These are actually the European bee-eaters (Merops apiaster). Bee-eaters predominantly eat flying insects, especially bees and wasps, not caterpillars :D

There were still shadows, they were just photoshopped out to enhance the look of a bad render. There are lighter color "donut shapes" around the pole, which is where the shadows would have been.. Still interesting

Its all about the scale and massiveness of the city If you use google map you can locate huge aras of mostly just house by house and get similar image as above. Zoom out and there is green areas. I can't even wrap my mind around the scope of such a city. This is in Minneapolis. The one on the left is referred to as the "Halo Building," because of the glowing ring around the top. My husband (who used to live in the city), and his friends called the pair, "The Angel and the Demon," because from the highway, you could almost see a devilish face hiding in the orange lights. So, it's kind of cool that someone took a picture like this of these buildings.

it's for making your own laundry detergent. you microwave fels-naptha soap to make it easier to crumble up. Other wise you send about an hour trying to grate it and getting a hand cramp :/
