Bored Panda reached out to redditor u/Peanutbuttered, who is the creator of the internet-famous subreddit r/whatcouldgowrong, to find out more about their community. The redditor told us that after their friends introduced them to Reddit many years ago, they loved the concept of different subreddit communities allowing you to customize the content you wanted to see.
“I sat there thinking about ideas for a subreddit—at this time, it had seemed like every category had been thought of already. I thought it would be funny to make a content community where the only things submitted were just gifs of bad ideas with unfavorable outcomes.” u/Peanutbuttered clicked the button to make it go public, and the rest is history.

The community now has 4.0m members and gets submissions every day, but the creator of r/whatcouldgowrong said that it’s not up to them to approve the posts. “Reddit works by community voting, but we along with our content robots remove anything that doesn’t meet the rules,” they explained.
As r/whatcouldgowrong began to evolve, Reddit included it in a collection of popular subreddits where they “revamped the idea behind 'default communities,'” explained the creator. They said that since then, r/whatcouldgowrong “started to show up on the home page more often, which brought in more people.”
“The content is all pretty much the same, but the people participating in the discussion section of each post is no longer WCGW subscribers, but a combination of subscribers and general people from the rest of Reddit,” explained u/Peanutbuttered.

The creator of the community also said that their favorite submission is the one where “a guy is rolling down a hill in a shopping cart, and what happens is about what you’d expect. This is my favorite post because it inspired me to create the page.”
Even though u/Peanutbuttered is aware that their subreddit is for quick entertainment, it still provides a lesson to learn. “My hope is that people who are thinking of attempting a stupid stunt will rethink their decision or maybe recall a post they saw on /r/whatcouldgowrong. Then they’ll think, 'maybe I should not do this,'” the redditor said.
In fact, u/Peanutbuttered concluded that in a perfect world, r/whatcouldgowrong wouldn’t exist “because people would know what is smart to attempt and what isn’t.” But since that’s not the case, at least, they hope the subreddit can help to prevent an injury or save a life.

As painful as it is to see, it might be easier to put the right femur back in the socket and let it heal than to heal the fracture in the left femur. The chipped and fractured parts of the pelvis or coccyx are also concerning, as they must be surgically repositioned or removed.

I'm more concerned with the morbidity associated with the right hip dislocation, especially that it's open and close to the perineum, associated neurovascular injuries, potential for avascular necrosis. The left subtroch fracture would be easier to manage. Poor kid.

OUCHERS! Unfortunately, as an X-ray technologist I've seen way to many of these injuries. And what's worse is the internal injuries that aren't visible on these regular x-rays. Torn muscles, tendons, ruptured uterus, bowel, bladders, kidneys. You name it. It's the equivalent of jumping out of an airplane at 3000 feet with no parachute and landing on your feet.

This. This is partly from air bag, partly from the torso moving forward inside the car faster than the legs. psa, don't put small children nor animals in the front seat if there is an air bag.

As a Paramedic, I have seen injuries quite similar to this. Also knees jammed into jaws and near strangulations from seat belts and laying back in the passenger seat.

I've had a hip replacement. This is HORRIFYING if you've gone through the relatively easy recovery of it (still it's major surgery). This is beyond words....this poor girl.

A horrifying x-ray shows a young woman's "life-changing" hip injuries when the car she was in crash while her feet were on the dashboard. The woman suffered a broken hip on her right leg and a dislocated hip on her left leg when she was involved in a collision. Sergeant Ian Price, of Dyfed–Powys Police in Wales, shared the image to discourage front seat passengers from relaxing and putting their feet up while travelling. and this is just one of the many things that can happen to the human body from being careless and/or ignorant. I knew of a grown man, drinking with friends, sitting on a stool on the 4th-floor balcony - laughed so hard he fell over the railing backwards and landed on his feet. Pretty sure you get THAT picture.

I saw a pic of the actual person and basically her hip bone broke through her buttock flesh exposing the bone. Do not put your feet up on the dash in a car!!

At first, I saw a face in the x-ray. Now that I've seen the truth I'm not sure it's any better. Ouch! Twice Over! How long is the recovery for this? Be sure to put in that in the PSA with this picture mind you.

Long recovery time , at least months. Depending on what is damaged that doesn't show on this pic. Think bladder and colon problems.

Ouch. My husband is still dealing with issues from a busted femur, car accident when he was 17. 45 years later. Hip replacement, sciatica, chronic pain. I'm so very sorry.

What could go wrong when you call in a bomb threat? A girl from my high school found out. She was supposed to be on ISS (In School Suspiension), starting after a break. She decided that she didn't want to. She and her stupid a*s friends came up with a "brilliant" plan and called the school to report a bomb. These hardened criminals forgot about little details - like caller ID and security cameras. If that wasn't bad enough, she had just turned 18, meaning she could be tried as an adult. She definitely got the extended vacation she wanted - 5 years of it in one of our lovely barred, lockdown hotels.

It has been a learning curve for me. Don't put fake blood on a lorry trying to go under a low bridge or you will flood the engine. Don't get out of motor to feed the monkeys or the bears wreck your car. Never park between trolleys or scaffolding or under bird infested trees. Do not use plastic or hide plastic in the oven, to hold hot oil or to throw ashes into. Stay away from dogs faces but get them to chew up the sofa. Tell mama her food is C**p and I've thrown all her dough in the bin! Avoid hair raising experiences.Oh yeah, don't be an on line karen to stores.
