My name is Monica Carvalho and I love creating photo manipulations to confuse your brain.
Coming up with impossible photo montage to give people a double take has been my passion for the past 5 years. All of my digital artworks are produced with Photoshop, using my own creative photos (no stock images).
In my inspiration process, I try to find similarities between photos in terms of color, texture, and shape. For example, two mountain peaks I shot in Greece reminded me of an upper lip; a path in Oxford had the same color as my skin; a pouch zip evoked eyelashes.
Other times I also like playing with sizes while photo editing - my miniature friends 'buried' in my hand; the Empire State Building turned into a giant candle.
The titles of my creative photography pieces tend to be either puns or weird/unrelated words to puzzle people even more.
I hope you enjoy my crazy fantasy worlds!

Ohh this is epic! The pic was loading slowly and I initially thought it was an image of the reflection of trees in water and then I saw the Swan making the pic way more beautiful than what I initially thought it would be.

This could be the cover to a book about sexual assault/harrassment of women and the inferiority of women making them feel invisible. It's a beautiful pic with a beautiful message. Sort of like your own protest against the inequality in the world.

It doesn't matter to me. Would be the correct translation,but it's a regional language. If translated exactly it would say: That's (like a) sausage to (for) me.

Oh sure it's a great looking app. But they don't tell about how the swans peck and bite your fingers, and ears when you talk on the phone! My right ear lobe is all bruised up, and scabby! And, you can play with your volume and mute button all you want but it has no effect on their awful honking ! ! ! But the worst part is, even though the birds are so small, their turds are full sized ! ! !

I really love these! I am an aspiring artist and I am practicing Photoshop and these are really inspirational. I love the deep meaning and symbolism, but also the absurdity and randomness (that's my brain any day XD) I like how you just do anything anywhere and it makes sense, because the IS art. And the random titles-- it makes you think. I feel like if I tried hard enough, I could make a connection between the random titles and the photos XD
