfort food, they're simultaneously ridiculous and deeply necessary for our collective mental health.
Research has suggested that viewing online cat media is related to positive emotions, and that it may even work as a form of digital therapy or stress relief for some users. Essentially, we've discovered that looking at pictures of confused dogs and judgmental cats is a form of wellness if you squint really hard.
Regarding lone house rabbits once again you are wrong. Please look on the Rabbit Welfare and RSPCA website. Tired of your ignorance in so many posts.

Load More Replies...The psychology behind our animal meme obsession is surprisingly straightforward. Humans are attracted to larger eyes, which animals have, and we're drawn to anthropomorphizing animals. Those big, pleading puppy eyes trigger the same nurturing response in our brains as human babies, except dogs won't eventually become teenagers who think you're embarrassing. We project human emotions and situations onto animals, creating a perfect storm of cuteness and relatability. That hamster stuffing its cheeks isn't just eating, it's clearly representing all of us at Thanksgiving dinner, and we know it.
Before I read the title I looked to see what the shark was made of. At first I thought it was pieces of wood until I zoomed in the picture. Than notice the hammer heads. Then read the title. Thought this was so cool.
It's done by someone named by Matt Sanders and is located in Long Beach, CA, at the Aquarium of the Pacific.
While also 4$$h0l35 like chihuahua's, at least they have more than 2 working braincells and aren't complete genetic dumpster fires.
To be fair, unless you're kind of an animal nerd, most people probably don't really know that there is more than one species of hyena (I imagine most people think that hyenas only look like the ones from the Lion King), and most people probably don't even know that aardwolves exist. To call someone "stupid" just because they don't know about a fairly esoteric, obscure member of the Hyaenidae family is pretty petty and sh!tty.
Load More Replies...If you google aardwolf you'll find it's an actual existing creature, just not a hyena
Load More Replies...But memes in general achieve relatability through a kind of cultural alchemy that's part shared experience, part emotional validation. The power of memes comes from our practical experiences: from a capacity to trigger shared memories, a common sentiment, possibly even a very specific interest or a peculiar kind of humor.
I have two longhair poofy-tailed cats. Their tails are, indeed, INCREDIBLY soft XD The downside is that they quite literally are living dusters and EVERYTHING gets caught in the tail fur! XD
Load More Replies...CATS don't know (or maybe don't believe in) standard cat anatomy. I have never seen a creature that can be in so many different shapes and positions in such a short time span.
Summoning Feathered Dinosaur! (I haven't seen them post in a bit. 😔)
When you see a meme that perfectly captures that weirdly specific feeling of anxiety about text message response times, you're not just amused, you're experiencing the profound relief of knowing you're not alone in your oddly particular neuroses. Memes provide a shorthand language that allows us to convey complex ideas, emotions, and reactions in a concise and relatable way.
This looks like the Shy Guy character from Super Mario Brothers 2, without his robes.
Now that’s adorable , like I’ve grown up in the country side loads of owls , rarely seen them either but never seen this ,it’s brilliant 😂
Uh oh! Show that pic to the 16% of US men apparently thinking they could win against a bear
I am glad they added the additional info because I always assumed this bear was dead when I have seen the photo before.
It's variety is satin rex (satin mice are shiny, rex mice have wavy fur.)
The neurological reward system plays a surprisingly large role in meme culture. When we encounter something humorous, our brains release dopamine, a neurotransmitter associated with pleasure and reward, making us more likely to remember the content and motivating us to share it with others. This explains why you compulsively send memes to your friends at 1 AM. You're literally chasing a dopamine hit by spreading joy, which sounds much more noble than "I can't stop scrolling and need someone else to validate my sleep deprivation."
Looks like mud to me. Please do not ask me how I came to that conclusion. It was a long time ago and I was just a tiny little proto-Auntriarch

