I'm a graphic designer and illustrator. I started my comic blog Tall N Curly back in 2012 to share my tall girl problems. Do you remember my previously posted funny comics about "25 Problems I Face When Being A Tall And Curly-Haired Girl" here on Bored Panda?

I wanted to create some space in my life for something creative that had nothing to do with my work. By doing so, I realized I was telling the everyday problems of so many other women. Women, who, just like me, want and need to be reminded that it's OK, fun and even special to be different and to own who they are.

Since I started my webcomic series, I've had the opportunity to talk with so many amazing women who shared their girl problems with me. Whether they're tall, short, skinny, curvy, their stories about living their life and not being able to fit any mold inspire my cute drawings every day.

Thanks to them, I never lack inspiration or have to try hard making these relatable comics... There's always something new to tell!

My lady has had a rollercoaster for her weight and every other superficial thing, and I simply don't give a damn because I love her. When you find a guy who can say that and mean it, you won't have this problem anymore.

Uhm yeah, if the relationship is such that you can't say this out loud, I see no future. Matterfact, if the boy is as stupid and insecure as this, I see no future.

@Christina Sersif - What exactly are they pointing out? their lack of style and understanding of the appropriate footwear for an occasion ? As a tall girl, I will always wear heels when dressing up, or when appropriate. Tall girls usually mean larger feet, and larger feet when put in flat shoes often look even bigger, there is actually nothing more noticeable than a tall girl in flats than a tall girl in heels, that looks uncomfortable and is often someone else dictating it should be so.

At my work we have to get a patient's measurements (height and weight). Typically men almost always think they're one to four inches taller than they really are. Women typically tell us they're ten to thirty pounds lighter than they really are. It cracks me up when I get someone who is 5' 10" who tells me he's 6' 2". That's why I never write down what they tell me and take actual measurements and it's why our measurements never match what's already in the system because someone else just asked and didn't check.

I have the same issue with the pants length. The size that fits me is too short, what's longer is too big. Thankfully they started making different types of cuts and fits and you can have petite, normal or long cut to match your leg length and your hips.

I never understood why women's pants come in "sizes". Men's pants have two measurements, waist and inseam, so a short fat guy can get pants that fit and tall skinny guys can also get pants that fit. Why can't women's pants do the same?

We've been wondering the same for about a century or three. Mainly because the fashion industry is predicated on and thrives on demeaning, dividing and just plain ole dismissing the women they cater for. I grew up in a toxic "suffer for beauty" society and by the looks of our plucked, fillered and always photoshopped youths today, the suffer for beauty thing is still going strong. TL;DR: being a girl is complicated.

Jeans are a struggle for a lot of women. If you have any curves whatsoever you have to go up a size and then have to deal with it not fitting in some areas. At least with tall people they have a tall length for jeans

    PeachPossum
    Community Member
6 years ago Created by potrace 1.15, written by Peter Selinger 2001-2017

You can stitch a 3" length of elastic inside the waistband on either side to close the gap. It's pretty easy to do. There are videos online. If you are more talented at sewing, you could buy jeans that are about 4" too long. After hemming the legs, use the remnants to re-tailor the waistband so that it fits your curves. I have no talent, so I expect my clothes to fit me, which makes for many fruitless hunts for clothing.

I think the capris are cute and the knee length dress makes a great top. I'm not tall, but I do have a pair of pants that are too short, but I wear boots to hide the hem. It seems with ladies' fashion, there's a lot of improvise, adapt, overcome for many of us.

You're still only 6" and probably a lot narrower than us, it's often the width that gets me on long haul; having one shoulder bent forwards to fit in between two people on long haul urg

I don't understand this one really, because it is not the friend that decided where the shower head would be fitted unless their own house, if it is low it is just low, but even at a tall persons house it could also be low. If renting you cannot just change the shower head. I have never really found a low one either though, maybe we just have higher ceilings and higher showers in Australia

You can complain about being tall without putting shorter girls down (expecting us to tailor whom we date to accommodate your height). It is not like we can control our height any more than you can yours. Also, hopefully a relationship is based on more than something so superficial.

I know this is a joke, and being her BFF is short I hope this is done more in good humor than not. People connect on a whole lot more than their height. I've dated men of all heights, shapes and sizes. My husband I met online, without a clue as to our heights. Matching on every emotional and mental level possible. Now at times we walk down the street and I occasionally get the stink eye from a tall girl, (thankfully not all) because the *love of my life* happens to tower over my 5'1" with his 6'5". Like PLEASE, incredibly superficial, shallow, and beyond intrusive with such an implication. Seriously, like how dare them, the audacity that they think their height is a validation to belittle my beautiful relationship.

People always do this to “mismatched” relationships, and people feel a sense of ownership over other people who look like them. Tall girls act entitled to tall guys and hate on short girls with tall boyfriends. The same thing happens with race. I cannot even explain how many black women give me the stink eye for being seen with my boyfriend who is also black (and I’m not, I’m persian). People are jealous and stupid.

It's equally sweet when you're not even tall or fat, they just want to make it sure you can wear it. So they buy the XL size and then you have to wear it because you can get in it. If you can fit in it, it justifies the clothing as a "useful present".

I usually go for an end seat. That way you're just blocking the extreme edge of the screen, if anything.

I used to be kind to anyone trying to sit behind me in a cinema, I'd warn them that they wouldn't be able to see the screen. I don't go out to see films anymore

I had this happen to me all the time so one day, I was in a b****y mood (shush lol) and had a glass of water in my hand. Some a*****e said this to me and I told him it was a stormy day. He asked how stormy and yes you guessed it, I poured the glass of water on his head and said "you tell me". I have never laughed so hard hahaha

I'm only slightly taller than average and I get this issue. Worked in a place where the mirror was set up at a height for wheelchair-users, even though the restroom itself was anything BUT accessible. On the plus side, I always knew how good my rack looked!

I've gone from being too tall for mirrors and just seeing my rack, to now most mirrors I see the top of my head Even occasionally in disabled toilets the mirror is so high up now?! I'm cursed 🤣

The inverse is also true, never let a tall person hang a mirror. My brother hung one at my parents' and I can literally only see the top of my head in it.

I once worked in an office where everyone was 5'10" or over ( up to 6' 8" ) I had this problem only in reverse. And I got to hear all the Short girl jokes. (I am 5' 4" ).

1.88m and I dance ballet....and have been lifted by guys almost as tall. Brave strong guys. Odd though as a skinny young girl and even into young womanhood some guys would freak me out by picking me up without warning. I am pretty sure it was to see if they could.

I'm a tall girl and I HATE this part of life. I wish I could be invisible, maybe shrink to average height. Sometimes I just don't want to be seen. Then sometimes I want to be seen but hate that I feel invisible. Being a tall, stand-out-y introvert is hard.

Unless he's a foot taller than her, he's still going to get a face full of hair, so I don't see the problem here. I manage to spoon my wife even though she's close to my height.

I think that in the image # 28, in which you put a boyfriend lower than you, going down the street, you behave and ridicule him in the same way as those who judge you. You say that you do not want them to notice you and you worry about what they think about you, in that situation.
