Bless her sweet little impish heart. Makes me sad she's gonna lose her bestie all too soon
As long as the Postie is a willing participant. Or do they mean the post car with postie?
I utterly love this idea. I can see it playing out in my head. The utter glee of the child, the dog exhilarated with the wind in it's fur, and the postie playing along, running and shouting for mercy.
Well written! The mental image of the pug still being able to harass the postie via a young lady and baby stroller is nothing short of hilarious! I hope the pug got to nibble postie’s trousers! 🤣
My grandma also had Alzheimer’s. She had forgotten who I was for a few years already. We were all at my mom’s on Christmas and as my grandma and Poppi were leaving. She looks at me, puts her hand on my arm and exclaims, “Erin? It’s so good to see you! I’ve missed you!” Instant tears of joy that she remembered me that one last time.
Oh... My eyes... I'm in a school bus damnit. That's so sad and heartwarming!!!
Load More Replies...My grandma stopped remembering me the last couple years she was around and was on a 2-3 minute convertion cycle. She'd introduce herself, ask if you were married, if you had kids, where you lived....then she'd always say oh. You live in *MyTown*? My son lives there! Do you know my son? And I'd say yes, that I knew him (my dad). After 2-3 minutes it would start over. I stopped sitting next to her. I just couldn't. My husband and I were undergoing fertility treatments that weren't working at the time and grandma had only had one pregnancy and that miscarried. They spent years trying and even tried early treatments, but ultimately adopted my dad and aunt. She's the person I should have been able to talk to all that about and instead she thought she was a young woman and I was a nice stranger and every three minutes I'd be reminded of the infertility and not being able to talk to her about it. Dementia sucks :(
I'm SO sorry!I had a miscarriage at 13 wks, just 1 day after hearing the heartbeat 4 first time (1998)It absolutely crushed me & my husband. We found a miscarriage support group,& honestly I think it was our saving grace. We went on and got pregnant w/my daughter. After her,we started trying again,& I couldn't get pregnant. We eventually got pregnant using IVF.I had my second daughter after 3 years.Try to keep positive!I know it sounds impossible. Many years ago I had heard about using positive affirmations,& thought it was stupid,(I had severe depression from age 15 to 50),I found some positive quotes in a book I was reading & I wrote them on index cards & put them next to my bed.I read them every evening before bed, & every morning when I got up.About 6 months later the depression got MUCH better.I hadn't changed any of my meds or anything. Im sure you already know this, but trying to get pregnant REALLY messes with ur head.Using a positive affirmation abt being able 2 b pregnant cld help
Load More Replies...My dad passed with Alzheimer's and when mom visited she always gave him a cuddle and a kiss. He would grin and ask her not to do that as his wife wouldn't like it. The day before he died he told her that he knew he didn't say it often but that he loved her. He recognized her long enough to say good bye.
Both sets of grandmas were mean b!tches. But my two grandpas, God bless their souls, were like this grandma. They were two of my favorite persons in the world. Tatay Pablo and Papay, I miss you so much. We will see each other again one day.
This guy is one of those celebrities that I have never seen in anything, never watched Star Trek I know not a lot about him but he just seems like an awesome dude.
That’s such a huge leap forward. Too bad it’s taken so long.
As much as we love the web for its endless supply of knowledge and inspiration, it can get pretty grim over here. Being bombarded with bleak headlines every time we go online can make it seem like there’s no good left in this world. We’re especially running short of positive vibes after a rough week at work, a heated argument with a spouse, or an unfortunate encounter with a rude stranger in our everyday lives.
When the digital world feels full of negativity, social media projects like 'Wholesome Meets The Internet' are here to lift our spirits and boost our belief in kindness, one post at a time. Ever since its first post in July 2019, it has been a purely refreshing platform to visit. It allows us to take some optimistic energy and put it into our own hands by devouring heartwarming stories and sweet pictures shared on the page.
Wow, parents are wonderful. I'm physically disabled in a wheelchair and 34 but my parents still do so much for me that even if I say I'm fine, they do it anyway because they're my parents. When I was at uni, I had a massive flare and spent a year pretty much in bed. My mum is a teacher and helped me stay on track to not miss out and fall back.
On the one hand, good on mum, but why weren't there accessible alternatives for the student?
Because many countries can't afford it. This was in Turkey.

