I'm a graphic designer and illustrator. I started my comic blog Tall N Curly back in 2012 to share my tall girl problems. Do you remember my previously posted funny comics about "25 Problems I Face When Being A Tall And Curly-Haired Girl" here on Bored Panda?
I wanted to create some space in my life for something creative that had nothing to do with my work. By doing so, I realized I was telling the everyday problems of so many other women. Women, who, just like me, want and need to be reminded that it's OK, fun and even special to be different and to own who they are.
Since I started my webcomic series, I've had the opportunity to talk with so many amazing women who shared their girl problems with me. Whether they're tall, short, skinny, curvy, their stories about living their life and not being able to fit any mold inspire my cute drawings every day.
Thanks to them, I never lack inspiration or have to try hard making these relatable comics... There's always something new to tell!

A Tall Girl's Life: Watching A Movie With A Taller Girlfriend
I'm not taller than my husband but my torso is longer so THIS happens when we try to sit together
Uhm yeah, if the relationship is such that you can't say this out loud, I see no future. Matterfact, if the boy is as stupid and insecure as this, I see no future.
Yeah... plus it's not like you're going to spend the whole movie in one position like a bunch of mannequins.

I do not quite understand the burn. Could you explain?
Load More Replies...@Christina Sersif - What exactly are they pointing out? their lack of style and understanding of the appropriate footwear for an occasion ? As a tall girl, I will always wear heels when dressing up, or when appropriate. Tall girls usually mean larger feet, and larger feet when put in flat shoes often look even bigger, there is actually nothing more noticeable than a tall girl in flats than a tall girl in heels, that looks uncomfortable and is often someone else dictating it should be so.
Plus posture can be more difficult to maintain for tall girls and heels help with that

I'm 5'9" and constantly get guys that are like "No, way! I'm 5'10", so you can't be!"... No, buddy... You're just short.
ugh... this... all the time... this!! I'm not 6', but the number of times guys shorter than me try to tell me that they *are* 6'.... bahahahahaha..... (insert eyeroll here)
OMG yes!! I flew out to Cleveland to meet up with friends and see a concert and through the entire opening act this dude is going “You can’t be 6’ I’m 6’!” I’m looking slightly down at him and show him my drivers license to finally shut him up. I said “Maybe you shrunk? Idk what else to tell you dude....”
At my work we have to get a patient's measurements (height and weight). Typically men almost always think they're one to four inches taller than they really are. Women typically tell us they're ten to thirty pounds lighter than they really are. It cracks me up when I get someone who is 5' 10" who tells me he's 6' 2". That's why I never write down what they tell me and take actual measurements and it's why our measurements never match what's already in the system because someone else just asked and didn't check.
I'm 5'9" and constantly get guys that are like "No, way! I'm 5'10", so you can't be!"... No, buddy... You're just short and in denial.
Same! I’m 5’9 and it’s always the short guys with a complex that are like 5’7 and they always have something to say “nooo how I’m 5’10 so you must be at least 6’” umm nooooo

A Tall Girl's Life: Shopping For Clothes
I have the same issue with the pants length. The size that fits me is too short, what's longer is too big. Thankfully they started making different types of cuts and fits and you can have petite, normal or long cut to match your leg length and your hips.
I never understood why women's pants come in "sizes". Men's pants have two measurements, waist and inseam, so a short fat guy can get pants that fit and tall skinny guys can also get pants that fit. Why can't women's pants do the same?
We've been wondering the same for about a century or three. Mainly because the fashion industry is predicated on and thrives on demeaning, dividing and just plain ole dismissing the women they cater for. I grew up in a toxic "suffer for beauty" society and by the looks of our plucked, fillered and always photoshopped youths today, the suffer for beauty thing is still going strong. TL;DR: being a girl is complicated.
Load More Replies...yup. Totally. When we find a brand that accepts that tall chicks can also be slim... HEAVEN!!! On a side note: I have a fabulous Japanese friend, who will wear my tops as mini-dresses, and my long skirts as strapless dresses. Happens regularly. And she totally rocks them!

I'm the tall skinny chick. A good friend is the super short, petite, with giant boobies chick... and her struggles are just as bad. I may not have your experience, but I have seen the fashion-hell my friend goes through... so I totally hear you!!
Load More Replies...Jeans are a struggle for a lot of women. If you have any curves whatsoever you have to go up a size and then have to deal with it not fitting in some areas. At least with tall people they have a tall length for jeans
You can stitch a 3" length of elastic inside the waistband on either side to close the gap. It's pretty easy to do. There are videos online. If you are more talented at sewing, you could buy jeans that are about 4" too long. After hemming the legs, use the remnants to re-tailor the waistband so that it fits your curves. I have no talent, so I expect my clothes to fit me, which makes for many fruitless hunts for clothing.

