Merriam Webster dictionary defines a meme as an idea, behavior, style, or usage that spreads from person to person within a culture. And it’s no secret that they have become the unofficial fuel of the internet. From Bernie’s mittens and Pence’s fly to the year 2020 and the ship stuck in the Suez Canal, everything gets turned into a meme. And while they’re often fun and give us a much-needed cringe fix, sometimes they get a little harsh and cross the line.
But thanks to the Twitter page “Wholesome Memes” that aims at spreading positivity, we now have a feel good-only collection of some of the best memes out there. “We spread internet memes and images that promote health or well-being of body, mind and/or soul,” reads their description and their whopping 1.3M followers live by it.
And in a world savaged by the brutality of cold facts, sad news, and post-2020 blues that turned out to be no better than that cursed year itself, Wholesome Memes are more relevant than ever.

I know this page is for wholesomeness and therefore swearing should be avoided, but the only words I can think are 'That's F*****G AWSOME, GIRL! I'm really happy for you'
The internet can be a beautiful place, but it can also be a miserable, mean, fake place full of unwanted toxicity from people, directed at people, or it may come from the type of content itself. And memes, generally a fun meta way to communicate ideas online, can also sometimes turn sour.

My Dad got hearing aids just before he turned 50. Working as a fire fighter for 25 years had damaged his hearing. He said it was the little things that fascinated him - the sound of the dishwasher, the ripping noise toilet paper makes, birds, hearing the sheep in the next field, the sound of rain. The biggest thing was he became so much more confident and talkative because he knew what we were all saying now (he has been subconsciously lip reading for a long time, and would always be silent at the dinner table because there were too many people to focus on to talk to). I think however he does find living close to an airport more annoying now!

Welcome weeds into your garden. I mow my grass once a year at the end of the season, otherwise it is full of wildflowers, many of which are called "weeds". Dandelions, daisies, cow parsley, borage, it is all food for pollinators, and provides cover for smaller insects (and even mammals) to thrive. Stop mowing lawns!!!

Me and my brother actually did kind of that... My family was a government supported "support family" for refugees, and this Bosnian family (from the wars in the 1990's) had two sons that we played a lot of PC games with. Their family had almost nothing in their apartment, but when my family visited they would always offer us Bosnian delicacies. Probably cost them a lot considering the money they had, but we had a truly great time together with many laughs and conversations about how the Swedish society works and how to get into it socially and professionally.

I'm not sure if this is meant as a joke so ... Politicians all over the EU and probably the world are getting death threats. In some places it's so bad that lokal politicians are giving up and some decide not to go in the politics in the first place even through they want to and planed to. There were attempted and even carried out murders of local politicians and lokal politicians rarely get protection or security. The attacks in Europe come mostly from the right. You can also look up what's happening to the politicians of the opposition in Turkey, Poland, Belarus, Hungary, Russia, Hong Kong ... If you want an example of a recent and big case of politicians being in danger: look up what happend to Aung San Suu Kyi and other politicians in Myanmar

I hate the fact that the name Karen is used negatively. There are 3 Karen's in my life and all 3 are the most beautiful women. One is my aunt. One is a family doctor who has been with as more as a friend than a doctor especially after my dad died and now looking after my mother after her recent cancer diagnosis and the third is a day nurse who comes regularly to the house to give mum her medication and always makes sure we know we can call her if we need to. Despite what the internet says Karens are wonderful.

Totally different than hating them for no reason because you have an actual fear for a valid reason. If it was another breed of dog , you'd probably feel like that about them as well. You saying you want to love them shows that you know they are not all bad, just that you have had experiences that have conditioned you to feel that way and that's a hard thing to overcome for some people. Honestly the emotional damage from the Bullying you have gone through is enough to trigger a fear like this because you identify the dog as the cause. A lot of people just hate pitties because they hear bad things about them, your situation is so much different so don't feel bad! You can care for them without having to love them. More like, my computer is having an issue and I google it, there is one result exactly like I am dealing with, but the only two replies are "nvm I fixed it" and "thread closed". (the issue was that all keyboards were constantly pushing enter - the problem was worked out a year later by guild I joined to be that the inbuilt keyboard was fubar'd and I had to hard disconnect it from the mobo to stop it)

That's how we got our girl. She was walking on a very busy street, my boyfriend saw her and called her. She ran over, jumped in the truck, sat on the passenger side and just started at him. He got in the truck and drove home with her ( we checked for owners and she was never claimed, the vet also confirmed she had been outside a while (her stool was bloody due to malnutrition)).

This is me in BotW. I got all the main quest stuff ages ago, and explored almost all of the castle, but still haven't challenged the final boss because there's still a bunch of side quests. Plus, I'm trying to make a flying vehicle with balloons but I keep falling off.

No, it isn't. You don't choose your gender identity just like you don't choose your genitals - you are born with it, and for some people, they are not born with the body to match their gender identity and have to face a lot of stupid stigma because of it. But just because someone is trans doesn't mean that their gender identity is any less genuine or valid, because all that matters is that you can express yourself and be the gender that you were born knowing you were (in your mind) regardless of what your body looks like <3

We told my son, you will fall over when learning to ride a bike. We don't know how many times, but each time you fall is one less.