That is absolut love!! A parent giving such devotion to her child. I wish I could have known that kind of love.
Proof that good mother’s would do ANYTHING for their children. She is the epitome of a good mother.
I hope so. It's a beautiful demonstration of a mother's love 💕. My son was on crutches for a couple of weeks when he was in his last year of college and I drove him the hour to school, carried his books, and waited in the hall for his class to end and then helped him to the next. He only had two classes a day at the time.

I have to do this in my neighborhood so I’m not embarrassed to drive down my own street (and because I love nature). Neighbors all ask me how much the city pays me 🤣🤣🤣
I love this. I have a neighbor who takes 2 bags with him when he walks his dog. One is for the dog poo and one for the trash he collects on our street. He is the greatest neighbor we have ever had!
Omg that's my friend!!!!! He's been cleaning up the park every day for years, he still does a daily cleanup to this day! Though he moved locations for school. He's a climate justice and environmental activist and an amazing human and friend all around. So happy to see him getting some recognition.
To gain more insight on how positive and negative news impact the readers, we reached out to Deborah S. Bowen, Ph.D., an Assistant Professor of PR Instruction at the University of South Florida. "Most of us are familiar with the phrase, 'if it bleeds, it leads,'" she told Bored Panda. "We have an instinctual drive to seek out the scary, the awful, the unthinkable. True-crime podcasts, streaming shows about real and imagined cases … the list is weird and endless."
"Perhaps we do it because it reminds us that we’re okay; perhaps we have a dark urge that needs to be satisfied. In any case, the internet abounds with negativity, from 'trolls' to snark to the charmingly outdated 'flame wars,' we have no lack of content," Bowen added.

You can be my daughter!! I have 2 already, but I will always take in an older one that needs unconditional love! I grew up with a mother & father that didn't really want me, so now I try to give back so maybe someone else doesn't have to experience what I did. :-)

My cat Simon is like that, he loves everyone. I'm thinking of taking him to nursing homes so he can love on the residents if they'll let me that is.
According to her, being on the outside of these stories or fights lights up what’s called our "negativity bias": "A psychological phenomenon recognizing that the human brain responds more vigorously to negative news than to positive news."
It looks like turning a blind eye to the darker side of life is difficult as we humans are hardwired to seek out the gloom. The negativity bias shows our tendency to give more significance to negative thoughts and experiences than positive or neutral ones. We are even inclined to focus on the negative aspects when they are insignificant.
Rick Hanson, Ph.D., psychologist and author of Hardwiring Happiness, stated that humans evolved to be fearful, and it helped keep us alive. "This vulnerability to feeling threatened has effects at many levels, ranging from individuals, couples, and families, to schoolyards, organizations and nations," he explained. To gain back control over how we perceive the world, Hanson stressed the importance of becoming aware of how our brains get so vigilant and wary.

I find this one extra sweet because my great grandfather was a carpenter. Dad still has the small boat he made himself! (Indeed there's a family story about the time Dad took his beautiful bride for a romantic boat ride in it, which ended with him tipping the boat over and everyone ending up in the lake. I found out about that when I asked my mother why one of her favourite books looked as if it had gotten very wet once upon a time).
In the UK, there's the University of the Third Age (first age is childhood, second is adulthood third is retirement or older people). Its a social network, and each region does things like talks, craft classes, sightseeing, book clubs etc-each regional group is autonomous so the local branch decides what their members are interested in doing. It is a great way to meet with others in your area and develop connections and friendships. I told my elderly aunt about it and she really enjoys it, so if you've got older friends or relatives who are feeling a bit isolated, it might be worth checking it out.
We have these in Australia too. They are a great idea.
Load More Replies...They have a club like this in my area. The older ladies have the WI, the older men have The Man Shed.

