Even though some countries still do major harm by clearcutting forests, silviculture is science of growing and harvesting wood in economically, ecologically and socially sustainable ways. This is a nice picture how sawmills actually cut the logs so every part can be used for different kinds of planks and nothing goes to waste. Especially people living in areas that don't have lot of forests aren't always very familiar with how we get and use our natural resources, but everybody can educate themselves.

The log is encased in glass so it won't get dirty. And glass cleaner is really not much work on or off. I can't see clean up being such an issue at all.

It doesn't look like it is insulated properly, but they have some materials today whose thermal properties are quite surprising. Assuming this is a new construction in the USA and not a remodel where less than 50% of the building was remodeled, the IECC codes would apply and there are minimum insulation requirements. I'm more interested in where this apartment is located physically. If this apartment were located somewhere temperate, such as Guatemala City, I would suspect this apartment would require very little cooling or heating. Of course, it would need ventilation, but the amount of outside air required is not that high. On a different note, if this apartment were in a more extreme climate such as Phoenix or Quebec I would anticipate the cooling requirements and heating requirements (respectively) to be quite high. However, I still think an efficient system could be designed.

Its not photoshopped. Its the way he is sitting. The back of the cushions are up high so if you raise your arms to rest them there then your neck disappears. His loose fitting shirt does the rest. People that don't know anything about photoshop always want to assume a wonky angle or lighting or beautiful person must be photoshop.

That was my first question, too. All the soaps we use would kill it....unless it's a fake plant. Even still, it takes up seating space and/or would be a harbour for mold & bacteria. It needs to be outside the shower like the other one.

My problem would be more with the alternating textures, the wood most likely has a bit more grip, the melamine is slick as heck. All these problems are compounded by the fact that there's no actual stair rail for your hand to run smoothly along.

I don't like open stairs, but usually there is some overlap. With these, there is definitely no overlap and maybe a bit more space than the norm. They look like wider tread than normal (11 inches,) which would make it awkward to climb.

No, it’s perfect; the colour difference defines the stairs and you would be very aware of where one step ends and the next one starts. My daughter has hard wood floors and stairs and I fell twice at the bottom because I couldn’t see where the stairs ended and the floor started.

Well, I am not a fan of the mess underneath it, nor the cleaning needs for that. BUT, unlike most tubs you know when there is a leak right away. I am concerned with the weight, all of that weight on each wall, not distributed across multiple beams on the floor. And lastly, how do you drain it? A bucket?

I've sat in one of those kinds of tables and it's VERY easy to slip off the seat when you're trying to sit and if you bend forwards it's mostly likely to actually just slip off from beneath your bottom... Not a good choice at all

Well, half that struggle is convincing yourself you want to leave. I'm now trying to remember, about half a dozen years ago there was an artist installation like this in Germany, like a warehouse-sized building with trampoline floors everywhere... seems the inspiration of this and the other in this list.

I absolutely love this. My boring tiny dutch row house is filled with industrial things on the inside. Not the storebought kind, but rescued from factories or homemade. It takes a surprising amout of effort to make things look damaged and old.

When you go along such a strip you will visit the entire strip surface including the portion that seems to be on the other side of the strip before returning to the starting point. Therefore, the structure of this chair is clearly not a Möbius strip because it has to surfaces.

So, put your baby in a faraday cage? I know that some people worry about it (and very rarely some get sick from all the EMR) but....this faraday cage seems to be only half complete, and really an over-concern unless you happen to have one of those babies who get sick from it (FYI, this problem is known to only exist in late teens to adults, not infants).
