Nobody said being vegan is easy; it takes a certain level of self-control and preparation to live up to your ideals. One accusation that is often leveled at vegans is the way veganism converts eulogize about the benefits of their dietary choice, while most of the time scolding others for their 'unorthodox' meat-eating decisions. While it usually comes from the right place, wanting others to feel as good about themselves as the vegans do, it can be a bit grating for meat or dairy eaters who just aren't interested in the whole vegan diet thing.

Surely there's a more natural way to spread the message of vegan food goodness? One that's unpretentious, self-deprecating and easily digested? Why yes, vegan memes of course! We here at Bored Panda have collected the best memes that vegans can seriously relate to, and maybe even pass on a few to their friends who don't get it yet. Scroll down below to check them out for yourself, and don't forget to vote for your favorites!

I've always wondered, though. How do they get milk out of almonds, coconuts and soy beans? (Here in Hong Kong soy milk in plastic bottles are as common of a drink as coke, maybe more, and I don't even know where they get it from.)

I'm pretty sure they mean like "vegan meals". If someone says "I've never had Chinese food", you don't go like "You've never had RICE!?"

If you do not find something tasty at a good vegan restaurant, you seriously have issues. Besides, pretty much the whole indian cuisine can be prepared in a vegan way, and there are countless delicious options.

I told my mother-in-law the new vegan dish I created and she just rolled her eyes. When I asked what that was about, she responded with a joke about how there was no meat in it, how could it possibly taste good. That's when I dropped the bombshell of the Chocolate Latte Cake I made for Christmas that she scarfed down...totally vegan..and Gluten Free. "Did it taste good?" She got quiet. I told her "We aren't doing vegan for the sake of the animals. We are doing it because our health was so bad, we needed a different way to eat so we wouldn't die. Do you think that's funny?" She apologized. After that..she gave us nothing but support and even started learning how to cook vegan.

When you're on a special diet (and vegan is a special diet), you should check beforehand if the restaurant can accommodate you.

I think this picture illustrates many of the misunderstanding between vegans and the non-vegans. Vegan food is more than a meat-dish bereaved of animal products. Anyone claiming that vegan food cannot be tasty and healthy (regardless of continuing to eat meat or not) either has not experiences well-prepared vegan food or is simply closed-minded.

Easy explanation, chickens, pigs, cows etc are raised for the purpose of being eaten. Cats and dogs aren't (in most parts of the world).

That doesn’t address the spirit of the issue, which is about killing animals. Cats and dogs are bred as food in some places anyway, and it appalls you.

Also, you care more about cows, pigs and chickens more than the field animals that die during plowing and harvesting because they are pretty much invisible to you. Why are the lives of cows and other such animals more important than the lives of field animals?

I get that it doesn't make sense, but I don't like the idea of eating some animals, like dogs, cats, and horses because they're much better companion animals. I kind of feel the same about pigs, but I don't really like pork anyway. I feel like calling veganism "killing no animals" kind of... weird, because a lot of people don't directly kill animals, and stuff like clearing land for soy production is technically a "vegan" thing that can kill animals. Basically, veganism still has a footprint, so it's better to be realistic than on a high-horse about it.

We can very easily live without killing animals, but living without a phone is difficult nowadays. I've never owned an iPhone and never will, you can always make better choices when you know better. Do you kill animals?

Ok. Let me say something. LITERALLY since we existed we have eaten meat, which is to say ANIMALS. Why? Because A. It's an easy source of protein and our ancestors couldn't buy some kinda bean or protein supplement on the internet. B. The circle of motherf*cking life. Lions aren't evil because they eat meat are they? Then why is it bad for us to eat meat? If your argument is "But we have a choice!!! We can eat cruelty free!!!" Newsflash WE CANNOT BE TOTALLY CRUELTY FREE. There's still going to be things like child labour to grow your "cruelty free!!" crops. And even if you somehow avoid that, what about your clothes? What about the things in your house? There will ALWAYS be cruelty and death out there. Smh

For the Jews and Muslims, the meat of carnivores (cats etc.) and omnivores (pigs, rats, vultures , etc.] is forbidden. Only herbivores, such as cows and chickens are permitted. [Many details describe exactly how to define permitted animals.] There are also strict rules about how the animals are to be treated, and how they are to be quickly slaughtered. According to the laws of Judaism, Islam, and Christianity, we cannot make forbidden for ourselves that which God has permitted for us.

Love how Vegan has been cut down to just "Not Killing Animals", there's a lot more to it than that, and most of them don't even understand all there is to it. Let alone that it's a Fad Diet that's not even needed anymore...at least not for the reasons they are talking about: Cruelty to animals. Yes, it's technically healthier, but that doesn't mean that it's tastier, but then again, taste is a personal thing different from person to person, so who am I to say that it's not tastier? I just love meat, an cheese, too much to give up either. Apart from that, I've nothing...Oh wait, I do: They spread misinformation all over the place claiming it to be fact. THAT is what I have against Vegans. Have a good day everyone =D

I'm a vegetarian with known food allergies to nuts and several types of bean. If I had a dollar for every time a vegan purposely added allergens to my food, I wouldn't need to get generic epipens.