"The alarm bell of your brain — the amygdala (you’ve got two of these little almond-shaped regions, one on either side of your head) — uses many of its neurons to look for bad news: it’s primed to go negative in most people," the psychologist wrote. "Once it sounds the alarm, negative events and experiences get quickly stored in memory — in contrast to positive events and experiences, which are not prioritized in the same way."
But while this was a great way to survive and avoid threats in the old days, in the modern world, we don’t actually need to feel afraid or anxious all the time. If we want to lead fulfilling lives, we need to better grasp this tendency and understand that things are usually not as tragic.

That’s why we should make some room for hope in our lives. Since optimism and happiness are contagious, surround yourself with cheerful news that can help you unwind from unfortunate events happening in your life.
"There is no shortage of wholesome content online: adorable children, snuggly pets, recorded marriage proposals," Bowen told us. "But even these sweet contributions can become riddled with negativity." The professor pointed out that even when we instruct others, 'Never read the comments!', we promptly go to the comment section ourselves.
"Positive, feel-good content certainly goes viral (looking at you, Tariq the Corn Kid!), and these viralities certainly take the edge off the bad news surrounding them, but these aren’t usually good deeds or acts of kindness motivated by someone’s goodness," she added. "It would be interesting to track the ways in which positive content inspires more positive content. We might be on to a great online revolution!"
It never even occurred to me that the color of band-aids was supposed to be skin-tone (for white people at least), until I saw this. I jus thought they were beige, because beige? So silly.
It honestly never occurred to me either. I'm half Mexican and half white. Those pinky beige things look so pink on my very golden skin. I thought it was just cheaper to make them that color. I guess I thought that because cute ones with unicorns or dinosaurs are more expensive. The color is so far from my skin it never occurred to me to associate it with flesh coloring. Wow.
Load More Replies...I think so but honestly they just really don't, just have fun a get one with patterns or something instead
Load More Replies...Kitchen band aids...the good good ones .are blue so you can see them in food if they fall off, I figured that was the point of the shade they were (?) But this also is really awesome
It's about time band-aids are the right color for skin tone. But I still prefer the Ninja Turtles when I can find them. (I'm 61)
Yes! I think I demanded one even when I had no cut at around age 6 and wore it proudly. I need to see if I can still find the ninja turtle ones.
Load More Replies...This! I never knew I needed this until I put it on. It was a bit awkward growing up having a bandaid that was boring but also highly visible due to the coloring. Now I don't have to worry about it.
I prefer those too. But I can't blame a 45 year old man if he prefers skin colored ones.
Load More Replies...This is great, unless you are in the food preparation where they use blue ones
Years ago (the 70s, I think) Johnson & Johnson came out with a variety of skin-toned Band-Aids but they just didn't sell. But more recently they tried again and they have become very popular. I think it's in part because we have become more aware of the need for inclusion but mostly because images like this have gone viral. (btw- the photo above is from 2019) Screen-Sho...37-png.jpg
I'm so happy for him, but I didn't know they were supposed to match your skin either. I'm so white I'm clear, lol!!! But I used to be a hairdresser and when you cut yourself at work, no bandaid will stay on your hands with amount of water you work with. We always used crazy glue. It's the same as the "liquid bandaid" that you can buy, it's cheaper, and it works better than a bandaid!
I want that to be my birthday. Pizza and Minecraft. Has a ring to it.
Load More Replies...God, in which part of the world are not broken limbs treated immediately???
It's not the number of people that matter. You just need to be with your favourite people
That sounds wonderful! I've never heard of a broken arm not getting immediate surgery to repair it. Is this common where you're from?!!
Hi Cheyenne! I actually had a similar experience when I was in 4th grade (mannnnnnnny years ago lol). I was on a field trip and tripped, hitting my arm on a rock, breaking it about 2 inches above the wrist. I was taken to an urgent care center where they gave me a padded temporary cast and sling, and I didn't see the orthopedic doctor until the following Monday for a "real" cast. In certain cases, surgery isn't necessary, so I'm guessing that this kiddo was a similar situation. Hope that helps 💕
Load More Replies...Sorry you live in a 3rd world country where a doctor is not available for several days. But great move by the other mother to still have a great time for the boys
A doctor was available, at the emergency room. If you go in with a broken bone, unless the skin is broken or there is something that urgently needs surgery, you are put into a sling or temporary cast until you can see an orthopedic surgeon, usually within a few days. ER docs are there to treat life-threatening issues; everything else gets stabilized until you can see a specialist in that field. ER docs are great but I want a doctor who has years and years worth of experience setting broken bones. If not set correctly, you may need it rebroken or surgery to correct it. Our health care system sucks, but emergency rooms refusing to waste limited time and resources to completely treat a non-urgent problem that they aren't experts in isn't the reason our health care is garbage.