That makes sense, and it's cute too. Are they color coded for boys and girls?
He looks like a furry Dobby! "Harry Potter must not take the bus to Hogwarts this year!"
Animal memes specifically hit differently because they combine this relatability with an inherent innocence. A dog making poor life choices by attempting to fit through a cat door is funny without any of the cynicism or darkness that often accompanies human-focused humor.
Since when do your "print wood" I though that was called cutting but hey , who am I
There are wood filaments, as well as filament with some metal inclusions too :)
Load More Replies...TIL you can actually 3D print in 'wood' (wood infused polymer filament). I love this!
I'd rather not. Have feathers. I've got enough to wrestle with stray hairs.
I'd trade this frizzy mess on my head for feathers any day XD hair2-68ed...4b5294.jpg
But would we have some boring grey pigeon feathers or the gorgeous colourful peacock feathers? Would the colour of your feathers be the same as your hair colour? Would the colour depend on the colour of your skin or eyes? Would we have feathers all over, or in the places we now have hair? Would we have pubic feathers? I have so many questions!
I'm female so I'm guessing boring brown anyway. And please for the love of little pink polka dots, do not mention pubic feathers ever again.
Load More Replies...What if we had tails? Could you leave them out, or would you have to tuck them in? 🤔
Load More Replies...Research suggests that memes can be a coping strategy for anxiety, with studies finding that seeking out and sharing memes that were high in emotional valence and humor had positive impacts on well-being. When the world feels overwhelming, watching a confused seal slap its own face or a raccoon stealing pizza provides relief without requiring us to think too hard about why everything feels terrible.
Indeed, but it’s not going to be women who think men should strive to look like that. It’s going to be other men.
Just like it's not men who usually think women should look like a toothpick

The genius of successful memes lies in their ability to articulate feelings we didn't know needed articulating. That video of a cat knocking things off a table isn't just funny, it's a perfect metaphor for impulsive destructiveness that we all occasionally feel but can't express in polite society. The blend of humor, simplicity, and relatability allows memes to resonate with a wide audience by encapsulating complex emotions and societal norms in a single, digestible format. It's emotional communication for people who find actual emotional communication exhausting.

If they get enough sleep, they won't have dark circles under their eyes.
Even better... if say, the artest understood their materials and could have used rust resistant/proof paint and or laquors/epoxy and chose to let it happen.
Most likely the case. The rust spots are just too perfectly placed for it be random chance.

Load More Replies...I was hoping for some backstory on this, and found this information: Embroidered cat textile fragment; cotton plain weave ground; camelid (llama or alpaca?) weft patterning; feline figure; cream and black. From Peru (900-1430 AD) May be Chimu or Chancay culture? Also, someone replicated it in cross-stitch. How cool! https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Fpic-i-recreated-the-1000-year-old-cat-cross-stitch-v0-208vv7keacmc1.jpg%3Fwidth%3D640%26crop%3Dsmart%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3D02f7e449b2bbca359080efef4f6357741f61a3c6

I mean, if effective that's a great natural anti-flea treatment, as long as the cat doesn't mind the dye-job and it doesn't leave their fur spicy
That second picture reminds me of why I'm embarrassed to date as a middle aged male. xD

My daughter raised some hissing cockroaches. They're big, but somehow less creepy than your standard German cockroach, which I can't stand. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madagascar_hissing_cockroach
The other night at about 3 a.m. I was checking out something I heard outside and when I turned on the outside light and looked out, there was a snail and slug convention going on, right on the patio and steps.
I’ve seen a few snail parties. I was house sitting once on a quiet street and walked the dog to find there were about 50 - 100 snails loitering together. I think it was probably dusk but it was quiet and cool and damp and they all decided to go out together I guess.

Fortunately most Giraffe/human matings don't work out - could be the height difference
The first one. Giraffes have crazy long necks, not crazy long abdomens.
But in horse centaurs the neck is not that of the horse, so the giraffe should end level with it's back and no lengthening should occur

When I was a bartender/cook at a local arcade (a few years ago) I found a chicken tender that was shaped like a seahorse, wish I could link a pic. I mean, I probably can, but I am technologically impaired lol
I would not dare. I always feed the dogs at “old time” and slowly switch to “new time” in 5-10 minutes increments or decrements per day. Personally I would prefer daylight savings be scrapped purely because my dogs are used to their schedule and it messes up with them twice a year.
... Now I want that first red nose to be connected via his tongue and for someone to hold the anteater and play him like a paddleball toy.
