We understand just how deeply heartbreaking it is that pandas aren’t suitable to be house pets, but these adorable panda-like puppies from China offer those of us who adore pandas a glimmer of hope. These adorable critters were born in the Jiangsu region in Northeastern China. Neither of their parents look much like pandas – mom was a local rural dog and dad was a Pekinese dog. Three pups from the litter look like pandas and the other three have different markings.

We’ve already showed you a collection of beautiful animal friendships from around the world, but there’s one little corner where there’s a whole lot of unexpected animal friendships all in one place. The Rocky Ridge Refuge in Arkansas is home to a huge bunch of animals, all of which seem to get along extraordinarily well. The animal refuge was set up by owner Janice Wolf 20 years ago to help both wildlife and domestic animals in need of medical care or new homes.
A few months ago we wrote about Beau, his puppy Theo, and the adorable naps they liked to take together. Although the two pals are growing bigger seemingly by the day, it looks like they still enjoy catching some shut-eye together. It all began last Christmas, when two of Shyba’s older children, Jack and Zoe, met Santa Claus in New York and asked him for a puppy.
When Ichimi the kitten was rejected by her mother, Ponzu the golden retriever and his owner Jessiepon took her in and have begun nursing her back to full health. Ichimi has taken very well to her guardian Ponzu – the two play together all the time, and Ponzu even cleans and sleeps together with Ichimi. Judging by the pictures on Jessiepon’s Instagram account, Ichimi is growing stronger by the day.
Sometimes, people and animals have more in common than you might think. Blaze, the beautiful young Husky in this video, is obstinately resisting his owner’s suggestion that he go to sleep in his kennel. In this case, the owner is just doing it to tease the pup, but all of us have probably resisted our bedtimes just at fiercely at one point or another. And because he’s a Husky, which is a very verbose breed, it sounds just like he’s saying “No!”
Tuna is not an ordinary 3 year-old Chiweeni dog – he’s a real Internet sensation. He has his own website and Instagram account, has been widely written about online, and is followed by hundreds of thousands of people. What’s Tuna’s secret charm? It’s definitely his unusual appearance – he has an irregular face with a crumpled chin and teeth that stick out. Tuna’s priceless facial expressions, captured by owner Courtney Dasher, are the key to his success.
Whether or not you’ve seen Disney’s beloved The Fox And The Hound movie, you’ll love this pair of unlikely and adorable friends. Tinni the dog and Sniffer the wild fox have become the best of friends.Tinni lives with his owner photographer Torgeir Berge in the forests of Norway. One day, while they were on a walk together in the woods, they met a wild fox that they named Sniffer. Despite the thousands of years of breeding and the social circumstances that stood between them, they became the best of friends.
Stuff On Scout’s Head is a blog run by Jen Gillen, a woman of patience, and her dog Scout, who could blow any circus poodle off the stage with his master balancing skills. On Stuff On Scout’s Head, Gillen posts pictures of, you guessed it, Scout balancing things on his head. Not only can he hold a roll of toilet paper on his head (which is how it all started), but he can hold a laptop, a bucket of paint or even a vase as well. Scout is so well-trained that not even a slice of pizza or a pyramid of burgers can distract him.
French photographer Sophie Gamand decided to create a natural and very cute photo series of dogs getting wet during their grooming procedures. What makes the fittingly-titled Wet Dog photo series so funny is how realistically these little fellows react to water and shampoo. Some fur balls remain stoic and pretend that everything’s OK, but others don’t even try to hide their emotions, and you can see the misery, surprise and even anger in their eyes. Don’t worry, though – not a single doggy was harmed during this photoshoot.
Blogger Jessica Shyba has created what is perhaps one of the cutest and most internet-worthy examples of cuteness that we’ve ever seen. These pictures of her new puppy Theo and her baby boy Beau napping together are about as cute as it gets. It all began last Christmas, when two of Shyba’s older children, Jack and Zoe, met Santa Claus in New York and asked him for a puppy.
Thanks to the help of a vigilant pet care clinic and a loving family, this mistreated pup, dubbed “Shrek” because of his monstrous appearance when he was found, has been rescued and has found a new home. When Shrek was found by Dr. Brenda Gough’s husband on their equestrian facility in Ontario, he could barely move. His thick, over-grown fur was caked with mud, his legs were covered in sores and a burr had lodged itself in his eye.
This is one of the most adorable animal friendships that we’ve seen in a long time. Bubbles the African elephant and Bella the black Labrador, both residents at the Myrtle Beach Safari in South Carolina, have become the best of friends, and can often be seen playing in the water together. Pictures have been published of them playing fetch in the water – Bubbles throws the ball with her trunk while Bella jumps off of Bella’s head or back and swims to retrieve the ball.