Wait did they eventually go? As a kid I'd be happy for my mom but secretly sad for myself
I'm sure they did; dad would know that his happiness for weeks would be based on giving the kids that trip
Load More Replies...Last year, my brother and I drove up to Star Trek Tours in Ticonderoga. (They have the original sets from the show.) William Shatner was making a guest appearance for his 90th birthday. The turbo lift doors opened to reveal the bridge with Captain Kirk in the captain's chair...and I lost it. It was overwhelming. If you're a Trekkie and you can travel to upstate NY, I highly recommend the experience.
Striving to include more happiness into our lives is important, but so is staying rounded and well-informed citizens. Because we may turn a blind eye to the darker side of the world — but that won't make it any brighter. In a bid to gather a broader perspective about the world, it is essential to try to balance out the content we consume.
I feel as if a fine under $1 shouldn't stop someone from checking out a book. Heck, my library has a $10 limit.
My library system is a fine-less system to encourage and allow reading. I like that.
Load More Replies...My local library recently did away with late fees all together, citing that it adversely effected lower income patrons. A small victory, but a good one.
Many libraries have ended fines on books. They would rather lend, get the book back, and not have to keep track of the penalties. My late wife did accumulate over $1000 in fines at her college in the 70s. Funny thing was that Library Science was her minor.
This is why late fines are going away here. Anything that dissuades from reading needs to go.
Your Faris is so pretty 😍😍😍.... And of course squish too... looking like twins😜
"Like most of ours, my social media is a highly curated echo chamber," Bowen said. She deliberately surrounds her online presence with accounts that reflect her values. "But like everyone else, I’ll sneak over to 'the other side' to see what ideological shifts are happening 'over there."
"This is a great approach to understand how others perceive the world around them, but it really only works if you choose to visit legitimate news sites that will offer up potentially controversial content in a journalistic, unbiased way." The professor encourages people in the States to explore US news from external perspectives and other countries. "Generally, these external sources offer content that isn’t tailored to one political 'base' or the other, offering instead a holistic approach to the bigger stories of the day."
Ooh that is a really dangerous game he's playing. Imagine if a lot of people who didn't know they're married but had met her sometime, start saying that he's better off without her and give reasons why they disliked her....
Great way to weed out the "friends" though.

