These days, many of us have fallen into misery. It’s easy to feel lost amid the worldwide return to normal, frozen economy, and realization that the pandemic has inevitably become the new normal. No wonder the sales of plants, self-help books, and bikes have reached record highs as we’re all looking for some sort of emotional shelter.
So to all our fellow anxious souls, we have prepared a real wholesome band-aid, a strictly uplifting and positive list compiled by Bored Panda. Scroll down through the much-needed boost of positivity below, and be sure to share the post with a friend who feels like being tucked in under a warm blanket.
And for those who need an extra boost of wholesomeness, check out our previous articles here, here, and here.

So Happy For Them Both
Keeping your spirits high is always easier said than done. Sometimes you just can’t help but feel like the world is against you, especially during the times of worldwide pandemic. Many of us are facing challenges that can be stressful, overwhelming, and cause strong emotions in adults and children. After all, we've lived under numerous public health actions and restrictions for more than a year, and social distancing has made many of us feel isolated and lonely and can increase stress and anxiety.

Now that the world is returning to normal, many people feel like they cannot keep up with it. Unclear vaccination status, fear of catching the virus, record rates of unemployment, businesses going bankrupt and uncertainty about the future have added many layers to the stress. But whether we like it or not, life twists are unforeseeable, and it's just inevitable we have to find ways to cope with whatever it brings us.

His wife is unable to curl her own hair and often burns herself, so he stepped up to the plate and learned how to curl her hair. We had the pleasure of teaching him! We taught him how to do volume curls on short hair, how to protect her skin from being burned and we even taught him to put on her mascara.

So in order to find out what an expert has to say on keeping your spirits up during hard times, Bored Panda reached out to Lynn How, the author of “Positive Young Mind” and life coach who specializes in supporting educators, parents, and children with improving and prevention of mental health issues.
“When life takes an unexpected twist such as our current global pandemic, having the tools in your toolbox to cope and stay positive are a priority,” said Lynn and added that there are tried and tested ideas to try out to boost inner positivity and resilience.
My Foster Dog Had Never Been Indoors Before. This Is Her First Nap, On A Bed, In A Home
Sundae was taken from a dog hoarding situation — one man had 16 dogs (and a deceased dog’s body) in his backyard. The dogs had access only to a junk-filled backyard and a garage for shelter.
We’ve had her for about a week and you would never know that she’s never been an indoor dog before. She’s totally potty trained, incredibly gentle and she’s very polite indoors. She loves to sleep as close as possible to me in bed — I think she’s just making up for 8ish years of zero affection.

“The first recommendation I would make to increase positivity is reflecting upon your self-esteem,” she said. Asking yourself questions like “Are you someone who works too hard because you think it’s expected of you and you are attempting to be perfect at everything all the time? Does this or similar behavior stem for some unconscious issue deep inside?” may be extremely beneficial in getting to know yourself.

“We all have our own little issues in worrying we’re not good enough or that we don’t matter. Working on this is so important, as if you have higher self-esteem, you are more likely to consider yourself worthy of taking time out to work on yourself. A higher self-esteem improves every aspect of your life so it’s worth the investment.”
According to Lynn, developing a sense of gratitude is another way to improve positivity. “Thinking about ten things every morning on the way to work that I am thankful for really helps lift my positivity and also remember that it could always be worse!”

The mind coach also suggests increasing collaboration with others, since many of us have found ourselves not wanting to talk with people anymore, “especially after long periods of not seeing people—it’s too easy to not restart (but you need to).” Making yourself social is a way to confront these anxieties, although at first, you may not feel like it.

“Recently I heard this phenomenon described as a ‘Blursday.’ Every day is Blursday with no plans! Combat this by filling your diary,” Lynn said and continued: “Plan one nice thing a day to look forward to and get it written down so it actually happens.”
And the last thing is never to underestimate the power of exercise. “Those endorphins coupled with a balanced diet really help to combat negativity and provide you with the energy you need to be motivated,” Lynn concluded. For those who are struggling with addictions or self-control, a pandemic is also a great way to look for online support groups and seek the help you have been postponing for too long.

