I viewed the video, and the woman was belligerent, confrontational, and weird. She threw her dog at this young man, and instead of running back to her, the puppy hid behind him, technically a total stranger. The puppy trusted him more. I am just glad that the doggo got a good home.

Animals have this sixth sense about who is a good person and who isn’t. Sometimes the better human actors can initially fool them, but not for long (sadly, sometimes it’s already too late to escape by then). This little baby knew she didn’t want to go back to the person she had been depending on—-because she couldn’t depend on the woman to take proper and loving care of her. Puppy chose the much better, kinder, and more loving person to help her. And he came through with flying colors. I see much happiness and love in their future together. I wish them all the best.

During these challenging times of pandemic, more and more people are looking for a pet to join their family. Bored Panda reached out to Kelly DiCicco, the manager of adoptions promotions at the ASPCA Adoption Center, who said that many people are responding with adjusted adoption and foster programs amid the COVID-19 crisis.
“There’s no doubt that the public's response to support their local shelters by fostering vulnerable animals has been enormous and unprecedented.”
Kelly said that in the first few weeks of stay-at-home orders, the ASPCA saw a nearly 70 percent increase in animals going into foster homes through their NYC and Los Angeles foster programs, compared to the same period in 2019. “There’s no doubt that the response from people across the country willing to open their homes to animals in need during this challenging time has been enormous and unprecedented,” Kelly concluded.

I love the old dogs. I foster the old, sick, or 'so ugly no one will adopt them' and give them a forever home. Sometimes I only have them a few weeks before they die, other times it's years, but it's so rewarding because they just seem so grateful for the simplest things. Love and affection is all they crave. Oh, and food and water, of course! ;) I adore them all! <3

My husband and I have agreed that our next puppers will most likely tne senior or sick dogs as well. We have four now, and three of them are senior.. As we get older, we know a pup will have more energy than we do. So, what a great way to give a pupper some last great days, and let them pass knowing they were loved and very spoiled. You’re a special person to be doing this.

The global pandemic has been making shelters, rescues, foster carers, and animal welfare organizations, including the ASPCA, look for innovative solutions for running adoption procedures.
Kelly said that the ASPCA has been implementing “remote or socially distanced adoptions and online meet-and-greets using video conferencing to help these animals find adoptive homes.”
But the adoptions managers warned that even if the policies are adapted in response to Covid-19, the animal welfare organizations are still following their effective protocols “to ensure pets match their adopters' lifestyles.” This must take into account what the new owners' post-pandemic schedules will be.

Good on you for 3 months sober. Now you have Nikko you can never go back to the dark place, because you need to take care of him. And in return he will take care of you. Beagles especially are extremely attatched to their humans and their (good) habits. Any dog would have been lucky to go home with you, but this seems to be the perfect match

Kelly also explained that every shelter has a unique population of animals. And if you’re about to choose an animal to adopt, “prospective adopters should ask questions and rely on shelter staff for guidance.”
“We always encourage adopters to keep an open mind and heart when meeting animals from a shelter or rescue as you may feel a connection with a pet you'd never considered before, like a senior animal or even those of a different breed, size, or species.”
In these unprecedented and critical times, “it's especially beneficial for people to experience the many benefits—including companionship, joy, love, comfort, and stress relief—that come from having an animal in your family,” Kelly concluded.

Smart guy; he did his homework. See the plug-in behind him? We have one of them in our bedroom where the cats and dog sleep—-they’re meant to calm animals. I assume that one is for cats, and was bought in preparation for kitty’s homecoming. They work pretty well too, as evidenced by how calm and happy the cat is. Good job, new Cat Daddy!

We have a geriatric unit here at home. A cat that is around 22 yrs. A dog an elderly woman dropped off for us to watch while she went in for surgery. Turns out she had to go to assisted living after surgery. Couldn't keep her dog so told us to put down her dog. That was 2 yrs ago. The dog is still very alive and over 20 years old. And we have an obnoxious goose that's well over 20 yrs old. His top bill broke off over 10 years ago when he was fence-fighting our Border Terrier. That's one of his favorite things - to annoy the dogs.

Absolutely disgusting this barbaric practice. How can a veterinary do such an operation legally? Here in Europe it's against the law to maim cats and dogs. Declawing cats has serious health issues. The cats can't stretch any longer the spine and they will be handicap for life! If you care more for your furniture than the health of your cat, we'll just don't take one. If you're so stupid and selfish forget having any animal. Take good care of your furniture it will bring you much joy and love!

My pit-lab mix once ate a big glob of raw shea butter from the kitchen counter. I was worried, but it, um, "came out" a day or two later and she was none worse for it. She's a bit of a meathead, but she's MY meathead and I couldn't love her more.

Race dogs have horrible lives. Their owners only think of getting money from racing them and could not care less of loving them. They consider the dogs as tools to make money. So sad that they live life in kennels, run until they no longer bring in the money and then they owners get rid of the dogs. Such a cruel "sport". .
