2020 has been throwing us one curveball after another, but there still are things to be thankful for. Netflix gave us The Queen's Gambit, the economy hasn't collapsed, a few Covid vaccines are on the horizon. Not to mention, your bedroom doesn't have to be your workspace or classroom for a few days, and you get to stuff yourself with turkey and mashed potatoes until your heart's content.
To keep your spirits high and give you something to do while you lay in bed getting through the food coma, Bored Panda has compiled a list of hilariously relatable memes that perfectly sum up this year's Thanksgiving. Hope you enjoy them as much as your grandma's pie!

If you are someone who tries to watch what they eat, holidays can be difficult. Especially Thanksgiving. Being surrounded by so much delicious food that often emerges in our lives only once a year sure is hard to say no to. Not to mention the stress that often accompanies a busy holiday gathering..
If you fear you might overeat, use a smaller plate. Turns out, perception can be a big factor in losing the brakes. A study by Cornell University claimed that halving plate size leads to a 30% reduction in the amount of food consumed on average.
The Food and Brand Lab of Cornell University suggest you eat healthy foods on larger plates to encourage consumption, while eating less healthy foods on smaller plates to trick yourself into feeling satisfied with less.
However, it's worth noting that another study suggests that these numbers might not be true and further research on the relationship between plate size and consumption is needed.
Also, consider drinking a full glass of water before a meal. It helps to provide a sense of fullness, which lessens the likelihood of overeating. Just don't substitute it with soda, alcohol or other calorie-dense drinks.
Another mistake we often do is we skip breakfast, anticipating a bigger dinner, thinking we will more than make up for the calories as the day goes by. According to Rush University Medical Center, disadvantages of skipping breakfast include: higher chance of being overweight, higher chance of consuming unhealthy snacks, and lesser chance of meeting consumption recommendations for fruits and vegetables.
But even if all of this fails and you still lose it at the table, try to get rid of any guilt when leaving it. Nothing bad will happen if you've allowed yourself a second serving of turkey or a bigger slice of pumpkin pie. Dietician and upwave review board member Shoshana Pritzker, RD, CDN, reminded people that, "One meal isn't going to make you fat, or get diabetes or high blood pressure or any of those other illnesses or ailments that come from overeating all the time." It takes many months to put on the pounds and many months to drop them, so one afternoon of indulgence isn't going to cause you to buy bigger clothes tomorrow.
My dad's family: *two hours frothing rage* Me: *five seconds about Covid* My dad's family: *drops me from Zoom* Me: *gets out Ben & Jerry's, enjoys rest of day*
My grandma was the one who started the s**t talking. And she was ruthless.
But, what can we talk about this days, if not about Trump, covid and covidiots?
Na-na, na-na, na-na, na-na, na, na Na-na, na-na, na-na, na-na, na, na Na-na, na-na, na-na, na-na, na, na
I don't understand what this constant 'white folks' generalisation thing is about. See it daily online now. Anyone able to enlighten me?
57% of white people voted for Trump. 8% of black people voted for Trump. So a black family is less likely to have a political divide in their family. It isn't racist, it is math. For me, a white person, this is true. My parents are extreme Trump supporters, which has made the last 4 years very hard for me. It is hard to hear people that I love praise Trump and Trumpism. I am very thankful to stay home today rather than listen to "stop the steal" nonsense.
Load More Replies...I'm white and by no means offended 🤷♀️ I don't see it as a racist comment, but the irony of something that's been a dreaded event for some people, due to political differences, now appears to be a MUST despite a pandemic going on. So why bring in the "white" part?? Because most black people were smart enough to NOT vote Trump, so the chances of political tension during TG dinner is less likely. I, for one, got into an argument with my family, because they're talking s**t they know nothing about, like what it's like to be black in America. They're WHITE and we live in Denmark, hence they have no freaking clue. I'm obviously white too, but was married to a black man, have 2 mixed kids and spent 10 years in the US, so at least I have SOME kind of understanding. I've been pulled aside 100% of the times when crossing the US border with my ex, but never when traveling alone, yet border patrol claimed it was "routine checks" 🤨
Maybe they're secretly a little bit masochistic, maybe it simply became a tradition (including the complaining), maybe they have a trouble saying no (because of guilt-tripping or fear of being excluded or...) or maybe there's at least one person from the family they usually still look forward seeing on thanksgiving despite everything else. ----------- And I don't think that only goes for white people on thanksgiving, it goes for many people from all parts of the society when it comes to traditions
...says every person of color and every fragile white person.

To those who celebrate Thanksgiving today, I hope you have a wonderful and safe holiday. To those who celebrated a month ago, Happy Belated Thanksgiving. And to everyone else, I hope your Thursday was made a bit brighter by laughing at memes by us weirdos who do celebrate Thanksgiving.
You are too sweet. It really is hard to avoid family you love, but it’s easier to sleep at night without a guilty conscience.

I don't know the political views of any of my family, friends, neighbours or colleagues, and it is usually considered rude and impolite to ask. I don't even know what political party my partner voted for in the last elections and I really couldn't care less.
It used to be this way until Obama was elected. For some reason Republians heads exploded when that happened and they spent 4 years vowing revenge to never let it happen again. Then in 2012 it happened again and more heads exploded, conspiracy theroys got even weirder. In 2016 they doubled down on fear mongering and somehow elected Trump who is a blatant rasict. Since Trump won, all the racist felt it was ok to be more racist and public about it. Democrates didn't back down and stood up to it for 4 long years. Now in 2020 some Republians saw the error of electing an idiot who has pissed away his daddy's fortune and either didn't vote or voted for Joe. Additionally, Mitch McConnel has spent the past decade convincing all Republicans to vote on party lines so nothing ever gets done. This is why after 7 months we still don't have a second stimulus check, the amount of homeless and poverty stricken has increased by nearly 20% and foreclosure are expected to explode when restrictions end...

My family of course did not go to the thanksgiving celebration. We instead had a traditional dinner with no visitors. I’m all done venting now.
Yet another liberal who is intolerant in the name of tolerance. Way to go. The hypocrisy is breathtaking.

Thanksgiving is a celebration that was started by the pilgrims when America was first discovered or something like that.