The only downside is that these dogs have a short lifespan. That’s usually the case with bigger dog breeds.
Load More Replies...That's precious. I once got my gsd a puppy of his own (or so my dog thought so).
I can relate. I had identical twin boys, and all I hoped for was to bring them home, and not just plants (most twins end up in the hospital for a bit). I got to bring them home, and now they are a lovely transgender young lady, and a lovely non-binary person.
Exactly. This is how parenting should be. You're a parent to a human being. No labels.
Still. your social network may affect your mental health and well-being, especially if you have a tendency to doomscroll. As Associate Professor Bowen stated, a new addiction is rising — addiction to social media and its inherent stressors. "Studies demonstrate that even though and even when people experience stress when using these platforms, their use doesn’t decrease; in fact, it ratchets up."
In response to these feelings, hunt down all the feel-good stories and adorably cute pictures you can find. "It’s so important to take time off and away from social media, even if that means decreasing little by little over time. Make sure to practice online self-care, and a great start would be to actively seek out some of that wonderful smile-inspiring content that lets us vibe with happiness," Bowen concluded.
Acts of kindness like this live on for a really long time. I still remember when a teacher bought me lunch when I was hungry once, and I'm 53 now. This is how we make a better world.
We make the world better by electing governments that will work to ensure all kids never need lunch to be bought for them again.

My wife and I live in Australia where Christmas is extremely hot. When our daughter was small we would spray canned snow prints around gumboots and scratch skid marks in to the ground where Santa's sleigh had landed. We also left out empty sunblock bottles marked Reindeer approved.
My boot prints never came off the roof of the house. It was sold like that
Load More Replies...When I was a kid my Dad would set up little treasure hunts! You had to follow a series of clues until you found the treasure, which at least once was a lunchbox buried in the sandpit with some sweets inside. Fast forward to this year and here I am hiding decorated stones around the garden for my little nephew to find (the clues version can wait until he's old enough to read!)
Aww...I used to do that for my son. You brought back good memories.
Load More Replies...Oh memories. For Easter, when my daughter was young, I would tape arrows all over the house (floor, ceiling, walls, doors, windows) that she had to follow and find her chocolates. They were hidden everywhere, top to bottom. Why? Because bunnies hop and jump so the chocolates had to be on top of things or on the floor. She loves her little Easter hunt (my mom used to do this for me).
This summer I bought a box of rock and bleached animal skulls at a rummage for 5.00 and then buried in my yard where I was going to transplant some Hostas. Invited my 5 yr old grandson over to help me in the garden. It was an awesome day seeing the excitement on his face…..of course he wants to dig up my whole yard now! The rocks went to my grand-daughter (9) who never saw a rock she didn’t want to keep! All for $5.00 totally worth it.
Adventure! Who could resist!?! Your brilliant Mom stirred your soul!
I remember finding big white rabbit "foot prints" leading from the door to my easter basket ...so it's real
What's dumb about it? I have the stepstools my kids made in woodshop. My GRANDSON got married 3 days ago.

When someone did this to my mother once she put my older brother on the phone, and his 8 year old self launched into monologue about transformers.
She is the badass QUEEN!!! Can I adopt her as my mom??? (I'm 52 & need a good mom)
I have a very young sounding voice and I'd always get calls asking if they could speak with my parents. I was like "sure, if you want to call their house then I guess you can." Usually met with laughter, an apology and it somehow always ended the call.
Same. I even had this one lady calling about the lights said I can I speak to the person who pays the light bill I said speaking. She said no hunny I mean like ur parents get mommy or daddy. Like wtf lady I said pay the bills and I'm grown just for her to be a telemarketer

When I was a super little kid, about 4 or so, we got a call from a telemarketer (mid 90's) and they asked for the man of the house. My response "Daddy's behind bars right now, can I take a message?" He then asked for the lady of the house, "She's with daddy. Can I take a message?" Is there an adult I can't speak to? "OFFICER! SOMEONE ON THE PHONE WANTS TO TALK TO AN ADULT!" The officer handled the call... Don't know what he said kuz I ran off to stay with my lil sis.

