The error happened in 2018 when Samsung Securities tried to pay a dividend to about 2,000 employees who participated in the company stock ownership plan. The intent was to give each of those employees 1,000 South Korean won, worth about US$1, but instead issued 2.8 billion shares. These shares were worth about 112.6 trillion won, or 30 times the market capitalization of the company. The company noticed the error 37 minutes later. However 16 employees sold the shares which the company gave them. They proceeded with the sale despite receiving warnings from the company and were promptly reported to prosecutors.

similar, but different. not well known, oregon town of brookings was bombed by a japanese pilot from a small plane in WW2. the plane was put together and then placed in the water from a japanese sub. the plane had two 250 pound incendiary bombs attached to it with the intent to start a wild fire. luckily, it had rained the night before and there was no damage. the pilot survived the war and was invited to the town in the mid 60s. when he visited, he presented his family's centuries old samurai sword to the town where it can still be seen in the local library on display

One by Guaneri, one by Stradivarius, one modern violin from a maker who claims to have solved all the secrets of Stradivarius, and one ordinary modern violin. In each case, either the Stradivarius or Guaneri came first. And the ordinary modern violin came last. Perhaps there was another competition since.

Might be true for extremely sensitive measuring instruments but definitely not for medical purposes. The level of radiation from a 10g instrument is negligible and so much lower than the local background radiations due to all the nuclear/imaging equipment.

We only had this a couple of days ago. It was not the direct cause. The school were slow getting help as he didn't say anything but scratched at it until it bled, the ambulance people gave the wrong treatment because of this, and he died of heart issues due to infection so not, cheese in face, bam you're dead.....

CVS not continuing that bottle design was the stupidest thing ever done in the history of prescription bottles. The Target bottles were easy to read. Easy to keep the instructions attached. You could choose the color of the neck so every family member could tell which bottles were theirs. The font was very readable. They were the best. Now I've got 4 people in our family, all with different scripts for different things and you have to read the bottle every time because there's no way to differentiate. I hope that the Target bottle starts getting used again at some point. I'll switch to getting my scripts through whomever chooses to do so.

This is woefully incorrect! The TT Races were cancelled during World Wars I and II. They were also cancelled in 2001 (foot and mouth disease) and 2020 and 2021 (Covid). There were no deaths in 1908, 09, 10, 12, 20, 21, 22, 24, 25, 26, 28, 30, 32, 34, 36, 37, 38, 47, 59, 60, 63, 65,82, 83, 87, 90, 2008, 12, and 24. . . . It should be noted that the TT Races are for professionals. There's also another series of races, for amateurs. It is not the TT. It's had a few names, currently the Manx Grand Prix. There have been many deaths in these races. The latest was just last night, Louis O’Regan.
