"When I created this picture - a lot of people asking me if this is a wolf. And of course a swiss white shepherd has a lot of wolf in it. It was the reason for me to buy me a dog like this. He's not a typical pet, he has the majesty of a wolf and of course he has a lot of it's character!"

I'm so glad this photo brings light to those in Africa who are Albino. In Tanzania alone, witch doctors hunt those suffering from the condition for their body parts, which are used in potions to bring good luck and wealth. Victims can be kidnapped and then dismembered by hired killers, or even sold by unscrupulous family members, with body parts fetching up to $75,000 (£60,000). the greatest threat to people with albinism in Africa. They face a slower death from a disease known as the “silent killer”. Without melanin to protect them, they have a much higher risk of getting skin cancer.

Poor albinos, they get hacked to pieces over there due to backwards magic spell b******t. Its awful how they are treated. Life isn't bad enough for them, they get accused of being witches and even less protection from the African sun.

OK... Photographers winning and raising awareness is great but they are just warning and walk away with their prize. What are they actually doing to raise money and save them. I worked and lived across Africa and I am tired of photographers doing this for the win and just a petty title with no real action. Colonization in modern days it feels like. I am doing my work still today.

I always feel a little uncomfortable when native peoples are used in photographs as some kind of "beautiful curiosity" for Westerners to "enjoy" if you get what I mean. How do these people benefit from their modelling? Do they get paid for what has become an award winning photo?

There are charities, unfortunately they can sometimes interfere with the local economy because people start wearing and selling donated shoes that local shoemakers then have to compete with.

I only own 4 pairs of footwear, one pair of skatey airwalk trainers (sneakers), a pair of Dr Marten's, a pair of wellies for walking the dog on wet days and a pair of ex-army para boots. I will only replace them when they are literally falling apart. This image is striking, look how beat up his feet are, it makes you question things we take for granted. I would happily donate my shoes to this kid if i knew how.

16 year-old Fardin Oyan lives in Bangladesh and is currently studying in 11th grade at college. He had a keen interest in technical gadgets since his early childhood, and was particularly interested in cameras because photography never grew old as computer games did. When he was in 7th grade, he convinced his father to buy him a compact camera which was worth a little above a hundred USD. He can clearly remember the first snap he took - two sparrows just outside his window: "I was so happy that I can't describe that moment in words. The camera felt like a magical box to me. After that moment, I decided to take the path of photography seriously and now photography has become the part and parcel of my life."

Adult Gentoo penguins are supposed to be about 2.3 - 3.1 feet tall. The seal looks to be a female, and adult females get to be up to 10 feet in length, so I think it’s the seal that’s the massive one.

"Pious and pure" ... love that term which is so rarely considered anymore. Notice how those on the right walk away and those on the left walk towards the photographer. It is as if they walk in a circle to retrace their steps in pilgrimage....

Unfortunately, this year or the past approx 7 years was not even close to that amount of snow in London. Last time was about 8 years ago, or 3 years ago when the snow was about 5 cm and melted by the end of the day, The picture however nice, but defiiófinitely not from 2018.

This is very common in places like Brazil, they don't have access to footballs so they will use a mouldy orange from the family fruit stall, they will play in bare feet because of course they can't afford football boots, its why that part of the world produces some of the best footballers, they have mega control without even using boots and a proper ball.

Barnacles are one of the oldest surviving creatures in the world, dating back millions of years. They have changed very little over that time. Barnacles are marine animals that live in or close to sea water. Over 1,000 species of barnacles inhabit shallow and tidal waters around the planet. Barnacles are crustaceans, closely related to lobsters and crabs.

He has portrayed poor parts of the world characterised by traditions, social unrest and religious devotion. His photographs sensitively reflect the images of the marginal word – the voices of the neglected. Because of the artist’s directness and respect for individuals, the people photographed are spontaneous, natural and open.Their 'soul' is captured and the viewer is encouraged to observe and think.

The food is prepared by sewadars (workers) which is made up of volunteers, along with the 300 permanent sewadars who ensure that the food is cooked and delivered on time. Some people volunteer for a few hours, some for a day, while others volunteer for days on end!

All kinds of people didn't like the next photo above (dead bear) but nobody gives a s**t about dead fish. If fish were cuddly you'd all be just as bummed out about this pic.

Sad ... look at all the "BEAR SUITS" to the left being worn by the people in line ... sad.

Some traditions like these have to stop. I don’t care how old they are. To me, they are simply gruesome. Poor bears.

If bears were small and ugly would you still feel that way? Be honest.

I've heard these bears are some decade old or more. tgese "costumes" are inherited from father to son. it's not that they kill all these animals every year!

Regardless of when the cruelty occurred, this still adds us to a veritable massacre of bears. Continuing to use these costumes in a celebration no less, validates the cruelty.

This feels morbid and wrong to me ... especially when seeing the whole line of "bear-men" to the left.

You know some cultures eat the bears...not just kill them for their fur.

It is always sad when people feel they have to kill something just to get what they have. It is no different when corporate armies obliterate whole cultures of humanity just so they can dig the minerals out of the earth where their villages once stood.

yes, definitely something sad here. I rarely have interest in photos that focus on dead animals. We can do something greater than this.

For those who yell here about how cruel it is, you need to know that many costumes are synthetic, and in România is one of biggest bear poputation, so the bears are not killed or something. They are important for romanians in tradițional(s) and now are even feed and helped by locals if they come in towns after food

And to complete the idea, this tradițional is kind of veneration to the bear who "is scarying the bad spirits". It's kinda "holy thing" who purificates the places.