My son was an amputee and constantly had to deal with parents. The kids were great. They were curious, kind, and compassionate. The moms, not so much.
I've worked with disabled people since my kids were young and raised them to be open and caring towards those with special needs. And I always introduce my clients in public as "my friend." Normalization is the key!
Awesome, grew up with a disabled brother..people would always ask..mostly kids..and our of the parents that would allow..my brother always played with them..this warmed my heart
Can't love this enough! 45 and suddenly disabled. Mom pushing me in a w/c. Using leg brace & came to walk! I love questions! Beats starting, and even worse ignoring.
Damn onions....My grandfather passed away in June and he was my best friend. He had a picture of my daughters in his wallet when I went through it for my mom and saw the photo and just balled.
When my grandpa died in 2009, the only picture they found in his wallet was a small on of my sister when she was 2 and I was 5. He had multiple grandchildren all much older than us but that was the only picture.
Secret Santas are the best. Especially when they do not need any credit for their deeds.
Probably not the smartest move depending on why the kid was in the hospital. Diabetes, intestinal disorder?
The grandpa had the candy, but the kiddo may have still had to wait to eat it. Grandpa knew why lil buddy was in the hospital, so he probably gave him the candy on the condition he wait until it was ok to eat it.

Totally correct! We used to visit my parents about 4 hours away (driving). There's a town right smack in the middle with a fantastic truck stop. We would always stop there and we'd let the kids pick out two candies to eat along the way. We still do it and the kids are in their twenties.
Nerds, beef jerky, chocolate, baby bell cheeses. Baby bells are essential because you have fun wax to play with when it's your turn to ride.
There is a whole subset of snack foods that I only ever buy at truckstops. WhoTF buys Bugles anywhere else?
Seems a lot of Ladies wait for us fellas to ask.... I go over with "Hello, may i give you my number ?" So they feel safe & can choose to call me or not...

Lol my husband fell in love with me when I corrected him and his roommate at the time for both arguing about something they were both incorrect about. I guess my telling them they were wrong, telling them the facts, then just disengaging from their conversation was huge for him... he describes it as "my showing I'm truly intelligent and not just a pretty face". Lol
Sometimes you just have to let 'em have both barrels to make them realize an opportunity!💞💞💞
Lol..I married the milkman!!-- I work for a coffee company and married our delivery driver!!-- I hear ya .best decision I have ever made in my life!!-

People who come into my shop sometimes make friends with each other and it really is great
Me too. When I was a teacher I refused to give them homework because as far as I was concerned they had school 6-7 hours a day and they only got a few hours to themselves after school and they have other things to do that should never involve school. I remember that I had several hours of homework to do after school, leaving no time for anything else and I felt it was wrong and refused to give homework to my students. I suggested a book they could read if they had any time over but it was only a suggestion, not mandatory. They worked hard in class and did all their work in class. I also stayed behind in school so if anyone had been off sick they could catch up with my help and support. My students still had one of the highest grades in the district without homework. The others who had the same grades in the district had 4+ hours of homework each night. To me if you are a good and effective teacher then you can teach everything in class and homework isn't needed. They got enough

