“How Hard Did Puberty Hit You”: 30 People Who Took Part In This New TikTok Challenge And Shared Photos
TikTok is a must-visit place for some of the internet’s most viral challenges, from incredible glow-ups to cooking trends like making a baked feta pasta, and pet-related challenges like “Please Don’t Go.” So no wonder there’s an entire new challenge topping the trending lists every couple of weeks.
This time, TikTok users are going crazy for the “How hard did puberty hit you?” trend that challenges people to use two pictures only that show how much bois and gurls have changed since their careless childhood days.
From badass style transformations to embracing their new identities and letting their confidence shine from within, these are some great examples of self-acceptance and self-love. Both of which we should never rob ourselves of.

People do body modifications, with the idea of improving themselves, trying something new. Like tattoos - same thing, really - except tattoos are generally permanent, while things like these eyebrows are usually temporary. Big difference. Whatever her situation is - and it looks like she has serious limitations - she deserves kudos for trying new things. Whether or not she wants to have them forever is another matter.

I can’t believe that I randomly just saw this post. The glow’d up version is a photo of one of my besties~ Brittany Brousseau!! Google her. It’s obvious!! Whoever posted this claiming to be B is pathetic!! Blatant lie!! Brittany and I gave been besties since childhood and that photo of the unfortunate looking chubby girl holding that trophy is also NOT Brittany!! I just text her tii hi s screenshot and she’s speechless. I mean.. she is a well respected and loved published model.. but don’t try claiming she is you just because you wish you looked like her. Just eww to posers trying to you other peoples photos!! *ETA saying this catfisher is overweight and unfortunate looking is not meant as an insult but rather an obvious fact. The new “How hard did puberty hit you?” challenge is a spinoff of another widely popular TikTok trend where people share their transformations, also known as glow-ups. The hashtag #glowup on Instagram produces more than 4 million search results, and the same hashtag has over 14.7 billion views on TikTok.
Not only are there 10-year glow-up challenges, there is also an entire genre of YouTube videos dedicated to the “24-hour glow-up challenge.” In these videos, people challenge themselves to become prettier, or to glow up, within the period of one day.

“I got into TikTok because my friends wanted me to start posting, they have always been on me about blowing up and always kept saying that people need to see this stuff, because I do the dumbest things,” she recounted.“I used to hate TikTok,” Nina said as she honestly didn’t expect her video to blow up as “everything just happened so fast.”
To everyone else and those who struggle about their identity and finding inner confidence, Nina said that “all I have to say is nobody heckin' cares, so why do you? Everyone is too busy focusing on their insecurity, so do you have to be too?” Nina believes that it takes more courage to be yourself than to be “liked” by everyone. “They DON’T pay your bills,” she added.

Doesn't seem to be the same person. Before had a very tiny nose, after not the same at all. Skin tone too. Brows are different. I'd need some in between images.

Totally not the same person. It's one thing to lose weight, but to change your skin tone from a very pale complexion that goes bright red at the smallest provocation to a darker olive tone than probably never burns or blushes is well nigh impossible. Why do people do this??

To Miss Frankfurter, I'm close with a former Miss Nevada and I've got to tell you, there is not a single thing about her that's fake. She's had no work done, loves her time in the sun, she's beautiful inside and out, she's kind and genuine, she's a hard worker, she's incredibly talented, and she's overcome some struggles that I can't begin to image tackling. In short, she's a real-life human being. Maybe we shouldn't paint everyone with such a broad brush?

(for anyone wondering, Zoe Laverne at 19 got into a relationship with a 13 year old fan and only stopped because the fan's mom finally found out and intervened; Laverne saw nothing wrong with it and made it out to be both their responsibility, even though she was 19 and he was a child.)

What I really appreciate about this photo is she doesn't have any make up on. It's her face. Natural. No sexy outfit or hair. No "bedroom eyes" look. Looks like a picture taken in her backyard. Puberty was wonderful to her.

She has makeup on. Look at her brows before and after. He nose is shaded on both sides to make it look thinner; something they've been doing in movies since the 1930s. Her cheeks have more color on both sides of her nose; the second picture has more shading away from that area. All of it is subtle, she's a pretty girl with light makeup.

I suppose this is going to be downvoted into oblivion, but very few of these pictures have anything to do with puberty. Call me old fashioned, but the concept of puberty does not include steroids, gender reassignment, cosmetic surgery, Instagram filters, piercings, and tattoos.