Yep. If the jeans are the right height, they're tiny. If they're the right size, they're 6 inches too long. At least we can get the jeans shortened though... tall people don't have that option either
Load More Replies...Yep, it's very hard to find petite sized pants and long skirts that fit. And when you do, there's either about 2 to choose from or the styles are ugly. 5'2" here.
Hey At Least Us Shorties Can Cut The Bottom Of The Pants Off
if the waist fits they're to short if the length fits they're to long and finally if you find a pair that fit they're usually ugly, really expensive, or like your favorite pants for the rest of the year
That's the advantage to being a guy. Our clothes are sized by actual measurements.
My BFF and I always have this problem. My frame is larger than clothing manufacturers believe exists and hers is smaller. She shops petites, but the fashions are sometimes dated. I shop women's sizes, where "bigger" = "wider", but not taller.

If airlines are going to continue jamming the seats closer together, they can't continue to allow them to recline. They just can't have it both ways.

It sucks to wash your long hair with only one hand. An adjustable fixation on the wall is the only valid solution. As a 1,9m man I have this issue a lot while traveling.
Load More Replies...the house my family currently rents originally had a shower so low only my mum could fit under it so the owners changed it to a hand shower that has an adjustable rail so you can have it at any height, which is very handy.
should probably add that I'm 5'1 so it was really low not that I'm too tall.
Load More Replies...I was sent on a temporary duty assignment in the Mid-Pacific, with layovers at Hickam Hawaii. The Airman's temporary quarters had showers that were about chest high. I had to bring a chair into the show to wash up!
Also hotel showers. Half the time they hit me mid chest. I might as well sit down to wash my hair.
Yup. I know the struggle too well. I also really prefer the larger shower in my house, because the smaller one makes me feel a slight bit claustrophobic.
I don't understand this one really, because it is not the friend that decided where the shower head would be fitted unless their own house, if it is low it is just low, but even at a tall persons house it could also be low. If renting you cannot just change the shower head. I have never really found a low one either though, maybe we just have higher ceilings and higher showers in Australia
UGH! YES!!! So much yes! Even the adjustable mount ones have to be put as high as possible AND at an angle for me to even have a chance of getting under them (and even then I bash my head on them far too often).

They like to be able to throw them around in bed. I know... I asked.
Load More Replies...Just because you're tall doesn't mean you get to be mean to short girls because their boyfriend is tall.
The girl is a b***h throughout this entire series. I guess you gotta be tall to appreciate it, because my short a*s keeps thinking “jeez, how rude!” Lol
Load More Replies...You can complain about being tall without putting shorter girls down (expecting us to tailor whom we date to accommodate your height). It is not like we can control our height any more than you can yours. Also, hopefully a relationship is based on more than something so superficial.
I know this is a joke, and being her BFF is short I hope this is done more in good humor than not. People connect on a whole lot more than their height. I've dated men of all heights, shapes and sizes. My husband I met online, without a clue as to our heights. Matching on every emotional and mental level possible. Now at times we walk down the street and I occasionally get the stink eye from a tall girl, (thankfully not all) because the *love of my life* happens to tower over my 5'1" with his 6'5". Like PLEASE, incredibly superficial, shallow, and beyond intrusive with such an implication. Seriously, like how dare them, the audacity that they think their height is a validation to belittle my beautiful relationship.
People always do this to “mismatched” relationships, and people feel a sense of ownership over other people who look like them. Tall girls act entitled to tall guys and hate on short girls with tall boyfriends. The same thing happens with race. I cannot even explain how many black women give me the stink eye for being seen with my boyfriend who is also black (and I’m not, I’m persian). People are jealous and stupid.
Load More Replies...Tall girl is a b***h in this one, she is being heightist.
I get stink-eye a lot from tall ladies. I'm 5ft 2, and my husband is 6ft 3. Wasted inches...I like that.
Its like saying a tall girl dating a short guy means she has a superiority complex going on. That's rude. She loves him, he loves her. Height shouldn't be a big factor to her when it comes to a potential boyfriend, nor have a sour attitude towards others about Her lack of acceptance.

Load More Replies...We need a much better variety of sizes. Like most of me is XS, but my chest is like XL so LITERALLY ZERO shirts fit me properly. >:(
It's equally sweet when you're not even tall or fat, they just want to make it sure you can wear it. So they buy the XL size and then you have to wear it because you can get in it. If you can fit in it, it justifies the clothing as a "useful present".

I think that in the image # 28, in which you put a boyfriend lower than you, going down the street, you behave and ridicule him in the same way as those who judge you. You say that you do not want them to notice you and you worry about what they think about you, in that situation.