Of course, I didn't read it and the night before had a small panic attack (I was one of those nerds that was always prepared). The next day, I went to class early to let my teacher (who was one of the toughest in the school), that I hadn't read the book. She look at me and said "why did you thin I would be upset that you didn't read it? I didn't expect you to. I'm not giving you the test." She let me sit in the back and read whatever I wanted. I never forgot her for that. I still have never read Wuthering Heights.
It wasn't a great book, in my opinion. You didn't miss much. I'm glad your teacher has compassion.
Load More Replies...#1 must have been my first psych professor. My 18 month old daughter was in the hospital with pneumonia. He wouldn't let me take a make-up exam. In spite of him being such a douchebag I got a B in his class. I'll bet it killed him.
I don't know how old this post is, but where I went to university, we had a student protection group. Basically you could go to them to discuss unfair treatment, and appeal for extensions, and extenuating circumstances. They would help mediate problems with professors. Many of those students also helped other students find free legal counsel, and housing assistance. It's weirdly not that well advertised, but I am pretty sure a lot of larger universities offer these services. I had a friend use the student advocates to receive an, "incomplete" instead of a failing grade, after she was deployed in the middle of a semester, so she was able to complete her classes. Note: in my experience, academic advisor are *not* the ones to ask for this kind of help. That's a different service.
Cripes, when my mom passed, it took me roughly 3 weeks to get myself back together between making the arrangements, getting her financial stuff together and over to my place and trying to process just the entire realm of loss and grief and everything else, while trying to do all the normal everyday life stuff, work, kids, etc. SUCH fun times!!! 🙄😢
Sounds like me and my husband! Best friends became romance and now we're almost a year into marriage! Known him for 5 years, still learn something new each day. We have conversations that last hours like the poster and they span all sorts of topics.
I have been married for almost 23 years and sometimes the hubs will start to tell a story that he has already told me, but I never say anything because I love the way he tells stories and I love just spending time chatting with him! 😊

Marry your best friend! During rough patches (which can happen in every marriage) it's easier to work things out because no one wants to lose their best friend.
Similar story, but slightly different. My fiance (boyfriend at the time) and I both never fell asleep. So we tried in between talking and jokes and ended up just getting up at 4:30 and driving to Krispy Kreme to be there at opening. Such a fun memory
About to hit our 26th anniversary . . . He still holds up his end of the conversation!!!
Yes Yes Yes... Met a wonderful guy and we became friends. I even set him up on a date or two. We stayed friends for over a year or so and we both ended up breaking up with our others die to they cheated with each other. We became much closer friends and yes, we eventually became a couple. After 28 years together we finally got married. 2 years later he moved out to help his elderly parents. Mamy days I am sad amd lonely. BUT he is amd will always be my best friend. I will wait and he will come home one day for good. We talk everyday and see each other as often as we can, his parents can't travel, But whenever I am free to visit I do. After 30 plus years together, I am still very proud to call him my very best friend I have ever had in my life. Oh and he is 16 years older than I.
The internet is full of eye-opening intellectual intelligentsia. I love it!
Another fun fact about this! The spiders learn to recognize their frog so they don’t attack it. It’s a chemical thing with the frog that makes them realize which it’s their frog friend. Plus the froggo gets protection in exchange for helping keep its friends babies safe.
I keep dubia roaches to feed my lizard, and mini grain mites had infested their container. A tiny spider moved in, and is keeping the mites under control.
Why does this make me assume that some spiders are frog breeders lmao-

I understand this reference and that makes me happy.❤️

Humans usually have no problem seeing in their frame-rate, but they have trouble seeing in ours. To them, it would look like the frame is constantly sliding, like when an old style film reel is starting up. No wonder they don't like to look at them.

Load More Replies...There are plenty of older gamers playing Stardew valley :) I'm 40 and my husband and I play it together. We've done several playthroughs but we still haven't done one supporting Joja Mart. Video games can be super great ways to bond with parents. I have many awesome memories of playing with my dad. He'd bring home single player games and I'd sneak in to watch and then we'd wind up playing a save together, two chairs pulled up to the desk, alternating who was watching/supporting and who was controlling our character.
awww! as a stardew valley player (who has had it for 2-3 months and has logged 100+ hours) this warms my cold little heart
This needs to be higher! Anyways good to hear stories like this!
I just got Stardew Valley last week as a gift from my husband. I've been struggling with some life stuff, and I'm amazed at how well this game relaxes me. Great game!
ha, you're not the oldest one playing that game! my boyfriend beats you by 11 years!
My receptionist once told me (in front of her husband) that for the first 3 or 4 years they were married (in the 70's) she would rush home after work every night and cook dinner, which always included a dessert. And every night Jim would come in and they would sit down to their home meat and 3 veg and dessert. I don't remember how it came up but...Jim doesn't like sweets, he was just eating dessert because she had made it for him and he thought she loved baking.
I always thought grass liked being walked on, like it was made for that purpose.
It was! And to be eaten and lived in by all kinds of creatures :)