Despite Adversity, Showing She Cares About The Planet
Nadia Sparks, a 13-year-old student from Norwich, got juice thrown at her face, was chased and punched, even shown a knife by schoolmates only for picking up litter on her way to school and was named "Trash Girl."
Undeterred of all the bullying, she has picked up thousands of liters of garbage since she started her project, much of which has been recycled. After her story went viral, she became an ambassador for the WWF and has won international recognition & awards.
Right and now more people are becoming aware if the situation I can't believe this happens but it also shows that she has a thick skin and is destined for greatness
Load More Replies...What kind of monsters abuse and attack someone for doing something amazing. So sad. Her perseverance is incredible.
She is an environmentalist I can get behind and respect. She isn't afraid to get in there and really help out. She deserves all the awards and recognitions and those bullying her may karma pay them back.
It's people like Nadia who save the world others live in. Thank you for doing this, we appreciate it so so much <3
I am so proud of her for staying strong and so angry and sad about the reaction of others. Don't they realize that what she does helps saving the only planet we can live on?
Look, often kids who do this get mocked and called naive. But when a 13 old - who has little resources and "life experience" - does 100% of what they CAN do, they are still a great example for executives, lawmakers and other "adults" that should be able to have a much more impact and reach and yet do nothing with the excuse of "carrying water to the sea". Being mocked by her peers is almost worse (but they could indeed hide behind their ignorance)
There are many idiots out there night here are people like this young lady that lets us know humanity will survive
Some children obviously have rubbish for parents, because it starts in the home
What is up with bullying-culture in the US? This is horrifying - poor girl! But wonderful that she stuck to her passion and did something great for the planet
It takes more strength of character to not run with the herd. Half of those who do conform tend to either have no imagination or are hiding behind bullies.
Maybe they should follow her example. Just goes to show what sad people are out there.
Those who bullied, should be dealt with, harshly, good girl Nadia, love you !!!
If anyone is bullied it should people who litter! Ridiculous that someone trying to clean the planet is harassed. Instead of a fine for littering, there should be a requirement that the guilty wear an orange jumpsuit and pick up litter in public spaces until all litter is off the ground.
screw the people that bullied her- watch as she becomes an inspirational speaker at the white house while those bullies grumble on their fry-littered couch at home with a spilled drink in their lap. :)
Brave, dedicated soul. The world needs more like you of every age. Thank you for your contribution to the earth's health.
Well done, this is inspirational, showed a knife?! What is with the world! I wondered why I recognised her, she's from my local city, Norwich UK! That's Carrow Road, crikey never has Bored Panda been so close to home!
Hey, you know the whole world is your neighborhood nowadays! Like you are just 5000 miles from us in New Mexico! Stop by sometime LOL!
Load More Replies...Now, I don't think that the trash who bullied her and name her "Trash Girl" liked all the recognition and awards she got and greatly deserve. I sincerely hope some (too many) Bored Pandas will not trash her as they did Greta Thunberg - she started her fight for the earth when she was 11 years old.
Me reading this: WWF? Wait. Does that stand for World War Four? lol!!! Great story, and yes, people are often bullied for doing the right thing.
that's worth $$, about a 2 hour salary in Denmark or any country with a return-system that pays for returning bottles :)
This girl has a beautiful soul may she continue doing amazing things for herself, & this planet
You go girl. You are stronger and better than all those bullies. Mother Earth thanks you.
Unbelievable she would get bullied . God Bless her for standing her ground. She is truely the better person for it.
That will show those idiot teens who are not looking to be called worthwhile citizens ahead.
I enjoy picking up trash too -- makes a walk more interesting instead of just boring exercise. The next time you walk the same path, you can see the difference you made!
You just have to keep doing what you believe in despite adversity.
No matter in which country we live, there are always going to some weird kids who bully others for no reason. In some countries, these kids grow up to be president.
What a good child, keep it up sweetie....be strong and keep being a good human
Kudos for sticking to your goal of picking up trash!! Sorry about the bullying, you are amazing 🤩
Treated badly for doing something remarkable and good. What is wrong with people? I'm glad that she finally got the recognition that she deserves. Good for you.
Dear Lord, what kind of parents raise kids who bully and assault a 13-year-old girl for picking up litter? Yes, we should congratulate her parents for raising a human, but intervention is needed for those kids who weren't so lucky.. Do not give up hope. It's never too late to learn how to be human. You just have to want to.
I was litter picking in my little English village and a passing car's passenger threw out fast food rubbish straight into my way, on purpose, then blared the horn - as a way of showing thier mockery for my efforts, I assume.
The bullying of this dear girl makes NO sense to me! But so glad she kept it up <3
my son has started a litter campaign at his school, I and can confirm some kids are little shits. Other children have targeted him also including throwing rubbish over him. However, he keeps going and now has 5 others in his litter picking group. The school have been supportive and supplied them with jackets, gloves, pickers and bags.

Sometimes animals know and can sense when humans are helping them and don't struggle. Like one of my cats is poorly and needs medication and eye drops, twice a day he lies calmly in my arms and swallows his tablet and lets us give him his eye drops. He knows he needs it so doesn't try and run. For all the harm humans do to animals, it's amazing that they still trust us.

In most countries and civilisations, our elders live with us. They get care, love and respect from their children and their children get valuable advice, and built in child care. I simply don’t understand the advantages of everyone living in their own in the name of individual freedom, especially if it means leaving the aging to fend fir themselves while your kids are being raised by total strangers. Who benefits from this, except big industry who gets that many more customer households to sell their products to? Genuine question.

When I was a kid, I thought getting citizenship to America was the neatest thing. The people looked so proud raising their hands to declare their allegiance to America. The only thing neater was to maybe have dual citizenship. I was born here and was proud to share. I was only first and third generation. Then I met people who did not want to share. I traveled and had the sudden realization that other countries are home to proud people. And that people immigrate to and from everywhere. When things get tough, many stay and work to make things better. It sounds simplistic, but I think people should live freely anywhere they want to in the world.
