That's how it should be. A value for value exchange. The influencer promotes FIRST, then receives the benefit of providing value for whom they've promoted.

This is an awesome idea! Good incentive for us “regular people” to spread the word as well.

I can believe it, I have a Facebook group and when people join just to post 'ads', I suggest that they first post a link to the group/other on their page and then ...they can post their 'ad' to my group. They also never take it up. They always want something for nothing. And that offer i only made to those with 'ads' that are less spammy and relevant to the group.

If I'm ever in Dublin, I will now hunt down this establishment to support them because of the backlash they received. These influencers are becoming a plague about social media and their followers writing negative reviews because their poor influencer hasn't received a free holiday is sickening and disgusting. Influencers need to realise that just by having lots of 'followers' they don't get to write to places and demand free stuff and to throw a hissy fit when that demand is denied. It's super easy in 2019 to get thousands of followers and sadly this has in turn given certain people the power trip of thinking they can use it to never pay for stuff again. I wish it would just stop!

There is a special place in hell for people that write negative reviews out of spite without even having been to the place.

Like I'm sure she did "wonders" for Disney in Orlando. They have been doing "amazing" since before she was born!

I read about this... the influencer chick wanted accommodations over Valentines Day for a solid 5 days—many hotels are booked months out for Valentines Day. That’s pretty cheeky to ask a business to give up 5 days worth of profit during a busy time of year.

I love this so much. More people need to have this attitude towards these entitled, vain and useless people. Stop following these parasites and they go away. It's that simple.

I guess I just don't get the whole "social influencers" thing. What makes them so special? I just thank the lord everyday that I am not on Instagram so I don't have to see this c**p....but I like these company's firing back at the so called influencers

I’m a chef, so when I did certain events I would ask the vendors that I worked with to set up a booth with merchandise and pamphlets. I would pay for a couple cases and they would have to bring the rest. Why is there no give and take other than supposed exposure?

I mean, most influencers out there these days seem to do nothing but show off their wealthy lifestyles and post it as their actual content, so I dunno what they even " influence " anymore.

I have a friend who has an Instagram account targeted to working moms. She has no dreams of being an influencer nor does she have a lot of followers but she likes to share her life and struggles in this format. When she first started she asked me to be a joint-instagramer with her and I quit after less than a week because it was honestly such a pain in the a*s. Trying to come up with content on a daily basis, editing the photos just so, writing the captions, trying to find situations and places to take the photos, getting the kids to cooperate, trying to increase followers by interacting with other users...I had no idea what I was getting myself into and it was my own personal hell. I do believe it can be hard work to be an "influencer" but it is so strange to me that for those who do work hard to cultivate these picture perfect lives, are spending so much time glued to their phones that they aren't even living them.