Very sweet, but this is also a good reason to spay and neuter (unless you really want and can care for baby critters, and in that case go for it)
OR you could spay and neuter both cats to avoid having unwanted kittens.
i am a HUGE arachnophobe and one time there was a spider dangling like two inches from my head. I parked and ran out of my car. It decided to block my entrance. Some random guy came over and asked if i was ok. I said yeah theres just a spider and im scared of spiders. He killed the spider and went, have a nice day. Still think about it <3
Chic-fil-a is an American restaurant, pronounced like chick filet. Or chick fill uh, if you're hip.
The linguistic term for this is epizeuxis. It's done in AAVE allll the time (and many other languages, that's just the dialect here).
Reminds me of when I was asked to care for two pet rats while their owner - a little girl - was on holiday. She kept fretting about whether they were okay, and when the parents let me know I started sending lots of pictures "here they are having some nice custard!" "now they're cuddled up in the hammock having a little sleep". Next time they family went on holiday, they came to me as their new regular rat-sitter. ^_^
I love how the kitten is looking at him. Like yep, you are my grandpa!
One of my favorite petsitting jobs in my 10+ years is when I sat for my niece when they went to Disney World for Spring Break. I watched her stuffed bear Bandit. I treated Bandit like any of my other charges, except he went places with me. I would buckle him in my car and even brought him to my 8 to 5. I even sent my niece (to my sister) pictures like I send to my regular clients.

Science says the rounder an animal is, the cuter it is perceived to be. Unless it's purposefully bred/fattened up to ridiculous standards.
Rounder = Cuter? I must be positively adorable.

This reminds me of a story of a lady who ran a Sunday school for the neighboring kids, with the only purpose of giving the parents some naughty quality time.
When I was in grade one, I went to 'school' 2 days a week. It was just like 5 kids doing worksheets for a couple hours at one lady's house. We were all homeschooled so we were all always home, nowadays I'm convinced that she just had us over to give our parents a freakin' break.

Same same. Before he came home, I’d gotten his Gmail, Outlook, Apple ID/iCloud accounts set up and began sending his documents and photos to the cloud. He even has a web browsing history & favorite sites list, because I would switch to his account for all internet places he was/is interested in. I even created Steam/PSN/XBOX/Switch accounts for him. Now that he’s 8, he uses these things and knows his unique address & username across all sites and platforms.
Not supremely NOLA thing. That's a Southern thing. Happens in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas....all the southern states
I once had a van rear end me while I was at a stop light. It was snowy and slippery. The guy was almost crying in apology. I just said no damage done, gave him back his license plate that fell off, bummed a smoke, and went to work. Never seen a grown man in such relief before.
Oh dear I have led a sheltered life, I thought it doesn't look like a can of beer, and it would be blue anyway if it was Bud....

And you can put this problem away and out of your thoughts.

THIS @boredpanda. More of THIS. Enough with "Millenials suck" and "Boomers suck" and "Parenting sucks" and "being old sucks." We get it. Do more nice stuff, for the feels.
I saw most of them before. But it doesn't matter. They make me happy all the time ❤️
Is it me being overly emotional, or was anyone else reading these through blurry-watery eyes? People have so much potential for being good to each other. We all need more if this in our lives.
This is a little memory I like to think of: when my younger stepson was turning 10 or 11, he was very much into Doctor Who (as I was, it was something we bonded over). I bought him a TARDIS backpack and explained that the Doctor dropped it off for him the night before. He was dubious at first but I explained, "He's a friend of mine. He likes my hair a lot." My stepson's eyes got so wide and he went, "Oh! Because you're ginger!!!" That made it real for him. I doubt he remembers but I love that memory.
The irony is that the house really does smell like onions because I just made paella
